This hotel is a gem in the Vilamoura area. Easy beach access, great pool area. Food is available poolside or inside/outside. Great selection of foods for every taste. Only complaint is that this restaurant asks for tips for every meal service where no other restaurant in Vilamoura does this. It is a customer put off. Spa downstairs is really nice.

The hotel was fantastic and very modern, one of the best hotels in the area. The rooms were perfect and very clean, the included breakfast was a nice touch too.
For the price it was very worthwhile and I’m glad I stayed here! The hotel also had a lovely aroma when you walked in and was very pleasant to spend time in. The spa was perfect with a spacious steam room, sauna and peaceful pools.
One thing I felt could’ve been improved slightly was the service, it wasn’t bad by any means but it wasn’t something I found to be outstanding like many 5* hotels, however the majority of staff were very pleasant and accommodating. Also the lobby music wasn’t for me personally, I feel as though classic hotel lobby music such as jazz would've been that extra touch to make the full experience feel premium.
Overall I think this Crowne Plaza is great and I would definitely recommend it to anyone wanting to stay in Vilamoura!

Such a lovely hotel. I would definitely recommend this beautiful hotel. The staff were lovely and friendly. We had the breakfast every morning. Everything was fresh and so tasty. They brought me out a birthday cake on my birthday. I'm guessing they seen it on my passport as we didn't tell them! Lovely cake too. I felt so special thank you xx We went out of season at the beginning of March, so it was quite but it did pick up as we left.

This place was mostly disappointing. It’s a classic old Crowne Plaza on the beach, but within walking distance from very little. We enjoyed beautiful walks on the beach, the pool was lovely, and there were a few shops nearby, but otherwise we had to drive. The hotel itself is old, but has been updated nicely. The part we didn’t like was the service- and it wasn’t that the staff wasn’t friendly or helpful. When booking, I chose a room with a partial ocean view and to add the breakfast buffet to our room option and then ended up using some IHG loyalty points to lower the cost a bit (it was still costly). Usually as loyalty customers we are given a bit of an upgraded room upon checkin, even just a couple of floors up, but we were given a room on the 1st floor, with barely a partial ocean view overlooking a sad patio of stored outdoor furniture. It was fine, but even with points, this was an expensive room and it was disappointing. Even more frustrating, it turned out, and we only discovered this upon checking, that by using points, we were not eligible for the buffet to be included in the cost (which meant that we paid the same room price as using no points without breakfast- what a waste). We agreed to still have the buffet because we had heard it was amazing only to discover it was 40 euros each !!! We decided to do something a little more a la carte, and were told that only buffet customers were allowed in the restaurant. So we walked down the hall to the other service areas and there was nothing else open or available for breakfast or even a coffee. May is shoulder season, but there needs to be more than one option for guests for breakfast. We ended up walking 15 minutes nearby to a little coffee shop. The whole experience and our time there felt like the hotel was living on a legend of being a grand hotel, but yet we were overwhelmed by overcharging and under providing, right down to the cost of the coffee pod in the rooms. Super disappointing, but maybe it’s all amazing during peak season?

Our first time visiting Portugal/The Algarve and we certainly made the right choice in booking the Crowne Plaza.
Unfortunately we were there for 2 weeks during the storms, meaning we spent more time in the hotel room than we normally would - the heating in the room certainly came in handy - there were numerous occasions when we couldn't open the balcony doors without being blown off our feet - but the bedroom was super-cosy!
Everything about the large bedroom was faultless - massive bed with oh-so comfy mattress and pillows, so much wardrobe and drawer space for clothes/luggage storage, large dressing table and ample seating area. The bathroom was superb (still don't quite understand the floor to ceiling glass partition between the bedroom and bathroom 🤣) and massive walk-in shower area. The balcony was a good size with 2 large chairs and a table, and still plenty of room to walk around. (We had a 6th floor room on the Vilamoura side, with side sea view.)
The buffet breakfast was amazing - so much choice - just about anything you could want (including a glass of Prosecco if you were so inclined!). One slight 'niggle' - the hot food wasn't always as hot as it could have been, but that's a minor issue.
All the staff members were helpful, friendly and professional - Claudia on Reception was brilliant.
All areas of the hotel were spotlessly clean - members of the cleaning staff definitely having their work cut out when the rains came!
Another 'niggle' was the charge of €2.50 per coffee capsule once the 4 free ones had been used - petty for a 5* hotel! Not a problem coming from Yorkshire - we bought boxes of 10 capsules from the Supermarkets for €2.60🙃).
The only other fault was with the Restaurant. On the 1st evening our main course was brought to the table before we'd finished our starter. It was returned to the kitchen and presumably kept warm because when my 'rare' steak was served it had become 'medium' (not good enough for a 5*). Thinking this had been a 'one off' we gave them a 2nd chance. Disaster! This time the main course was brought THREE times before our starter was finished. Apparently the Restaurant policy is for the main course to be served 10 minutes after the starter!
Do yourselves a favour - book B&B and eat out, there are loads of great eating places near the hotel serving superb food at great prices.
The hotel only lost the 1* for service due to the issue with the Restaurant.
We had a fabulous holiday despite the weather - loads of walking and cycling - we hired bikes for 3 days at the end of our 2 weeks once the weather picked up.
