Ignore the expensive nightly rate advertised.
We stayed (Feb '26) as part of a package holiday and found Aguamar to be fair value for money. Check-in was good, via friendly and knowledgeable front desk. Our room was ok, a bit tired looking in places but everything worked. However, the pull out sofa bed was uncomfortable, it desperately needed a mattress "topper." No aircon!! Just a ceiling fan. Not a prob in Feb but July? Portable aircon units can be hired locally but check with reception. Pool area spotless, cleaned every morning but be aware flooring is VERY slippery. Sun loungers free but 3 euro a day for mattresses. Free WiFi only around reception and pool bar otherwise paid for WiFi is relatively expensive. Aguamar isn't isolated, there's plenty of supermarkets close by for those self catering and some excellent places to eat out nearby. On balance, I'd be more happy to go back to Aguamar. I think it's honest and good value, just be aware of "extras."

Not a bad base for a budget friendly break to Tenerife! I wouldn’t come here for a weeks holiday as not a great deal in the hotel to do in terms of entertainment for kids or families and no games room or evening entertainment. The pool was nice but the wifi charges are very expensive. Didn’t eat there - - we ate on the beach front so can’t comment on food. If you’re after a decent sized apartment and a clean base to sleep with your family I’d recommend. If you’re the type that likes luxury holidays with entertainment and always something to do it’s probably not going to be for you. I found excursions in Tenerife Generally expensive as well and it’s not as cheap as it once was either for eating and drinking! Had a nice stay overall would use again!

Good sized apartments and unobtrusive staff. There are many bars and restaurants nearby so we don't eat here, stay room only. About a mile downhill to beach and half a mile to town centre. Taxi prices are reasonable so don't use Uber as more expensive.

Rooms were a bit tired, but generally ok. Although I didn't see the need for the bath, when other than letting the shower fill the bath.....!!, there was no to run a bath!
Cleaners only worked 5 days a week and whilst the beds were made up / changed on those days, the rest of apartment was only superficially cleaned (kitchen work surfaces, crockery and utensils weren't cleaned (to be fair, the cleaners usually came late afternoon, by which time, we cleaned up anyway!). Our co-traveller was often left without enough 'bathroom linen'!
WiFi was only free in the pool area, but wasn't great. You had to 'pay' for WiFi in the rooms (not good in this day and age!)
Pool area was kept clean and mostly well managed (there was still 'towel bagging'), although having to pay €3 per day for a sun lounger 'mattress' was daylight robbery (Tip, if you're there for a week or more, seek out the nearby 'Chinese' supermarket and buy your own for €15 - €25 depending on quality!).
Would we go again...? Yes, but only if we couldn't find somewhere nearby in the same area!

Avoid this hotel! Overall we had a lovely holiday but it wasn’t helped by the accommodation.
Pros:
- location (15 minuet walk to the beach and restaurants, 5 minuets to the shop)
- Toilet rolls, washing up liquid, a sponge and bin bags provided
Cons:
- They try very hard to get as much of your money as possible, when we arrived (5pm) we where told our room wasn’t ready and we had to wait in the bar, you have to pay to leave your belongings in a safe so unless you want to carry everything around while you wait for your room you have to pay again. The wifi is extortionate at 5 euros a day or 20 per week, when we were told it’s included. You have to pay to sit by the pool on a sun lounger too. Very much felt like they were trying to rip us off.
- The rooms aren’t cleaned well we found fake eyelashes in our bed and dirt on the floor and in the bath. And they will “clean”your room during your stay but what they mean is they will move your bed sheets around and leave. (That being said the “cleaners” are lovely).
- The person on the front desk is very abrasive and rude. I saw two people complain to her one person about the fact theres no safes in the room and that they had to pay to use the ones in reception and another lady with four children who didn’t want to pay 60 euros for a weeks wifi for her children and the receptionist was smirking and smiling while offering no help at all. It just came across as a rip off and very rude.
- It’s not a non smoking hotel, we barely used our balcony because of all the smoking on balcony’s next to ours.
- Generally outdated. The kettle takes 6 minuets to boil, There’s no taps to run a bath, the fans are slow and if it was hotter it would be difficult to cool the room down. The rooms are dirty and the walls are a strange off white colour, the beds are two slabs of foam stuck onto a frame, the pots and pans are well used, there’s no sharp knifes only a bread knife.
- The hotel got very little sun during the day (visited in December).
Overall the hotel is in a good location, but for what you’re paying I would avoid at all cost. We used it as a bed and to make very slow tea, we spent as little time there as we could as it was overall unpleasant and with the added costs very expensive.
