Lovely stay at this hotel. Staff were amazing, especially the lady and men in charge of the activities. The food in general was really nice, with something for everyone. The hotel is located around a 10 minute walk from the beach. Whilst others say it is on a hill, don’t let this put you off, it’s not very steep! I managed to walk this several times a day with no issues. The only comments I would make are the annex apartments do need repainting and decorating, however they are very clean and comfortable. The picnic was also a bit of a letdown with a sandwich, apple and bottle of water only. As this was all inclusive, I would have expected some snacks such as crisp / biscuits / yogurt / other fruits in the picnic.
We would not hesitate to stay here again !

Having recently stayed at Chatur Playa Real, we felt we had to share our experience, especially after seeing some mixed reviews before our trip. We went in with realistic expectations and were pleasantly surprised by how well-run, clean, and comfortable the hotel was.
It is not the most ultra-modern resort, but the staff work hard to keep everything spotless. Our room was immaculate on arrival, and we have stayed in far more expensive places that were not as well maintained.
The food selection is not as vast as some of the mega resorts, but everything was fresh, well-seasoned, and well-prepared. Drinks were also a highlight. So many all-inclusives fall short here, but the wine and sangria from the tap were surprisingly good, and the gin and tonic mixers tasted just right, avoiding that strange artificial aftertaste some places have.
The staff were friendly and polite throughout our stay. We arrived late and were given a bag with sandwiches and fruit since the restaurant had closed, which was a thoughtful touch. Booking excursions was easy with the touchscreen at reception, and staff could print tickets immediately, making the whole process seamless.
The pool area was another highlight, with two separate spaces. The main pool is a great sun trap and perfect for relaxing, while the separate kiddy area has shallow pools and slides, making it ideal for families with young children. There were always sun loungers available, and the layout meant everyone could find a comfortable spot.
Overall, Chatur Playa Real exceeded our expectations. It offers great value for money, and we would not hesitate to stay again.

ONE MASSIVE PROBLEM: on your final day, they make you pay to use the all inclusive if you have a later flight. We checked out and at 12 and our flight home is at 7 and they expected us to pay more money to use the facilities for our final day. This is disgusting in my opinion as we have paid for a six day stay.
We were nervous about the hotel when we read reviews, but honestly it’s okay compared to what people are saying.
The positives:
- fantastic staff who are super quick and amazing at their jobs. They are very polite, although some of the bar staff speak very little English and it can be hard to communicate.
- the rooms are comfortable and spacious, having our own fridge was really useful. The balcony is clean and maintained and we had no visits from pests or cockroaches of any kind.
- our aircon wasn’t working, but all we had to do was let reception know and they offered us a room change or a fan, at 11pm (the desk is available 24hrs.) we chose the fan, and it was huge, so completely cooled down the room.
Pool was massive and always clean. Open 10-6 with a lifeguard on site.
It states on the website cocktails are not included in the all inclusive but we were given them for free throughout our entire stay.
Every single room has a pool view.
The negatives:
The entertainment isn’t great, there was a magician one night that was really good but other than that not much to brag about.
The food is basic and you will likely become sick of it. We stayed 5 days and by the 5th we were becoming really sick of the choices. There is pizza, chips, mash potato and basic things like that if you are a fussy eater/ have children.
Quite a hilly location, tough walk to the beach in the heat if you struggle walking but not horrendous.
Some of the furniture is slightly tired but this didn’t effect our stay whatsoever
Would not recommend as a couple as there are lots of children and it is much more a family hotel, this got on our nerves slightly towards the end so will be booking adults only next time, although this is not at any fault of the hotel!
Obviously the main problem is the paying extra for all inclusive on your last day when we have paid for the holiday already. Extremely disappointed when they expect us to pay for water in such hot weather. It’s like the second that you check out they no longer care about you.
