Just came back from an eight night stay there. I'm giving it a 5 star- with no hesitation. The place is clean, rooms are superb with a stunning views. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Kitchen is fully equipped; everything was new in there. Rooms have a fresh paint on and they look lovely. Our room got cleaned every other day- clean towels and bedding too. Each room had a blackout curtains and we have slept soundly. Also there is an air-conditioning unit in each room. The mattresses are extremely comfy! There is a safe too and you don't need to pay any deposit for it. The reception has a scale and it makes it so easy to check the luggage weight for a €1.
Location is fantastic, only 8 min to the main square. There are multiple steps to the Old town so perhaps not suitable for someone with mobility issues. We have used an app Bolt for taxis and it was only between 3 and 4 euro. If you are self catering and fancy cooking- Aldi and Lidl are only 10 min away walking or €3 away by Bolt. Also there is a big supermarket called Continental and has everything you need.
The hotel has 2 swimming pools, and you may think there are small- however the Alfagar 2 has a lovely pool and there were hardly any guests there. We had pool to ourselves for almost all day on Tuesday. It's only 2 min walk from the reception. There are always plenty of sun loungers there.
Wi-fi is the hotel and we never had a problem with it as it has a good speed.
If you want to do your laundry there is a facility on site.
Bar is at the main pool so you can buy some drinks and water.
We could go on and on but we can't recommend this place enough. We are definitely coming back next year!

Check-in was disappointing, the receptionist didn't provide any info about the hotel and/or the city. We were asked to pay for our stay in a pretty cold and rude way.
Room 308 was smelling clean, however upon inspection we found out it was not cleaned at all. We found potato chips under our bed, hairs and a shampoo bottle cap in the bathroom.
Water was never hot during our stay, just warm. We complained to the receptionist (the same receptionist who checked us in), receptionist pressed a random button on the wall and told us we were going to have hot water in 30 mins. That didn't happen at all.
A few times we tried to call the reception from our room to complain about the hot water, no one ever answered.
On our second day we asked to make up the room by putting the sign out of the door, room was not cleaned and we were only provided with cleaner towels. Hairs and shampoo cap were still in the bathroom's floor.
On our third day we asked again to make up our room, but the room was never cleaned. They did not even go inside at all. We arrived at the afternoon and the sign was still in the door.
The shower curtain was not fitting the bathtub well and after every shower bathroom floor was full of water, there was no way to avoid it.
WiFi signal was weak and, when working, it was working poorly.
Definitely, not to come back.

Decent place! Rooms are alright, standard but clean, the steps down to the square are a killer but all in all a good location with lovely views. Reception staff really friendly and helpful.

Loud banging from renovations in the next unit starting at 9am everyday while we stayed here really put a damper on our stay. Location is ok, lots of stairs back and forth from the beach/main attractions, which would be ok if you're not traveling with kids or older people. Amenities are clean, no hotel breakfast or restaurant. Pool is clean and has a snack bar. Music is good. Not a bad place but also not the greatest because of location. Very spotty wifi.

Recently stayed here for 10 days with our family . We ranged in age from 1year to 67 years
We had 3 apartments 2 apartments in malpique 1 and 1 apartment in malpique 2. All apartments were lovely. We were in 509. And 505 at. Malpique 1 both rooms had a sea and pool view with a balcony and air conditioning and my son and family were in 206 in malpique 2. The sites are a few minutes walk from each other The apartments were spotlessly clean and very spacious . Beds were huge and large sofa bed in lounge.
Kitchen was very well equipped with fridge oven hob ,microwave and cofee machine , my Sons apartment 206 did not have an oven just a hob and microwave . The TV had English channels and there was a safe in the bedroom which was free of charge to use .
.Rooms were cleaned every other day .Staff were all very friendly and helpful.
Both sites have pools Malpique 2 also has a small splash pool for little ones.
We were a bit concerned of some reviews that mentioned stag and hen parties .There were a few groups of younger girls and lads but this was no problem . They did not cause any issues , they were just having a good time. Sometimes a little noisy when they came home in the early hours. We have stayed in far noiser places and this would not put us off returning
Aldi and lidl are within a few minutes walk .
There are quite a lot of steps down in to the town square which took around 10 mins to walk. Bare this in mind if you have kids in buggies. Not very suitable if you have mobility issues but Uber cabs were good value at around 4 euros into town square.
We would definitely recommend the apartments and would stay here again 😀
Thank you Malpique staff
