I really appreciate the wonderful hotel staff, they’re always friendly, smiling, and ready to help. The whole area is clean and nicest maintained, the food is delicious. Breakfast on the balcony comes with a stunning view. There’s also a shop on-site with all the essentials. With two swimming pools, you’ll never have to worry about finding a free sunbed. The rooms may not have the newest standard of furnishings, but they are clean and reasonably priced.

When we checked in at the hotel, we had no expectations at all after reading negative reviews online. But we were so positively surprised! The negative reviews were very exaggerated! The hotel was very calm with families, elderly people, couples, but also young people. The staff were incredibly friendly, from helping us with recommendations, booking a taxi, to making the perfect drink at the bar! The hotel had a very basic all-inclusive, where you got exactly what you needed! We are so happy with the hotel! One thing that can be good to know, which we didn’t know, is that you need to bring your own towels for the pool/beach. We didn’t know this but could easily buy a cheap towel at the shop next to the hotel. Another useful thing to know is that it’s good to bring large water bottles to fill up. You could refill water at the pool bar and at the restaurant! Many reviews complained about the food and said it wasn’t good, but we felt that there was a variety of main dishes at every meal. There were always nice salads, pasta and sauces, and then other main dishes that varied. The only downside was that if you don’t eat pork, many options disappeared, but you still wouldn’t go hungry. The desserts at the meals were also really good, which in our experience with other all-inclusive hotels is not very common. There was also a beach close to the hotel, and the hotel offered a bus transfer there, which was really convenient since the walk can be a bit long. Good to know is that the sunbeds at the beach are not free – we paid about 10 euros for two sunbeds for a day! The only thing you really needed cash for was the hotel tax, which we paid 70 euros for (one week for one room) when we checked in. We also paid 50 euros for late check-out, which was totally worth it! The hotel’s photos also didn’t give the impression of how nice it actually was! We paid around 600 euros per person for this trip (including flights), and this hotel was such great value for money. We also celebrated a birthday during our stay at the hotel, and we received a gift from the hotel which we didn’t expect at all – so kind of them! Thank you so much! The hotel gets 5/5 stars from us!

This place seems like a paradise on earth! We stayed at this hotel in July 2025 with my husband and we enjoyed a lot! The meals were delicious, very attentive and the service professional. The staff were very helpful and happy to work in this place. The facilities were wonderful, two pools with lifeguards (make us feel safe), cozy pool bars, nice restaurants and the rooms... just fantastic! Luxurious with the essence of feeling like home, I cannot even explain it! We recommend it 100% for couples and families (as there is a very comfortable place for children, too). Also, very close to the beach in one of the best places of Kos, Tigaki!!

The worst hotel I have ever stayed in, nothing like the pictures online, was verbally abused by a member of staff which was witnessed by TUI staff, cleanliness was shocking, cockroaches in our room, dirty drinking cups, ripped sheets, leaking toilet the list goes on. Me and my partner, Alex, have just returned from another fabulous holiday staying at the Kris Mari Hotel in Kardamaina. We have stayed here a few times (& actually been twice this year) & have thoroughly enjoyed all our visits. Even though it's an old hotel it is kept clean and all the staff are very helpful & friendly. It's in a great location, really close to the beach and only 5 minutes stroll from the village The pool snack bar does tasty food and the pool itself is cleaned everyday. We would like to say a special thank you to Rena and Minas on reception and to Liza on the evening bar for their superb service.

Location and rooms are OK. Food is terrible. Breakfast only cold few things (cold boild eggs, one type of salami and cheese every day. People brought their own food for breakfast. In my life I did not have so bad breakfast in any hotels I was before.

Lovely location. Room very noisy, you can hear every conversation, footstep, people playing pool and staffs walkie talkies early each morning. This maybe because of the room location. (Ground floor). Bathroom had a bad smell but was fixed after speaking to reception. We had to request towel change on day 4. Breakfast basic but ok. We would stay again but on an upper level.

