Op stap met MAY Vlog
We stayed for two weeks at the Abora Interclub Hotel, and we were treated so well! The animation team was absolutely fantastic — there was so much to do for both kids and adults. The shows and activities were super fun! Everyone on the staff was incredibly friendly, and they all spoke multiple languages. Definitely a place we’d recommend! The rooms were also very clean, and we had such a great time.
Big thanks to everyone at Abora for the amazing service!
And special thanks to Ali the boss for the delicious cocktails.
Once again — it was just amazing!

A lovely hotel that feels good value for money, but a few minor things make it less than perfect.
The staff are great, friendly and attentive. The food quality is good and they have good provision for allergies (but it can mean having to speak with the friendly chefs almost daily about what you can have as not everything is labelled). Aside from the main restaurant, there isn't much food that allergy sufferers are likely to be able to eat in the snack bars.
Choice of all inclusive drinks is good but cocktails are the familiar sugary premixed types that most all inclusive resorts offer.
The pools are awesome for the kids having water slides, etc. that are big enough to make even older kids happy.
There isn't really a dedicated indoor bar area as it's a shared space that includes reception, making it busy and noisy almost all the time. In fact, it is quite difficult to find a quiet corner anywhere on the hotel site - even the adult only pool area suffers with noise from the entertainment going on in the main pools.
The hotel advertises it has a gym. While this is technically true, it is an outdoor calesthenics climbing frame that was mostly occupied by kids, and means you have to exercise in 30C plus sun/heat the whole time. There is also a sports court that offers football and basketball, and table tennis and pool tables near the pool bar area and elsewhere.
The hotel is set on the top of a hill a little outside San Augustin itself and is an easy 10 mins walk to the beach, but all uphill on the way back. Being on a hill though, the views are great in some areas of the hotel and grounds.

We stayed at Abora Interclub for 8 days in August, traveling as three generations: myself, my mom, and my 1-year-old daughter. Overall, we had a lovely holiday and enjoyed many aspects of the hotel, though there are some areas that could be improved.
What we really enjoyed:
- The staff were wonderful – always warm, smiling, and especially kind to our daughter. The cleaners in particular were so sweet to her every day, which made us feel very welcome.
- The food at breakfast, lunch, and dinner was quite good for an all-inclusive setup. There was plenty of choice, and although the variety across days wasn’t huge, you could still be creative with combinations. Quality was generally good, with the exception of some fish dishes.
- Our family room was a good size for 2 adults and a child, with enough space to move around.
- The animation team struck a great balance – they were friendly and engaging, but not pushy. You could take part or just relax, and they made a real effort to include different languages.
- There were always enough sunbeds available, which made the pool days stress-free.
- The children’s pool and water play area were fantastic – our baby loved crawling around the sprinklers!
Where we think there’s room for improvement:
- The snack corner looked appealing, but the food there was always the same (fruit, hotdogs, hamburgers, fries) and not very fresh after sitting out. A little more variety or fresher turnover would make a big difference.
- Not everything felt truly “all-inclusive.” For example, you had to pay extra for the safe, for towel changes, and even for bottled water in the room. The lack of a small daily water bottle felt especially inconvenient with a baby who needs clean water for bottles – paying more than €3 per bottle in the restaurant area didn’t feel right.
- The fridge in the room turned out not to be a proper fridge but more of a “cooling box,” which isn’t really what you expect when it’s advertised as a fridge.
- The hotel isn’t in the nicest surrounding area – there aren’t many shops or a boulevard within walking distance.
- The children’s play area could use more shade, as it’s almost fully in the sun, which is tough in summer. Also, the ground surface (sand and small stones) isn’t great for crawling babies as it can scratch their legs. It’s more suited to older kids.
Other notes that might help future visitors:
- The walk to the nearest beach (with a stroller, avoiding stairs) is about 15 minutes. It’s a pleasant walk and once there, you can rent two sunbeds and an umbrella for €9.
- The hotel shuttle to the beach only runs twice daily (9:00 and 11:30), and seats can fill up quickly.
- A taxi to Playa del Inglés costs €8–9 one way, so it’s an easy option if you want more variety.
Overall:
We had a nice stay, thanks in large part to the wonderful staff, the food, and the family-friendly pool areas. For families with young children, the lack of included water and the setup of the play area are worth noting, but if those details were improved, the hotel would be much stronger.

Just had 10 days here and I will definitely be coming back. The staff are so friendly and very helpful the cleaners do an amazing job on your room the food was awesome the only complaint is they need to have bigger tea cups out throughout the day.. the complex itself is really nice the adult pool is great and has a help yourself drinks bar with soft drinks beer and wine.. the food variety is enormous there's something for everyone the entertainment is good in the evenings the cocktail bar is very good try the vodka sun it's lush there's a late night snack bar for a quick burger or hotdogs on the way back from the entertainment the weather was hot I got sun poisoning which hurt ALOT but there's a pharmacy on site that helped I would highly recommend abora to anyone it has everything you need for that sweet getaway ill be booking to come back again soon

We stayed at the Abora Interclub in Gran Canaria for a week as a family of three (my husband, myself, and our 21-month-old), and we couldn’t have been happier with our choice.
Our room was very spacious and comfortable, which made it easy for us to relax as a family. The entire hotel was spotless – from the rooms to the communal areas, everything was kept exceptionally clean.
One of the highlights for us was the kids’ entertainment. There was so much for our little one to do, and it really made the holiday enjoyable and stress-free. The facilities overall were great, and it’s clear the hotel is very family-friendly.
The location was another big plus: close to both the beach and the airport, making everything very convenient. The staff were consistently lovely, welcoming, and helpful, which really added to the overall experience.
Considering the excellent price, we felt the holiday was fantastic value for money – everything we got far exceeded our expectations.
