We stayed in this resort for a week in Sept 2023. In short summary, we would definitely recommend people to stay in this resort as it is good value with the price we paid.
The location itself is quite remote when comparing with other resorts near the town but it is completely up to your choice. This resort located 10mins walk from Xi beach, beside the beach, you would be able to find couple of convenience stores and few local places to grab a bite. Normally, you mainly need to take the shuttle to the town, which would be 10mins ride.
The resort itself is fantastic, very well presented and good maintenance throughout the resort. There are plenty of facilities for families and couples to enjoy, including spa, 2 swimming pools, 3 restaurants (1 main, 2 payable), outdoor cinema and don’t miss out, the Gallery! We recommend you to check the facilities program and see when are they open and close. We are quite surprised with the quality of artwork and the presentation of the gallery.
We chose half board, meaning only breakfast and lunch/dinner are included. In terms of drinks, only water and few juice drinks are available without extra cost. We feel that it is sufficient as we often go out and explore. There are plenty of selections at the buffet. Restaurant staff are working hard, as we can see same staff serving breakfast and dinner. The layout and design of the restaurant is great, very well presented and we feel comfortable as there are plenty of space to sit without feeling too close to other people.
In terms of entertainment, we are slightly disappointed as every time we walked pass, the stage is rather quiet. Would suggest management team to review their entertainment programs to attract more people to join the events. Also, the spa centre located at the resort provides massage treatments, I wouldn’t recommend massages if you want a deep tissue massage. My partner and I both opted in for a deep massage, but the only thing we got was disappointment. Although the spa centre advertised hot tub and sauna facilities, it was evasive. We had to actively ask if it is included with our stay or if we have to pay extra. Hot tub and sauna/ steam room are all free, but you have to book in advance.
The facilities are generally very clean, the only down fall we had with the room was that there were hair sticking all over one side of the bathroom walls when we arrived and the drain has very strong unpleasant smell. We contacted the front desk to resolve this, however, those hair on the wall were never removed and we back to the room with a very pungent smell of cleaning products. The drain issue kept coming up during our stay, but we couldn’t be bothered to keep asking the staff to look into it. The instant coffee/ tea and milk sachets were never filled in after our first day. We contacted the staff which they said they will provide the next day but it never happens. We ended up buying our own milk and coffee, which we didn’t mind as we paid for a good price with the room, however, I would expect a 5 stars resort as it stated, to provide some instant coffee sachets that even lower rating hotels would be able to refill them.
To conclude, we enjoyed our stay, with good quality of facilities, good range of food options, friendly staff and well maintained presentation of the resort, we would recommend anyone to stay here for a holiday!

I spent a week at the resort with my wife and two children. My conclusion is that I would absolutely stay here again, as would the rest of my family.
We paid a little extra for a room with a sea view, and I'd recommend doing that as our room was fantastic. There are definitely some rooms around the resort that would have ruined our stay if we'd got one of them (for example a room near the pool near reception, where the evening entertainment is, which could be very loud until late).
The resort is very well laid out and we felt like we kept discovering bits that were tucked away. This may be a weird comment, but the lighting around the resort at night is gorgeous; it really is an attractive looking place.
The food is absolutely fine. The restaurant staff obviously work very hard and there is a lot of demand. Our two fussy eating children always found enough suitable food to keep them happy, so I was also happy. Just don't expect much variation day to day.
My only real negatives about the resort are that you will struggle to get served in those places around the resort where you can't approach the bar (the main restaurant and the Music Bar). There seems to be a "one drink and you're done" attitude from the serving staff. This is generally fine, but I would like more than one drink over a couple of hours of being in the Music Bar in particular. The other negative is not the fault of the resort, but other guests will get up before the pools are open (particularly the larger pool) to reserve sun loungers with towels and then not show up for hours. The resort has signs up asking guests not to do this, but you'll have to just get used to moving people's towels off loungers so that you can use them yourself.
Otherwise, the location is great, the resort is attractive, the staff are all without exception very friendly and helpful, and I highly recommend the place. I would recommend hiring a car as the island is quite large.

Absolutely fantastic resort, we were truly impressed. The hotel is quite remote although you can do a short bus/taxi ride to Lixouri and a ferry ride to Argostoli. The resort is close to the beach. We would certainly recommend trying the taverna called (Sombero) it was one of our favourites as the food was amazing! Apollonion has everything you could want and need including spa, sauna, cinema etc. I definitely recommend booking a spa treatment.
The resort is beautifully surrounded with landscape and the gardens are well looked after and maintained. The food was fantastic with plenty of choice. They also did a beautiful cake for our daughters birthday which was a lovely surprise. The rooms are bright and spacious. All staff are very friendly and helpful, and I highly recommend the place. Were hoping to book again for next year 😊

Amazing hotel. We didn’t want to come home! Loved our stay here at the beginning of June. It was a perfect break for our family with 2 children. We did half board and the food was exceptional, lots of choices. Even food in the day time at pool snack bar were great and not over priced (i
Recommend the gyros is was so good and only around €4) The hotel staff are all very attentive and polite and could not do enough for you. We used taxis from the hotel for trips out and the reception staff would call and arrange this for you. The rooms was cleaned daily with fresh towel. The 2 pools are big so never felt crowded and always plenty of sun beds.
The entertainment staff were brilliant too!
I would visit this hotel again in a heart beat. If you don’t mind being a short taxi ride from the main town lixouri or hiring a car then this is - perfect family hotel.
We did a taxi from airport which was about an hour but you can go across on the ferry.
Outstanding hotel, defiantly would recommend.

We are absolutely loving our holiday at the Apollonion and I cannot recommend it highly enough!
We are staying in one of the rooms with a private pool. The rooms are amazing with a coffee machine, safe, and fridge. The beds are so comfy and I've slept like a baby every night. The cleaners leave our room spotless and are so friendly.
The food is amazing with lots of choices and the waiting staff are extremely attentive and cannot do enough for you. They are so kind to my 4 year old granddaughter.
The grounds are beautiful and clean. All the staff wave and say hello, if you meet anyone. There are 2 swimming pools but we have mainly used the big infinity pool. It is spotlessly clean with lots of sunbeds. The pool bars are lovely and there is lots to do, if you feel energetic.
I really love this beautiful resort on the beautiful island of Kefalonia and we will definitely be visiting again ASAP. ❤️
