Century Resort Corfu

Stayed here for 10 days Sept-Oct and must say was bit disappointed. On arrival about midnight after a lot of travelling and delays we were met with a man on reception who I don't think should have been there (I think he might have been the maintenance guy) as he wasn't that friendly and told us we had to pay room tax (which we were not aware or even ever heard of). We said we weren't happy about it and his reply (in not very good english) told us we had to pay it or we couldn't stay there. Talk about bad customer service, so we just paid rather than get into conflict as we're were very tired n just wanted to go to bed. The next morning we went onto the balcony which had a lovely sea view, this kind of made the whole room tax thing not so bad even though still a bit upset about the not very friendly greeting from the night before. Just as my partner and I we were enjoying our coffee we noticed cigarette fumes from the room next door, there was a couple who were both smoking on the balcony so had go back in the room as im allergic to cigarette smoke. This basically continued and to my horror found out the couple had only just arrived and were staying for 2 weeks so after a couple of days decided to complain. We asked reception if we could change rooms and preferably in a none smoking block but were tokd they didn't have a non smoking area but they may be able to move us on the following Saturday (we arrived on the Sunday) so this meant putting up with the smell day and evening for a week before they could move us. As half the complex was empty I found this unreasonable as we should have been moved immediately. As we only had a few more days left by Saturday we decided to just put up with it, but things got worse as there were other people smoking in the same block so we didn't enjoy the balcony which should have been the highlight of the holiday what with the panoramic sea view and surroundings. Also the walk from the main entrance to the room was all uphill with lots of steps so by the time we got to our room we were abs exhausted so def wouldnt recommend esp for older people. We won't be returning to this hotel as apart from the above the breakfast buffet was very basic, same thing everyday. There was a choice of cooked or continental but I prefer a cooked breakfast but as a vegetarian there was a poor choice. Despite all the negatives the room was very clean and the maid was lovely and always smiling but overall very disappointed with this hotel and will not be returning 🙁

We didn't expect much (just something reasonably nice for the price) but there were few problems that, in my opinion, make the hotel overrated: 1. The apartment we stayed in definitely needs some renovation (the bathroom mirror is in a very bad condition, the furniture is old and also in a bad condition). 2. The lights in the apartment were very dim, and even if you turned them all on in the evening, the room was still in semi-darkness. 3. The only kitchen utensils were two glasses and two cups (no cutlery, plates, knives, etc). 4. Only one old, smelly wardrobe in an unconvincing location away from the bedroom. 5. From time to time you may notice a very intense, unpleasant odour in the apartment (probably from some cleaning chemicals or old dirt, or both). 6. Lack of mosquitoes, which was quite problematic 7. The acoustics weren't the best, you could hear the shuffling of chairs from the neighbours very clearly. 8. Disinformation from reception that the only doctor you can see is the one from the hotel (120 euros) or private in town (even more expensive), but it turned out that there is a free public doctor just 5 minutes walk from the hotel. The positives: - spacious apartment - convenient location - OK breakfast - OK price - nice staff (except for the aforementioned disinformation)

We had a perfect stay here, the night receptionist was wonderful, the bartender during the evening at the pool bar was great - saved us when we arrived late and really wanted a quick drink! We were very grateful. Happy hour between 5-6 was a lovely little surprise too! The rooms are really clean and lovely, you get fresh towels and linens every other day but the room is cleaned daily. Of course, there were little things that could use some attention like a loose plug but overall the rooms are beautiful and spacious. We had a king size bed which was great in the heat. The grounds are really well taken care of and the staff are so friendly. We also never had an issue with an over crowded pool. One thing to note, the hill is not for the faint of heart so if you want to avoid it, get a pool view room. We went for a superior garden room and it was far enough to suffer the hill in the heat. That aside, we’d absolutely go back!

Perfect Resort - Hotel , inside in a " village " on the top of the hill !!! It is perfect for people who want to stay near the center with more restaurants,bar,supermarkets and many other shops. And for the beach, the distance is not so far. For me, it is amazing ! Staff, receptionist, bar tender, e.t.c is Fantastic People !!! I give 10 at 10 for people who want to have the experience to live as Corfu People in a summer period. I believe it is very lucky all the customers in this hotel !!!

We had a lovely stay at Century Resort and even though the weather was not on our side, the staff and hotel were wonderful. The rooms and grounds were kept spotless, staff very friendly and helpful, pool area was excellent and great variety at breakfast. It is on a slight hill so definitely works the calfs and the rooms do need a bit of updating but this did not take away from the location, cleanliness, service and overall welcome of the resort.
