We stayed at this hotel for 7 nights on a Dinner, Bed and breakfast. In the end we ate in the hotel on three occasions...and to be honest, experiences best forgotten.
With the exception of breakfast, there is no room on this review to detail how awful the catering experience was . Dinner,B&B clients are very much second class citizens at this hotel from the quality of the food to the stark soulless, empty breakfast room where even the almost no-choice menu was run off on a standard A4 paper without a cover and handled by the few victims of the DB&B client service.
This hotel is advertised as "Boutique", and this was the main reason we chose to reserve our holiday.
Yes, the hotel is small and designer, but the small beach is bordered and surrounded by other mass-market giants of which two others (adjacent) belong to the Be Live group.
We were there in October, in the summer months the beach cannot possibly cope with the numbers lodged at the hotels and apartments around it.
The one saving grace from this review being one star are the staff at La Cala. They deserve a 5 stars rating!
I sent two comprehensive reviews direct to the company in late October, and never received even an acknowledgement to my comments. Norman Reeley.

Seaside Superior Room with a great bathroom and comfortable bed! Breakfast was perfect with fresh fruits, omelette and juice! Pool with bar staff and a quite place to rest. We will come back

A great place to relax in Majorqua. Very nice and good service. A pool and direct/ private access to Cala Mayor! Also close to the road to go anywhere to the island. If we come back one day, we will come back here!

Very unhappy and felt let down. Partly with myself, partly with booking.com and definitely with the hotel.
We booked a suite and it wasn't cheap. on arriving at the hotel, instantly they said the reservation was for 1 and that we needed to pay hundreds extra for the second person,(I think not) how many times has this happened ?. After an hour on the phone the booking.com and the hotel management they wouldn't budge. The only reason they gave was the extra breakfast, which we said we'd not have.
The booking was non refundable, so I had a suite which they wouldn't let me in and I wasn't being held hostage by what seems like a scam.
I refused to stay in the hotel and booked a different hotel, not the best start to a holiday and zero compassion to the customer and a valid mistake.

Very disappointing, rooms are very small, plumbing problems, ants, coffee cups and glasses smell bad ,as if it was dried with dirty towel. There is tea facilities but no tea cups. No gym and sauna in the building, which isn't staed any site. You have to go in another building and sauna is 10 euros per person and per day. The beach is very dirty, dog poos everywhere, so be careful where you put your towel. This hotel has nothing
to compare as a 4 star's . The only good thing is the staffs are very kind and friendly, breakfast was good. We had to leave 3 days earlier because my husband got some health issues. We asked if we could get a refund for the time being not there , but you can't reach the hotel on phone neither a direct email address that you can contact the manager. I called maybe 20 times but no one replied . So yeah bad experience.
