Highly recommend this resort. Beautiful complex, staff are amazing and are so kind & attentive. Rooms are just what you need, large pool area and plenty of sun loungers. Situated next to the sea (stoney beach) public transport is easy to navigate. Restaurant staff are incredible and work so hard to ensure a great dining experience. We had a fantastic stay. Recommend visiting lake Kournas pedal boating with turtles & snorkelling to see sunken ww2 areoplane! Treat yourself to a spa treatment, you won't be disappointed. No complaints *****

We spent our honeymoon there in June. When we arrived had the chance to upgrade our room to one with semi-private pool and it was the best decision, I highly recommend that. We even got honeymoon gifts in the room. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Regular cleaning in the rooms. We booked all inclusive and the food was great and there was plenty to choose from. The surrounding area is quite empty and not so nice but we had everything we wanted inside the hotel. (We had to pay for the wifi that was still not the best). The music nights and the themed dinners were outstanding. Thank you for everything!

We've just returned from an amazing week away. The hotel was spotless, the food was fantastic and the staff couldn't do enough for us. It's the perfect answer to a much needed break. Not large negative for us, as we were happy enough with the couple of local little mini-market shops out on the main road, but otherwise it's a short trip on bus to a nearby town. But can imagine for some they may wish for me in the nearby area. Chania is lovely characteristic venetian port around 35/40, nice day out exploring. The Bar staff both at the lobby and pool bar were so friendly and attentive, it didn't take them long to know your order. The local views of the hills are stunning and the beach so close sets a beautiful scene

We have just got home after a week at village heights and we couldn't have asked for more from the resort. From the moment we arrived the staff were fantastic so helpful, attentive and welcoming. Our suite was huge with two outside areas, 2 bathrooms and so lovely and clean the welcome package was a beautiful touch and housekeeping came every day with fresh towels, to empty bins and change sheets if needed. We came self catering and food and drinks are fairly pricey on site but they offer meal deals and you get a voucher for a discount on breakfast and dinner to use within the first two days. We chose to eat off site most the time or use the ample facilities in the room to make meals. The resort is totally out the way and high up so the view is amazing but it is very isolated, the free shuttle bus service is a god send we used this regularly and enjoyed trips to herssonissos, the beach and the old town. Taxis are also easy to find and most give you a card so you can use them throughout your stay. The highlight of our stay for my children were the pools, they are so clean and beautifully maintained and a lifeguard is always present so they were able to swim safely without me being in the pool at all times. One day my son did not get out for 3 hours 😅. There is so much more I could say but overall we had the most amazing week. Special mention to Thomais on the front desk who was the most amazing, helpful and informative member of staff I have ever met and nothing was too much trouble for her she is a credit to the entire hotel. Also Emmanuel on the pool bar was fantastic and brilliant with the children and his cocktails and special coffees are beautiful. Thank you so much village heights resort!!! P.s. I am ordering some star jasmine for my own garden as the smell was so lovely and will be a nice reminder of the time we spent there.

We had a fantastic week long stay at Village Heights. The setting is absolutely beautiful, with stunning views of the mountains. The hotel itself is gorgeous—modern, spotless, and really well maintained. Our room was incredibly spacious, clean, and ideal for families as it had a kitchenette with oven, toaster and microwave. The bed was huge and very comfortable, and the overall service throughout our stay was excellent. That staff were so friendly and couldn't do enough to help. The food was a real highlight—high quality, tasty, and with great variety at every meal. The cocktails were also delicious. A couple of minor points- the kids' pools were on the small side and didn’t have any slides or water toys. Also, the pools don’t open until 10am, which can be a bit late for families with early risers. However there is a great playground and kids club! The evening buffet doesn’t start until 7pm, though you can grab something from the Citrus Bar earlier in the evening. Overall, it was a wonderful experience and we’d definitely return. Highly recommended for families looking for a relaxing, high-quality stay in a stunning location.

It was so evident that this is a truly family-friendly destination. There was a lovely, relaxed vibe that made it easy to unwind and enjoy our surroundings. The food was absolutely outstanding, with a fantastic variety of delicious options. First thing I would say is don’t stay here thinking it will be all peace and quiet as it’s up the hill and out the way. There are construction works going on that start at around 8am so if you like a lay in, forget about it. Over the road from the resort, there is a venue that hosts parties etc. On our last night it started at midnight and finished at 6am and it was sensationally loud, like a concert. I couldn’t close the windows as the A/C didn’t work which I reported early on in my stay but nothing was done about it. The staff are very friendly and the main pool area is lovely. The bars and restaurants serve some nice food but it’s more expensive than going out to eat and drink. There are lots of things to do especially for kids and the free shuttle bus is a nice touch. If sleep and peace and quiet are important to you then I would stay some where else but if you aren’t too bothered about those things then I’d recommend this place for families but probably not couples as there are lots of crying babies everywhere. I would say it’s an average 4 star resort at best. Not 5 star in my view. It’s not up to the standard of the other 5 star places I’ve stayed at over the years.

