The view from our room was absolutely stunning, and the location couldn’t be better. The bed was very comfortable, and the bathroom was pleasant and well-designed. Honestly, if the hotel didn’t present itself as a 4-star property and if we hadn’t been welcomed with a “Welcome to Hyatt,” I probably wouldn’t even be writing this review and would’ve just left a high rating. Unfortunately, I can’t give more than 3 stars considering everything else.
The room was quite noisy - during the night the wind was strong, and we could constantly hear the flagpoles squeaking. It was loud enough to disturb our sleep, and even the windows were shaking. I couldn’t help but think that since the hotel wasn’t full and we’d bought an upgrade, we might have been given a quieter room, but fine - we decided to just go with it. Still, it would’ve been an easy fix for a hotel at this level.
Breakfast was… strange. We waited several minutes at the entrance for someone to seat us, and when no one came, we walked in ourselves to find a table. Instead of helping us, one of the staff just told us that we couldn’t sit in certain areas because they were “for special guests.” That felt quite uncomfortable - like you’re a second-class guest. The food itself was mediocre: the made-to-order omelet was nice, but most other items were low quality. The water tasted a bit like tap water (hopefully it was filtered). On the bright side, the variety was decent.
The room didn’t have bathrobes or slippers, though slippers were brought upon request - no issue there, but again, this is supposed to be a 4-star Hyatt, or?
The worst part came before checkout. The day before departure, our room wasn’t cleaned and no fresh towels were provided. At first, I thought maybe someone had accidentally hung the “Do Not Disturb” sign on our door as ours was inside, but later I started to suspect the maid simply skipped the room. On the day of checkout, we were woken up before 9 a.m. by maid knocking - even though checkout is at 12. Then around 10:30 the maid knocked again, insisting that checkout was at 11, which turned out to be completely false (confirmed later at the reception). It just felt like she wanted to finish early.
Overall, the staff’s attitude was odd, and the experience didn’t match what you would expect from a Hyatt-branded 4-star hotel. Nothing was terrible, but the hotel’s claim to be a high-end property just doesn’t hold up.

Could not really fault this hotel where we stayed over the Christmas period, a first for us to be away from home. The hotel is adults only which enhances the holiday vibe for those of us wishing to take a quiet break and is in a fairly quiet area. Our room overlooked the sea (we had upgraded to this category of room) and the views are great, varying with the time of day and the weather. The food, both in the main buffet restaurant and the snacks in the bar was excellent and a varied choice is offered with a theme each night for dinner. The hotel is clean and well maintained, staff are friendly and helpful. We stayed in winter and imagine there is probably a different much busier vibe in the summer months. A great place to base yourself ro venture out and see what this beautiful island has to offer.

Overall, we enjoyed our stay. Nothing extraordinary or offering the extras you might expect from a 4-star hotel, but the food was good, the room was comfortable, and the staff (especially the female team members) were friendly and helpful. The location is also wonderful (despite the plane noise mentioned in many other reviews). Bikes can be rented directly at the hotel, and cycling towards Palma is amazing.
However, what overshadowed our stay and was completely beyond our understanding was the communication before our arrival. The room was initially booked for one person, and we later asked if it could be modified to accommodate two guests. We were told that adding a second person directly at the hotel would cost €50 per night. This seemed completely unreasonable, as the normal difference between one and two guests on Booking.com and on the hotel’s website is €10 per night.
We asked if the modification could be done via Booking.com and were assured it could. Yet, for days, we were completely ignored by the hotel staff, who only responded after several follow-ups and did not accept the modification request from Booking.com. My husband even called reception directly, and after being rudely told that we could proceed with the change at the hotel for €50, the staff member abruptly ended the call, which was both unexpected and completely unprofessional. Eventually, the issue was clarified with another staff member, and the reservation was modified.
Despite the positive aspects of our stay, this experience left a lasting negative impression. We do not plan to return to this hotel, as there are many other accommodations in Palma where guests are treated as welcomed visitors rather than a nuisance.

Just back from a fantastic weekend at the Alou Soul Palma. The hotel is beautifully clean and efficient and the staff couldn't be more helpful. The location is excellent for a short break and only five minutes from the airport. The choice of food is very good and the bar prices are very reasonable. Take a tip: become a Hyatt Club member and get the upgraded rooms. We had a huge terrace with a Bali bed. You also get a free mini bar and access to a lounge that gives you free drinks and snacks all day. Can't wait to return!

A fabulous hotel, incredible staff and service, beautiful rooms and lovely food! What more could you ask for! We loved it so much we booked an extra night! The My Favourite package is well worth the extra cost for snacks, soft drinks, coffee and beers - and the in-room facilities and rooftop pool are amazing. We have a home on the Island and won’t hesitate to stay here again when we are in the area! Special thanks to Pilar and David on reception for their help and kindness! We hope to see you again very soon!