We stayed in Cleopatra Classic, but we had evening meals at the Kris Mari. The two young men who served us throughout our stay should be given a pay rise. There was nothing that they couldn't do that was a problem. We were so impressed with the two of them that we would highly recommend them for some kind of award. Also the young lady at the Classic who was the Bartender. You should be extremely proud of all three of the young team members. We would love to say to them all" you made our time on your beautiful island a wonderful time and made our holiday speacial" please pass our best wishes to them and we would like to keep in touch and continue watching all three of them grow and become even more wonderful and hopefully future managers for your hotels. It’s the location that makes this a good hotel. The hotel itself is very basic and rather worn. Breakfast is very simple – not even proper bread. The reception staff come across as stiff and artificial, almost as if they were bothered by questions or requests about the rooms. We happened to be there on 15 August, when Greece celebrates its second largest feast, Panagia, often referred to as the Easter of the summer. People gather at churches dedicated to the Virgin Mary. We wanted to attend the ceremony, but when we asked one of the reception staff, he seemed not to know what we were talking about. We received much better help at a pharmacy, where the staff guided us to several nearby options. Everything turned out fine in the end, but surely being able to provide relevant tips about local events is one of the main duties of a hotel reception. Poor.

This is a brilliant hotel to stay in if your are there out of season as there are still restaurants etc in close vicinity. I stayed in April and much of the main part of town was closed, but the area around the harbour was fine. I was a single traveller and they really took care of me. So much so, that i booked a second stay. Also, as they include breakfast, which was substantial, they are great value for money.

We have just spent 10 days here. I read through some of the reviews, please ignore the bad ones, I am not sure what the motivation is behind these, but I would say it is questionable, as they include some blatant lies! This is not a 5 star hotel, if that is what you want, pay double or treble to get it. It is a family run business, and the personal touch is very evident, and the owner goes above and beyond to help ensure you enjoy your stay, and he is always available. Lawrie at the bar is lovely, as are all the staff. The rooms are cleaned every day, fresh towels daily and bedding changed frequently, we had three rooms and they were all a good standard. the pool area is very nice, lovely comfortable sun beds, and is also cleaned as is the actual pool every night. The food is varied, and fresh, and we were always able to find something we liked (think I seen chicken nuggets once, so I don’t know why someone said this was every night) there was always enough choice. If you want a hairdryer, kettle etc you ask at reception and return at the end of your stay. The hotel has a lovely relaxed atmosphere and the owner sings some traditional Greek music, accompanied by mandolin and dancing a couple of times per week. The nearby town has loads of lovely restaurants shops and bars, and everyone we met was so warm and welcoming, I would definitely return. Thank you Evripides for making our first time in Kos such a fantastic experience

A great little hotel set on its own, perfect for relaxing. Very warm and welcoming owners and staff. We had Traditional Greek singing and dancing on Thursday night led by the owner. Greek food available in the restaurant. Lovely little town close enough to walk or a short Taxi ride away. Will definitely revisit.

This hotel is a family run unit. The owners Nicos and Denise are very friendly and as well as working hard they always have time for a chat. If you want plenty of night life and entertainment, and to be waited on hand and foot. This not the place for you Our experience was a good one. It is a chilled out resort, and definitely a place to unwind and relax. We went as a family. Us as grandparents. My son and his wife and two teenagers. All of us had a good time. The food was not fine dining. However there was plenty of choice, with a selection of Greek food each evening. Which is a must in Greece. Plenty of food, even my 13 year old grandson was full. My husband and I are hoping to visit again in September this year. The room we had was a little tired. However we had clean bedding and towels, hot water and air conditioning. As I mentioned earlier the food, (we went all inclusive) was plentiful and good. The resort is good value for money. There isn’t really anything I can say that is negative. Nicos and Denise and all the staff that we met were very helpful and friendly. They just want their guests to have a nice time. I hope that by writing this review that people will not be put off by some of the more negative reviews. Give it a go. You won’t be disappointed.

