I can understand why many people feel disappointed with their rooms upon arrival. When we booked through the Love Holidays website, the photos showed beautiful, newly refurbished rooms. However, when we got here, we were taken to an old, dark building with a dated room. It felt quite misleading. The hotel should be more transparent and show accurate images of the budget rooms to manage expectations properly.
After expressing our concerns, we requested an upgrade and were shown a much nicer room with a private pool. While the room looked great, the bed was very uncomfortable, which made it difficult to sleep well. Additionally, the “deluxe” section of the hotel is located between two busy roads, so there’s constant noise from cars, motorbikes, and pedestrians.
The bathroom is also quite cramped. Each time we used the shower, water would leak out into the rest of the room.
Before checkout, we asked about a late checkout and were told we could stay until 12 p.m. However, we were surprised when someone knocked on our door around 10:30 a.m. to tell us we needed to leave. This lack of communication was frustrating and made us feel rushed.
On the positive side, the staff are genuinely lovely—friendly, helpful, and always willing to assist. The hotel is just a 5-minute walk from the beach, and I highly recommend visiting Bocca Beach House Bar. Nisos Bar is also right next to the hotel and they own the large pool featured in many of the photos.

If I could give no stars, I would have done it. When we arrived at the hotel we were greeted by two ladies at the front desk. They told us that, since we were only there for a few days, she had a wonderful deal for us. Since we "only" booked economy we could upgrade for a sum of €20 euro per night to a better room with a small swimming pool. She then literally said that the other rooms were no good. To which I replied "that is not a good way to promote your hotel". We were invited to look at the rooms we were getting with the upgrade, which we did. The rooms were nice, clean and fairly simple, not too small. Just standard size. The extra was a small pool on the patio.
We went back to the reception and told the lady, we would take the regular rooms. The lady looked slightly irritated and started to search for a couple of keys, all the while speaking in Greek to the other lady and a gentleman (grounds keeper?). The man took us to another location, 2 buildings away en gave us the keys to our rooms.
As we should have expected, these rooms were the worst. The sink was not attached to the wall anymore. There was mold everywhere and the light fixtures hung from the walls.
To not spoil our small vacation we caved in and paid the extra for the upgraded room.
We feel scammed by the reception staff and we will never ever come back to, or recommend, this hotel!
Sidenote, this was during low season, so the hotel was not even half filled up to capacity. If hotel staff treat their guests this way, they do not give a shit about their guests!
Update: the response after our complaint to the booking agency was as expected. The hotel takes no blame and places the responsibility on their guests, as we were the ones who "willingly accepted" the upgrade. Ofcourse we did, after you put us in "the rooms we booked", who were sub-standard for a 1 star hotel, let alone a 4 Star Hotel! Stay away from this hotel!

There are good qualities and bad qualities to this hotel - I will list below.
I stayed here for a week and booked through love holidays - do not book through love holidays as it is a scam, they do not allow you to book certain rooms unless it is a suite (which includes a private pool etc..) which I did not want for just me and my friend so, automatically it booked us a simple double room with a balcony, little did we know the first room they took us to after check in was dark, dingy and NOT what we expected and very upsetting after a long flight.. and also very far from the newly renovated hotel rooms/space (4buildings away) thankfully after talking with reception they took us to another room downstairs which is still not the photos advertised but much better and brighter (aka working lights) and much more roomy just unfortunate we were taken so far from the hotel because, at times late at night being two young women we felt unsafe.
GOOD:
. The location is amazing right in the centre of Alikanas, the town is a 2minute walk away with plenty of shops and restaurants!!
. A 15minute walk from Alkyes beach which was beyond beautiful. Charged £20 for a set of loungers but also came with wifi and table service with delicious food and drinks! Crystal clear water with lots of fish and we saw a turtle!
. The staff are very helpful (a young girl in particular) and book taxis through a private service they offer which is speedy and easy! You pay them at the desk which is much easier in my opinion. And if running low on cash there is an ATM at the front of reception! Max time we waited was 20minutes for a taxi.
. There are two local shops near the hotel, one is a spar which sells everything you could want when on holiday and is super handy! A minute walk from reception!
. The pool area is beautiful, it is a communal pool for others to use also but it is the Nisos Restaurant so grab a lounger early-ish in the morning, also comes with wifi and table service (the pizza is delicious and big portions) and LOADS of drinks options such as; smoothies milkshakes, cocktails, mocktails etc...
The pool is huge along with being beautiful with tropical plants and palm trees.
. The room we stayed in was good enough for us as we just slept and got dressed there, white clean beds, powerful shower (yet very small) and roomy with a balcony with a view of the mountains.
BAD:
. On arrival you have to pay extra for air con, this was not advertised when I originally booked this months back and now has been updated on love holidays. It was £10 a night... :/
Usually air con is standard when abroad but, seems they want to take extra cash even thought I've paid over 1k for my vacation..
Thankfully it worked very well for the cost!
. My friend's bed was extremely squeaky which you don't expect when paying so much money. Does need to be sorted as woke us both up during the night.
. The toilet seat was broken in our room, not good. It's a simple thing to fix for guests which have paid a lot of money for their vacation so please do so.
. Our room was unfortunately quite a distance from the newly renovated part of the hotel, late at night we did not feel the safest when walking back as two young women and no street lights.
. Breakfast in the morning was 5/10 just a bit boring and not many options. It was the same stuff everyday, only one option of cold drink and the toast machine broke the one day.. :/ definitely need more variety of food options. Plenty of seating and near reception.
Overall, I would go back to this hotel but I would book the suite next time as guaranteed the rooms advertised then, the location is 10/10, the beach is 10/10, the pool is 10/10, and service was very helpful 8/10. :)

This hotel is a scam and a huge let down. You pay for what looks like a lovely 4 star hotel that shows pictures of modern rooms and a beautiful pool, but they put you in the old part of the hotel with run down rooms that smell, are dark, loud, and with many needed upgrades. You cannot even opt to book a room in the modern part of the hotel until you arrive.
When you check in, they immediately charge you an absurd tourism tax (and pretend its a 4* hotel to justify asking for more money), try to get you to pay €200+ for an upgraded room in the newer part of the hotel, and other additional fees for using the safe, air conditioning, or daily towel changes.
We refused the upgrade, and our room was old and dark with rickety beds, plug sockets that were loose and sketchy, a toilet that made an absolute racket when flushed, a drain that overflowed when showering, and a front door that would not lock. The fridge was broken and dirty, and the 'kitchen' was awful, with the hob tripping the electric each time it was used. We had to ask staff for help to fix some of these issues and while many were helpful, some did not understand what we were asking about and attempted to check us out of our room.
The room designs are very poor, as maisonettes with upstairs areas for families go across the top of single rooms (like ours) so families checking in late at night woke us up trying to get suitcases up the stairs (not their fault, but the hotels poor design).
Much of the strip along the street outside the hotel is owned by Letsos, including the pool bar, Nisos, which is advertised as though you have exclusive access as a hotel guest but is actually open to the public for free and there are often local kids causing chaos in the afternoons.
The pool bar itself has additional fees, where you have to place a deposit of €70 euros to use certain beds, and some staff will force you to tip if you ask to pay by card.
Overall, this area is lovely however our time was spoiled by staying in a hotel run and owned by greedy people who like to scam their way into fortune. DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL!!!
