We stayed at Castillo beach apartments for a week 20-27th Feb. Ana the receptionist was really friendly, she gave us directions to where things were. We stayed in bungalow no 60 and it was perfect for us. It was clean and tidy, we had everything we needed including an oven which was a nice surprise and very handy as we were self catering. Our spot was perfect for us as it was close to the pool but private also. We could see the sea from where we were. These apartments are dated but clean. The staff all work really hard, there are several pools and it’s a short walk to town and the beach. We are already looking to return soon for 2 weeks .

Dear travellers, Please do NOT waste your money coming to this place. This hotel is absolutely terrible. We spent one week here, and it was honestly the worst week imaginable. The rooms were dirty, smelled awful, and everything was broken. Our bed was completely damaged, and we were forced to sleep on mattresses on the floor because nobody even attempted to fix it — even after we repeatedly asked. There were rats running around the hotel grounds and ants everywhere inside the rooms. The food was so bad that both of our families had to eat in restaurants outside the hotel every single day because it was impossible to eat here. The staff were rude and completely unhelpful. Housekeeping never cleaned our room during the entire stay. To make matters even worse, at around 4 a.m. someone attempted to rob us. A person opened our window from outside and tried to use a broom to pull a wallet that was lying on the table closer to the window. Fortunately, my wife woke up, grabbed the broom, and the person immediately ran away. This was extremely frightening and clearly shows how unsafe this hotel is. Overall, this has been the most disgusting, unsafe, and disappointing holiday of my life. I would never return here under any circumstances, and I will strongly warn all my friends and family never to come here. Avoid this place at all costs.

Wouldn’t recommend it!! After waiting for check in for 4 hours all we wanted was to have a shower and relax. After walking in to the bungalow it smelt doggy. The kitchen equipment wasn’t clean and the pan was over used, there is no cleaning stuff provided. The bathroom… the shower curtain was disgusting, it has a horrible smell and stain, plus it didn’t stop the water from coming out of the shower leaving the bathroom soaked. The bedroom… both of our mattresses had horrible stains, the curtain was hanging on few loops, limited plug sockets. One duvet between two beds? There was no WiFi on site only on reception. When booking the holiday it’s advertised as WIFI WITH EXTRA CHARGE which we didn’t mind paying but after visiting the reception we were told that there is no wifi available? FAKE ADVERTISEMENT!!!! Never been told where we empty our bins, no ash trays provided for the smokers. One of the plug sockets is covered by the headboard of the bed. After trying to move the headboard so we can charge our phones we found mould stains on the wall. The sofa in the living room was so uncomfortable and hard. There is a mop with a bucket, broom and a dust pan and brush. The mop alongside with the bucket were mouldy, the dust pan and brush were sticky. We stayed for 7 nights, during night 4 the light bulb in the bedroom broke, after going to reception we were told it’s a technical fault and it will be sorted out as it’s happening everywhere… we were left with no light in the bedroom until we left. The crack in the wall made all the ants/fly come through. After sleeping my partner woke up with bugs in his bed.

If you read the negative reviews you wouldn't book this holiday however it is definitely a case of you get what you pay for. Very basic, accomodation is surface clean due to the quick turn over of holiday makers. If you need anything replacing or extra, you can ask at reception and they will carry out any reasonable requests and it may take a day or two. Don't expect your room to be cleaned everyday however if you want it cleaned you can put in a request at reception. There is a supermarket nearby, bars and places to eat out and the walk down into the main town where there are many restaurants and bars is about 15 - 20 minutes. Don't expect five star accommodation for two star price, if you want five star then pay a fiver star price, this is a basic low budget holiday.

I felt like I had to leave a review for this place as the night before I was due to travel I saw the last couple of weeks had really bad reviews, I was considering changing my holiday all together I was put off that much. I took the risk and I’m glad I did, rooms were clean, food was edible you just have to keep in mind it is a 2 and it’s not high season. Staff were lovely and friendly, we were put about 3min walk from the all inclusive part of the hotel which was a gated part and we were right next to one of the pools however, this pool area had a private bar so it wasn’t part of the all inclusive, the English gentleman that works there was probably the only rude person I came across so this stopped us buying drinks anyway. After I had spoken to some of the guests we were informed on one of the nights there was a theft in the area, this did put us on edge but with every place you go just make sure all your windows and doors are locked and keep passport on you at all times again like you would in any foreign country. Check in is FROM 3pm so don’t be surprised if you don’t get your key until 4pm, we checked in and waited about half an hour before getting our key which was fine, the lady was very helpful and told us to go to the restaurant and get a drink and food whilst we were waiting. Some guests were abit put out by this but you have to keep in mind they can’t give all the guests their keys at 3pm. The location of the hotel is up a hill so it’s abit of a walk to shops and main bars but there are scooters you can use think they work out about 3p a minute. I can’t speak for all the terrible reviews for this hotel as everyone has different experiences but this hotel has a lot of repeat guests and I would also go back for a cheap getaway! It’s 2 stars and cheap!
