Do not waste your money on a Seaview room as it is not possible from the hotel. We were so disappointed with our upgrade as a tint balcony and the view is the next door hotel with the sea beyond it.
The hotel has a lot of large, unused spaces that could be better designed to ease congestion in the busier areas.
To start, if you’ve already booked and are reading this, there’s no need to worry — the stay is perfectly fine, but the property is in need of some serious updating. We arrived on Boxing Day for a week (and are still here), and it is very much a typical all-inclusive resort. There are simply too many guests for the current staff levels and facilities. This was a last-minute booking for us, and we wouldn’t usually choose this style of accommodation.
The rooms, hotel, and dining areas are hygienically clean, but clearly worn. Door frames are coming away, furniture is tired, and many items throughout the hotel — including chairs and sunbeds — are stained or wobbly. That said, everything does work as it should.
The food is pleasant but repetitive. The staff work hard but struggle to keep up with demand, as everyone tends to eat at the same times. Food often runs out quickly and can take a while to be replenished.
Sunbed availability is an issue. Guests reserve them early, which is understandable given the shortage, but this really should be managed better, especially when beds are left unused for hours.
One of the highlights is the stunning beach at the bottom of the road, where we spend most of our time to escape the hustle and bustle of the hotel.
Overall, the staff are friendly, as are the other guests, which does make the stay pleasant. With some investment and better use of space, this hotel could be much improved

Our family of 7 (5 adults, a teen, and a toddler) recently returned from a wonderful 8-night stay at Jandia Mar. Despite the January dates, the weather was beautiful—hitting highs of 23°C (feeling like 26°C)—which was perfect for sunbathing and swimming in both the pool and the ocean.
The Room & Amenities:
The rooms were spacious, clean, and well-equipped with a TV and mini-fridge. The bathrooms were also impressively large. While the "Ultra Inclusive" upgrade was offered at €19 per person/night, we found the standard inclusive package sufficient for our needs.
Activities & Facilities:
Food: Great variety with plenty of options for different dietary requirements.
Entertainment: Engaging activities for all ages throughout the day and evening. The teen game room (arcade) stays open until 11 PM.
Convenience: On-site shops, a kids' club (ages 4+), and several bars.
Note: Pool towels require a €20 deposit (cash or card), and there is a €2 fee per towel change.
Area for Improvement:
The only downside was the service. We found the staff to be less friendly and helpful than we’ve experienced at other resorts, which was a bit disappointing.
Verdict: Overall, we highly recommend this hotel, especially for families!

Actually writing this as I’m still here haha. So far i’ve had a pretty good time, I love the rooms, the bathrooms are honestly really great and the balcony/terraces are amazing too. The pools are also amazing, and it’s really good this all inclusive has tons of branded drinks. I especially love all the cats around the hotel 🐈, the beach nearby is absolutely lovely too. My only complaints really are is the food isn’t that great and some of the staff are quite rude, I also wish there was more signage, saying this as I went into the snack bar not too long after swimming (i did dry myself off but i didn’t notice i was dripping to be honest), I didn’t see any signs prior for this as there’s legit 1 where most people aren’t looking telling you not to go in if you’re wet, which although I do agree with the logistics of that rule, the staff member didn’t need to aggressively tell me and could’ve done it a lot more calmly. Another example is me and my partner went to play around in the splash park area in the waterpark, there was no signs indicating this but it was kids only area although the staff were a lot more respectful telling us this in this instance but this also wasn’t advertised anywhere on our booking either. My last complaint is there’s been a few times now where I’ve gone to get dinner and you are bombarded with photographers taking pictures of you without permission and it has made me quite a bit uncomfortable at times. Especially since there’s no way around them if you wanna get to the buffet. I do also love the room size, some people talk about them being outdated but I really like them and how colourful they are :-)

I am rating the Occidental Jandia Mar based on value for money, on this basis it's a resounding 4 out of 5. Less than £1400 for an all inclusive package holiday for 16 nights from Leeds Bradford with Jet2 (I travelled alone), too good to pass by!
Positives -
Large, clean room, serviced daily by the cleaning staff.
Large choice of food from the buffet restaurant. I heard some guests say that there was little variety each day and this was true however the choice was extensive and well cooked.
Drinks, a well stocked bar with plenty of choice, all inclusive choices included popular brands not just local beers and spirits.
Evening entertainment, a good variety of singers, acrobats, jugglers etc.. Most were high quality, not low budget acts that I've seen on other holidays.
Friendly staff, always willing to help.
Gym - decent equipment with good air conditioning
Pool - the main pool was closed for refurbishment during my stay however the second pool was perfectly adequate.
Not so positive-
Location- I actually liked the fact that it was approximately 3kms from the nearest town, Morro Jable, as it was good exercise to walk there each day. Shops and restaurants line the route after the first 1km. There is a steep descent from reception down to the main road that runs alongside the beach, this is 500m in length and the return journey involves the hike back up. This could be a challenge for some, I certainly heard some people breathing heavily and pausing to have a rest. Dipping your toes in the ocean is a further 350m from the main road, a total distance of 850m from reception. I'd suggest anyone wanting easy access to the beach to look further towards Morro Jable as the coastline is much closer to shops/hotels/restaurants.
Noise - I stayed at the start of December therefore the hotel was relatively quiet, no issues. The problem was the location of my room in block 9. Blocks 7, 8 and 9 have balconies that overlook a road. Although this isn't a main road, traffic (including wagons) use this from as early in the morning as 5am. There is little/no noise insulation from the patio doors leading onto the balcony. The walls are also thin, the family next door weren't excessively loud however I could hear everything. The last thing woke me up wondering what was happening on the first morning......the resident birds! They are some sort of little egret and they emit a deafening sound. For some reason this tends to be around 6.30am to 7.00am and if they're close to your room it's quite alarming. In my opinion they should be on the menu for breakfast, lunch and dinner!
In summary, the hotel exceeded my expectations. Yes, it could benefit from some refurbishment, yes, there are smarter more modern hotels, and yes, the noise bothered me at times however I had a lovely stay and would definitely consider a return trip.

Had an amazing few days at this hotel however a few minor things could have been better.
The minibar in our room didn’t work, we reported it to reception and they said someone from maintenance would check it but no one did.
The restaurant was a bit chaotic at times. One evening we found a free table and asked the waiter if we could sit there to which he said yes, then about 10 minutes later a different member if staff came over and rudely told us that the area was reserved for a special group and we shouldn’t be sat there?!
On a positive note, the room was nice, bed comfortable and the pool area well kept. Would return again in the future.