Very lovely resort and definitely recommend especially for those with families this is Perfect place. Loads of amenities, activities and the staff are so good. The only negatives are the buffet food was usually lukewarm or cold and we love our food to always be hot m piping hot, our room had a bit of a odour to it and felt stuffy. From the moment we arrived, the service at this hotel was exceptional. The staff were warm, welcoming, and went out of their way to make us feel comfortable. We enjoyed our time at Rimondi Grand Hotel. It is built into a cliff side so expect to walk up stairs & ramps to access everything. It is located next to an olive tree farm that makes for a unique setting. The property has several pools throughout or you can opt for a villa with your own plunge pool. You can purchase an all inclusive package that is worth the spend. Premium alcohol is extra. No kitchens, small refrigerator in your room. No washer/ dryer but they have laundry service takes 2 days. Beach is by shuttle 1/2 sand 1/2 stones. If you go into town Rythmo, 12 euro round trip & need to schedule time to depart & time to return. Beach there is mostly sand and good for swimming. They offer loungers by day starting at approx 20 euro for 2 loungers with umbrella.

honestly wouldn't recommend unless your willing to spend a lot of money and love to walk/climb! and don't care for a shower. the showers and taps as soon turnt on smell of rotten eggs and the smell doesn't go away. you have to pay tax in cash upon arrival which is £15 a day. the ATM charges you £5 each £20 you spend!. the views are amazing! there is no entertainment nor activity's if you ask reception they mention monday and friday entertainment but we didn't see any. the SPA Jacuzzi wasn't warm. the staff were lovely and very helpful! They served the same food everyday. there was no variety but undercooked most of the food. this hotel is based on a hill so there is a lot of steep up hill walking! the pools were freezing cold! the shop over charges you! Your room doesn't get cleaned unless you request it and wait for a reply. overall it is a very pretty hotel and only 14 minutes from the beach but wouldn't recommend the facilities or the price of it!

We spent a fabulous night here. The hotel is gorgeous and quaint with a beautiful courtyard and pool. The connected restaurant is lovely and breakfast was great. The room was perfect with a large comfortable bed and everything was spotless. The staff were really lovely.

Beautiful old building in a great location, everywhere is accessible, within a 10 minute walk. Our room was air conditioned and come with a mini fridge and big balcony. The staff are friendly and the rooms are clean. They are in need of a slight freshen up, we had a junior suite which was lovely however the shower head had no way of attaching to anything so you had to just hold it the whole time you are in the shower. Not a big deal but an easy fix for the hotel. There is one giant drawback to this hotel which is sadly out of thier control. Right across the street is a huge nightclub that opens from 12am-6am Wednesday-Sunday. The sound travels through the walls and windows and keeps you awake the entire time. I can't see a fix for this other than the nightclub closing, but it has to be pointed out. It's a real shame as other than that the hotel is lovely. If you're an extremely heavy sleeper, you would be fine. In summary, a lovely hotel, lovely staff, lovely location, really annoying nightclub next door.

The perfect place to stay in old Rethymno! Very clean, kind and accommodating staff, excellent location, and beautiful building. The hotel itself is quiet, but there is some noise from the restaurants and clubs nearby. I am a light sleeper and was fine with earplugs and some white noise playing.

A boutique hotel in a renovated Venetian building. It looks like we're living in history. Love the exposed beams on the roofs. The bed is very comfortable. The host is warm and welcoming. The place could be better insulated to sound, but with a historical building, I am sure there are limitations. The location is excellent. There are no elevators, so not ideal for people with mobility issues.

Perfectly adequate but do not expect a 5* if you've not paid 5* prices. Incredibly beautiful surroundings and amazing views from the rooms. Nice staff. Tons of food selection and all fresh/tasty. Delicious desserts which makes a change for an all-inclusive. Good selection of drinks. Rooms are spacious and very clean with comfortable beds, but it's not the 5* experience you'd hope for. Location: stunning but a car is highly recommended. Bali is very quiet and the beach very average. Entertainment was mostly terrible so be prepared to get out and about.

