Beautiful resort with great amenities. Perfect swimming pools, a good restaurant (cafeteria), and a lovely beach. It's a great base for exploring the surrounding area. The staff is also super friendly.
However, minus one star for the rooms. If you're a bit unlucky with your neighbors, you will experience constant noise disturbance. Barking dogs, people talking on balconies late into the night, and you can hear every single footstep from the neighbors upstairs and next to you. It honestly felt like our neighbors were remodeling their entire living room every single night, and the kids running a marathon. For this price, I would expect a bit better.
PS: management dealt with our complaints and reached out on a regular base. Good customer service!

A great place for the family. Lots of swimming pools, though two were closed when we were there, no notice from staff or on their website about it. The towel service is a money grab, you pay 5 euro per person then 10 euro deposit per person, which you do get back, and cash only and only can be done at the front desk. Save yourself and bring your own towels, though I personally think having towels available at the pool and having the ability to grab when needed would be a worth while investment. Might as well bring your own swimming caps as well, the only indoor heated pool has a swimming cap REQUIREMENT, not sure why this pool only, but its 4 euros per cap to buy at their little shop, felt like another money grab. The outdoor pools are cool, especially in early April. The food at the restaurants were....meh, can get better else where for cheaper or at least better quality for the same price. Shopping at the local mart is more expensive then leaving the resort naturally, so consider that as well, convenience over price. Over all, this is a great place to bring the kids, the beaches are stunning, the grounds are well kept. The rooms are admittedly dated but we stayed at the Alfagar Village which is the oldest, and also didn't splurge on a sea view so we had a garden view. The room felt like entering a dark cave but served its purpose, and we enjoyed the extra large patio that our room happened to come with. Kids activities were fun, the water park was ok, soccer and tennis courts for those who enjoy playing.

This is a truly beautiful place. It feels like walking through a park. The views of the ocean from here are simply breathtaking.
The entire complex is very clean and well-maintained. We rented a house, and everything was perfect. It really felt like coming to your own countryside home to relax.
The house has everything you need: a stove, oven, microwave, kettle, coffee maker, and refrigerator. Everything was clean. Bed linens and trash were taken care of every other day.
There are many cafés and restaurants nearby for those who prefer not to cook. Another big plus is the number of supermarkets close by (Intermarché, Lidl, Aldi) with a good selection of products - except for tomatoes. It felt like tomatoes were “worth their weight in gold” there: either too green or simply unavailable. So one of our missions while traveling in southern Portugal was to find ripe tomatoes 🙂
The staff is friendly and welcoming.
Our family was very happy with the stay. We will definitely come back!

Stayed 7 days in Alfagar & from start to finish it was just perfect! It was our first holiday abroad with our two young girls & it was everything we hoped for! The location is ideal with all you need right on your doorstep, the staff are so friendly & accommodating & our apartment was spotless & so big! The complex has so many different pools to suit kids & adults with water slides, indoor pools & playgrounds. In the complex their is 2 mini marts & a Spar just up the road(Bigger selection). The beach is a 5 minute walk & is just absolutely beautiful & very private!
I would recommend to any family, we are already planning our next visit!

We have stayed at the Alfagar village for the last 3 years and it is fantastic for children and adults alike. Initially we stayed in the hotel although the last 2 times we have been in the village. Both options are great and i highly recommend either. There are 2 indoor swimming pools for when the weather is not great and then 3 large outside swimming pool areas with plenty of loungers. The pools are very clean and enjoyable. There are 2 bars in the hotel area offering alcoholic drinks and good food options. There is also a gym on site. The rooms are clean and adequate for your needs. The staff are very welcoming and attentive. There is also a mini market on site which enables self catering.