Avoid this hotel – it is nowhere near 4★. This was one of the worst hotel experiences we’ve ever had. We booked expecting 4-star quality and instead found dirt, rudeness, false advertising, and shocking cost-cutting. Staff & service The male owner seemed polite, but we had heard he can be short-tempered with others. The female receptionist (the large woman at the front desk) was incredibly rude, abrupt, and cold. At check-out she didn’t even ask about our stay – zero care for guests. The only good staff member was a young girl working evenings, who was genuinely kind and helpful. The night staff were also awful – at 11 PM on the dot they turn off every light, leaving you in candlelight, even in the toilets where the lights don’t work because they’ve been switched off to save money. If you arrive late, the night porter won’t check you in properly and just tells you to “do it tomorrow” – no politeness or professionalism. Rooms & basics Rooms have no basics: no kettle, no cups, no hairdryer unless you rent one, and Wi-Fi only works in the lobby unless you pay extra. Towels weren’t changed daily and bedding wasn’t cleaned every day. For a place charging a €100 tourist tax and calling itself 4-star, this is a joke. Cleanliness & hygiene The pool water was a weird light green colour, salty, and looked unsafe to swim in. The smell of sewage around the hotel was horrible. Plates at meals were dirty, and general upkeep was poor. Food & drink Food was bland, repetitive, and very limited. We didn’t go hungry, but it was basic. The drinks situation was worse: no Coca-Cola, only “Rola Cola” if you’re lucky, no apple juice, and most days the only option was lemonade. Fruit selection? Watermelon, every single day, and nothing else. Facilities & false advertising The biggest scam is the so-called “spa.” It simply doesn’t exist. There is no spa anywhere in the hotel – instead, they’ve put two ragged old massage chairs in a corner and advertise them as a spa. This is outright lying to guests to make the hotel sound better than it is. Entertainment is also pathetic: just one night a week (Thursday), when the owner sings himself. Poolside is lifeless – no music, except sometimes for 10 minutes before it’s switched off again. Safety issues The rental bikes are unsafe – brakes barely worked, lights didn’t function, and we were left cycling back in the dark. When we raised it, staff brushed it off and gave no real refund. It was dangerous and irresponsible. Disturbing details There were Nazi magazines lying around the hotel. Completely inappropriate and offensive. Location The location is awful: a 50-minute walk to the centre or €10 each way by taxi. You’re better off staying closer to town in a hotel that actually offers what it advertises. Final thoughts This hotel is dirty, cheap, and dishonest. From turning off lights at 11 PM and leaving guests in the dark, to a disgusting pool, sewage smells, poor food, unsafe bikes, and rude staff (especially the woman at the desk who couldn’t care less about guests), it’s clear this place is a complete money-grab. The “spa” is fake, the entertainment is a joke, and the customer service is non-existent. Do not book here. It is not 4-star, it’s a scam and a dump. Even if it were free, I would never return.

Lovely hotel, relaxing atmosphere, comfortable rooms and beautiful grounds. Great pool. A few minutes walk to the beach, which is also very nice. Close to the busy tourist centre of Tigaki but calm and quiet. Most important - the helpful and friendly staff made our short stay a real vacation!

It feels like 4⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ hotel, it wouldnt need a complete rework, the doors, drains and corners are really nasty sometimes... but nothing that actually disturbs you. Very big Pool with very few guests in it, for the prices DEFINITELY a RECOMMENDATION

The hotel is in a very nice location, on a quiet edge of the city tigaki, but only 5 min of walking to the strip. It’s right next to the salt lake and also close to the beach. The service was really excellent and the pool was great. The rooms were good, but the smell wasn’t too nice after cleaning especially. The breakfast was nice with some local goods and the poolbar was also good. The atmosphere was fitting for family’s and also couples and it over all the hotel had a really nice traditional Greek charm. I would highly recommend this place for anyone who wants a typical greek experience with a good location and a reasonable price!

Wi-Fi in the rooms is not available. If you need to connect or make a call you have to go outside of your room closer to reception. But this was not the worst part. The worst part was how the personnel treated me when I told them about the problem. One of the managers told me: - that Wi-Fi was absent on the island, not only in my room (not true, because at reception it worked perfectly at any time) - that they do not have to provide Wi-Fi to the guests and that the guests should be happy that the hotel does it free of charge, because they could have charged the guests for Wi-Fi additionally - I asked to check my cancellation conditions but she told me to feel free to go to another hotel and that they will not refund anything although it was just my arrival day and she could have checked the options for early cancellation. This woman was just bullying me and obviously enjoying the process. The other two staff members on reception were hiding their eyes from embarrassment while listening to her. This situation ruined my impression from the hotel and unfortunately from the country in general (this was my first time in Greece, my first impression). It was such a contrast to the way I was treated in Turkiye in the hotels/restaurants just a couple of days before. I can't believe that such a rude treatment and unprofessionalism is allowed in the service sector.

