We traveled as a couple, a luxurious hotel, clean, very kind staff. Excellent breakfast and dinner. You can rent a car at the hotel at a reasonable price. A large room and a lovely view of the sea. We had a great time and will come back again.

Wow! Amazing holiday here. Hotel couldn't do enough for you. Amazing all inclusive drinks menu. Can't wait to go back. Even got a cake for my birthday and a bottle of wine on arrival for our honeymoon.

The Good: First, the staff are all exemplary - always friendly, polite, and ready to help. Only one of the room-service delivery guys seemed a bit surly and miserable. The hotel is immaculately presented throughout at all times. Our room was excellent, with a reasonably quiet air conditioner and a jacuzzi-bath, all kept perfectly spotless by the staff. The pool area is exceptional, and visiting in early September we always found a pair or loungers available. The breakfast lounge and self-service options are exceptional - anything you want for breakfast will be there (apart from a good selection of cereals).
The Bad: The whole hotel suffers from being too large. The lobby is ridiculous and very impersonal. Similarly, the main bar at the side of the lobby is a huge, high, glass goldfish bowl and consequently suffers from having absolutely no atmosphere at any time of day. It's not the sort of place you want to settle in for the evening, having all the attraction of an airport departure lounge; the €10 for a single short is also irritating, but typical. The evening entertainments in this bar were terrible; we attended three and were mildly impressed by only one. First, there was a male singer accompanied by a woman on a piano. He destroyed every cover version he attempted (it sounded like a local taxi driver's radio station) and only when he took a break was it possible to hear just how good the pianist was. Sack him, give her twice the pay! The next evening was supposedly a "Greek night" where they simply played awful music - and that was it. None of the fun, warmth, or mayhem that any little taverna can generate. The last evening was a quartet of ballroom dancers, who at least could demonstrate some skill, although they were supported by a fifth member (who queued the music) who looked so sour and miserable she could have curdled your cocktails! None of these entertainments were helped by the huge and sterile environs of the bar. The hotel's cavernous internal corridors stretch out far into the distance, and are so long and echoey that the slightest noise at night can be heard long before the source passes your door, which disturbed us every night. Imagine waiting 30 seconds for a rolling suitcase to come clunking over the floor tiles, then another 30 seconds as it disappears past your door. By the pool, we ordered drinks to our loungers using the hotel app, but were disappointed to find the drinks they brought looked nothing like the pictures in the app; just miserable little cardboard vending cups that cost us €14.50 for two! We didn't order again.
The Ugly: The last issue for the Atrium that cannot be overlooked is its definitely-not 5-star location. It is situated on a tatty stretch of the main coast road close to Rhodes Town, a long way from any of the locations you might want to visit on Rhodes, apart from the Rhodes Acropolis up the hill (fenced off and covered in scaffolding in 2023) and the town itself. That's fine if all you want to do is baste yourself to a crisp every day by the pool, but means long bus/taxi rides if you want to visit any of Rhodes' other attractions.
In summary, the Atrium Platinum is an impersonal and grossly oversized business/conference hotel, lacking any atmosphere and set in a poor location, but with a nice pool and excellent staff doing everything they can to make it a pleasant experience. It's not really a good holiday hotel (unless all you want to do is burn by the pool 8 hours a day) as it is marooned far from most attractions. A worthy improvement for a 5-star hotel like the Atrium would be a hotel minibus to take guests to Rhodes Town; it's only 10 minutes away, but you either have to take a bus (often packed-out as they have already picked up people from further down the coast, so drive straight past the stop) or pay twice as much for a taxi.

We are enjoying our holiday here but it is not a 5 star hotel and not what we expected based on the reviews. It feels like a very good 3 star or 4 star hotel. Everything is quite tired and not luxurious. Staff are excellent. We have enjoyed our holiday with young children but wouldn’t recommend if actually looking for a proper 5 star luxury Greek holiday (as we were but quickly had to adjust our expectations). Being told to pay the full bill upon check in was a bit of a red flag.
