We had a recent 5 night stay at Excellence Riveria Cancun. We enjoyed our stay and thought everyone there was fantastic, especially our morning tennis clinics with Alex.
We thought the food was great but was slightly disappointed that some of the restaurants took over two hours from start to finish. While this is a very minor complaint, it would be nice to limit dining to an hour or hour and a half.
Drinks and lounging were fantastic, wait staff in the excellence club were especially great. Staff would always be checking in to see if you needed anything, including your sunglasses being cleaned.
The beach was clean, staff would be manicuring it in the mornings before heavy use.
Rooms are starting to show their age but do not detract from the stay, but it would be nice to see an update.
Transportation between the resort and the airport was a breeze, so that was a relief to be able to get from the airport tarmac to the resort in a little over an hour. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay.

We had an amazing time at Excellence Riviera Cancun. The most impressive thing was how incredibly nice the staff is. Every one goes out of their way to make sure your stay is as good as possible! The food was really good. We only wish Agave restaurant was open more nights. We were not able to eat there at all because it's closed 3 nights a week. But we did go to the Mexican fiesta and the food and entertainment were amazing! The only thing we would add is more nightly entertainment, such as dancing, and later hours.

My wife and I went for our 10 year anniversary and it was everything we could have hoped for. There are so many pools that it never felt crowded and all the pools were so warm and relaxing. Everything we had to eat at the resort was also incredible, if we were to have a similar dinner back home it would have easily been a $150+ USD dinner. Every single person working at the resort from the waiters/waitresses to the bartenders to the landscapers and so on all seemed to be very happy to be there and made it a very enjoyable experience! 5/5 we will be back and have already started looking into the other resorts in the Excellence collection as well. Thank you for a great anniversary and a very relaxing vacation!

My friends and I stayed here for a girls trip for 5 days in May, and we were blown away by the resort. So many amenities, restaurants and services, we did not have time to use them all!! The restaurants serve different cuisines, so you do not really get bored and the beach side service is amazing and consistent. The real highlight is the staff, everyone was incredible and welcoming. Oswaldo, Vanessa and Alex the tennis instructor made our stay incredible and we learned a lot from them by the activities we did with them. There are so many things to do through out the day, so if you do not want to be at the amazing beach or pool all day, you can do activities such as bike rides, archery, pickleball, volleyball and tennis. Alex, the tennis instructor is incredible and a professional, he really takes the time to teach regardless of the skill level and his friendliness makes him an incredible coach. I cannot wait to re-book here with my husband, so he too can enjoy this wonderful experience :)

An incredible return stay at Excellence Riviera Cancun! The resort grounds are stunning and meticulously maintained by a hard-working gardening crew (we loved seeing all the wildlife, especially Mabel the cat!).
Activities: The entertainment team kept us having fun all week. Kaleb was a standout guide on our bike ride—so helpful and knowledgeable.
Beach: Pristine! The new sea barriers and tractor clean-up meant there was almost zero sargassum. Swimming was wonderful, and beach waiters Santos and Benjamin treated us like royalty, remembering our orders by day two.
Food: The Kitchen Table was our favorite for breakfast and lunch buffets (shoutout to Yulisa, Carlos, Eduardo, and Christian!). Flavor Market was excellent as always thanks to William. At Spice, the standard menu was fabulous and Adrian gave us great service, though the Hibachi experience was a bit less engaging than in years past.
Service: A massive thank you to Fernando (F&B Manager). He handled a minor restaurant issue swiftly and beautifully, making us feel like absolute VIPs for the rest of our trip.
We had a fantastic time and are already planning our next trip back!