Excellent 2 week stay in September 23. Reception staff very pleasant and helpful. Pool and pool bar great. Food was very good. Lady behind bar was very nice. Had an issue with the air con, they tried to fix it but couldn't so swapped our room. Breakfast was decent, not sure what some people expect. We were in main block and had a lovely pool/mountain view as well as salt lake. Shower was over the bath and quite tight, but it was manageable. Great location, nice and quiet but near everything. No complaints at all

I was very excited for this stay, however I was quite disappointed with the total lack of wifi in the room (there was one bar of service if standing out on the balcony). Staff said they couldn't help at all and wifi is available in public areas which isn't ideal when you just want to lay back and chill for a couple of hours in private, not being chewed up by moskitos. The general cleanliness isn't the best (esp. bathroom). Bathroom hasn’t got a shower curtain so spray goes everywhere. The room does smell nice though.

Food The food in the hotel bar was fab. Portions are big and the prices are fair. The breakfast that’s included is basic and continental - toast/rolls, ham, cheese, butter, jam, cereal, milk, yogurt. There was fruit at the start but for the last few days there was none. We got bored of the included breakfast as it was the same thing every day so we ate in the bar instead. Location The hotel is located beside a supermarket that has everything you need. Only a few steps to the nearest pebbly beach and a few minutes from bars and restaurants. There is a bus to kos town that runs twice in the hour but we used the electric scooters instead. Staff The reception staff, the breakfast ladies, bar staff and the cleaners work very hard. They’re all friendly and very welcoming. Our room was not swept at all throughout our 2 week stay which was a bit of a bummer. But overall the beds were made daily and if we needed new towels you leave them on the floor. We had an issue with our tap and we notified the reception and it was fixed while we were out. The family is very friendly and genuinely work hard to make you feel welcomed and well fed. Grounds The pool area is a big big let down. The pool is ridiculously deep - the shallow part is 1.20m and the deepest is 3.20m which I would note if you are planning to travel with children who may not be able to swim. There is no lifeguard. There is no kids pool. There is also sunbed warriors that put towels on sunbeds even at 7am even though it is stated by the pool that no towels on sunbeds before 8am.

Perfect little base for our getaway. We got this break on a deal, well a right steal to be fair. And cannot complain for the price, we went self catering and the kitchen was adequate for us two, the pool area was clean, rooms were clean and tidy with a nice sized balcony. We spent most of our time exploring Kos and the old town. The beaches and all the restaurants. We were not looking for nightlife so stayed away from the front and ventured the back streets where it's peaceful. We did the 3 island excursion and highly recommend.

Arrived for a 5 night stay to a fancy looking hotel lobby. Reception man came out and obviously didn’t want to be there. Asked for our passports then sat in silence behind desk for couple of minutes. Given key and directions to our room. Unlocked the door..boiling hot…thought we had entered the 1970s! No upgrade in this room the headboard had a radio in it! A bath with no plug, no tv, shower over bath but was very powerful. No control for air conditioning (had to pay an extra 40 euros we found out) but should have been told of this before we left reception. Breakfast was rubbish. Limited choice but plenty of places to sit Didn’t use hotel pool as wanted to stay out of rubbish room for as long as possible. Towels not replaced. Fridge balancing on small wooden table dangerously. Would not stay at the Iris again

The rooms were clean and regularly cleaned, the food was delicious and varied, including traditional Greek dishes. The staff was welcoming and very friendly! Kardamena is a charming town with rich traditions and an exceptionally warm atmosphere, perfect for a peaceful and relaxing stay. The hotel, located just 10 meters from the shoreline, offers an excellent location with direct access to the sea and picturesque coastal views. The hotel rooms are spacious and clean, though with minor imperfections. Most rooms feature balconies with sea views, which significantly enhances the comfort of the stay. The hotel staff deserves special recognition – they are courteous, professional, and dedicated. Special mention should be made of Ms. Marzena at the reception. Her kindness, warm smile, and willingness to assist in any situation make guests feel truly cared for. With great empathy and efficiency, Ms. Marzena handles any issues that may arise, greatly contributing to the overall quality of service at the hotel. Meals in a restaurant, while adequate, are unremarkable. The selection is rather limited, and the quality of the products is average. There is a noticeable lack of local accents and freshness that could give the meals a more authentic character. Rating: 3/5. One major highlight is the hotel bar, which offers a wide selection of drinks – both classic and custom-made upon guest request. The bartender demonstrates creativity and attentiveness, and the cocktails are always well-crafted and beautifully served. It’s the perfect spot to enjoy a relaxing evening with music and a great drink. Among the hotel’s amenities is private beach access with sun loungers – an ideal option for guests seeking tranquility in a natural setting. In conclusion, this property is a very good choice for those who appreciate proximity to the sea, a pleasant environment, and a solid standard of accommodation. With a few improvements in the dining offer, and thanks to its outstanding staff – including Ms. Marzena and the talented bartender – the hotel has the potential to become one of the most recommended in the region.

Location absolutely fantastic, beach by the hotel and with quite affordable 10 Euro per umbrella with two sun loungers per day. People working in hotel are really nice and helpful. Rooms adequate to prices. Nothing fancy, but at the same time clean. If you travel having All Inclusive option then only downside is average food and drinks with limited alcohol % served in really cheap plastic cups. If you would like to taste real Greek cuisine then I recommend going to town for dinner which is like 5 min walk away.

The hotel has the best location🌍, exit to the beach, next to the market, souvenir stands, bars and restaurants, car rental. Standard very average, and so is the food, but I definitely think that the location makes up for it all. The service, however, very friendly and helpful. The waitress Alexandra 😊deserves a special mention, introducing incredibly positive energy, making us feel special, performing not only her basic duties, but also paying attention to making everyone feel amazing. A very hardworking💪, positive person🌞. I hope the hotel manager will see the potential of such a wonderful employee😉. I would love to come back next year. I sincerely recommend

It is of course only a 3* hotel. So don't expect the finest food, drinks and room furniture. But with limited means that they have, we found they did very well. The staff was friendly and accommodating. It may have helped that it was the beginning of the season, but I could not fault them. The food was not fine dining, but it was still tasty and quite varied throughout the week. It is likely a second week in the same place would have started to feel a bit more repetition. But even as a vegetarian I found enough beans, lentils and chickpeas, and eggs at breakfast to satisfy my needs. The direct access to the beach is absolutely fantastic, with very clear water and some fish. It is however a bit rocky once you get in the water, so water shoes may help.

Origin absolutely made our holiday. It's a small hotel. All the staff are amazing - they made an effort to learn our names, made a fuss of our (severely affected by learning difficulties) daughter to make her feel welcome. Our rooms were basic but clean. The small pool was always clean, and contrary to another review, you do not need to pay for sunbeds or air conditioning. The bar is always open and can be noisy in the evenings and into the early hours but it didn't keep me awake. Kardamena is a lovely little resort, this hotel is positioned to have easy access to it all. Would highly recommend to anyone that doesn't mind the noise from the bar.

if you are looking for a quiet hotel AVOID! The rooms were ok at best, the shower was not great. Upon arrival we were greeted by an almost naked girl who offered us a shot of god knows what. you could hear the thumping loud music 24 hrs a day. 50 euros for the air conditioning, 50 euros for a safe you can open with a potato ( watch it on youtube in not joking) 25 euros to use a sun lounger next to the pool a day! The owner was rude and nasty. absolutely no need to be that way in front of people who pay good money. Thankfully we found much nicer places to go on the island and only had to stay there to sleep. Kos itself is a beautiful place, Origins hotel sadly isn't. Far from it. If the owner was a nice person it would have been a higher rating. When we were there someone obviously thumped him as he had a corker of a black eye half way through our holiday. Pity, it had such potential. The lad who ran the nights was fantastic a true gentleman. The owner should take a leaf out of his book. We will be visiting kos again but we wont be staying at origins.

Staff are all freindly and can accommodate to disabilities or special needs (which was brilliant for my sister), the food and bar are brilliant, the pool is very clean and almost allways has the sun on it, the music from the bar can get loud especially with karyoke however after the first night it doesnt bother you at all. Definitely will go back in a few years.

Bad experience, got ripped off. Manager said that they do not book anywhere else except tui.co.uk, but I just saw it on Travelocity and another site. Do Not book. Would not acknowledge my booking through Expedia and had to pay twice, but surprise they had a room for us.