An absolutely fantastic holiday staying here. The rooms were clean and spacious. There was a bath and shower in the bathroom which was unexpected. The food was incredible and a variety to choose from. The staff were also welcoming and friendly. A nice spacious balcony too and we had a nest in the corner which was lovely to watch as the parents were feeding 3 babies. There’s a lot of birds around which was nice. There’s mountains surrounding the resort so we were able to see bird of prey in the distance There were 3 pools to choose from, each had sun beds around that were clean and comfy to lie on. Towels were given for €5 deposit. Drinks and snacks were available from the pool bar and again, the staff were very friendly and served with a smile. There was entertainment on and some was great, the Magician, The Professional, was phenomenal and a great show! There were 2 dancers which wasn’t a great hit, it looked like they argued a couple of times during the set and the show didn’t flow - they kept stopping for a minute or two after their dance. As soon as they got the audience involved in dancing, the evening was okay but their show was embarrassing. There was a shuttle bus that fit 8 people and took you to the beach and back for free. We did this a couple of times and it was really nice but sometimes going back to the hotel was a wait due to the number of people wanting to go back. Not a problem though as there was a cafe/ bar right next to the drop off point I cannot fault the staff but a big thank you to Regina who made us feel welcomed. She was always ready to help us out with booking a car for us or sorting out a late check out Really happy with our stay and would really recommend to everyone

As a group of 5 friends we stayed at the green villa, and we absolutely enjoyed every minute of it. Mostly everybody try their best to make your stay comfortable. Maybe the food is not the best but you get more than what you pay for. I would recommend renting a car to be able to visit the wonders of this breathtaking island.

My stay with Filion hotel was one of my best vacations ever. The place is beautiful, every meal is great and the hotel's service is perfect. All the staff members are friendly except one person at reception, who I won't mention here, I believe everyone should be nice. Anyway, I highly recommend this hotel if you want a peaceful and chill vacation.

Fantastic Family Holiday at Serita Beach Resort – Highly Recommended! We recently spent a wonderful family holiday at Serita Beach Resort, and I can honestly say it exceeded our expectations in every way. I was there with my two children, and from the moment we arrived, we felt very welcomed and well taken care of. The location of the hotel is perfect – right by the beach, with beautiful views and close proximity to many interesting places to visit. It served as a great base for short trips and excursions around the area. What really made the difference was the staff. Everyone was incredibly friendly and helpful, always smiling and ready to assist. The food at the hotel was excellent – fresh, varied, and flavorful. Every meal offered something different, and both adults and kids were able to find something they enjoyed. The quality and variety of the food definitely stood out. The hotel is extremely family-friendly, with lots of attractions and activities for children – from pools and slides to games and entertainment. The animation team did a fantastic job keeping both kids and adults entertained. They were full of energy and really connected with the guests, organizing games, shows, and events throughout the day and evening. It’s clear that they love what they do. One particularly kind gesture we truly appreciated was that, on the day of our departure, the hotel staff allowed us to stay in our room longer than usual because our children were taking a nap. It was such a thoughtful and accommodating response that really showed their commitment to guest comfort and satisfaction. I would especially like to thank the Housekeeping Manager, who stood out with her professionalism, kindness, and attention to detail. She made sure our room was always spotless and comfortable, and her positive attitude was truly appreciated. First impressions, it's a small resort, breakfast was okay, but nothing "special" like omelette station. 1 use of each a la carte (3 of them) included. The gym is small and not well equipped, home conservatory level running machines,a few weights machines, no free weights worth mentioning. Room is a decent size, although I think we were put in a bungalow room which is a slight upgrade on the standard double. Bed is comfortable, Aircon works. Safe is a charged for extra, which is a bit weird. Beach looks nice, plenty of loungers. Pool view over the car park is not the best. Haven't sampled any of the drinks yet. I will update this review as I experience more here Update, I will add that the local area is not pleasant, the recommended walks from the hotel take you through an industrial estate past a concrete factory and under a dual carriageway. In the other direction is a "village", but it is mostly tourist shops and very busy.

I had a great time at the Apollonia Beach Resort & Spa. The room was always clean and the food was good. All the employees were friendly, even if they were stressed. The entertainment Team made the vacation unforgettable especially Edoardo and Andrea, they made sure that all the activities like Table Tennis are funny.

Photographers: Those two Romanian Ladies, are very friendly, but it's a no for a photoshooting there. There is nothing professional pictures, just a person with a Camer in the hand. Then you have to pay 13 euro just for a picture, for non professional photos. Find photographers from outside the hotel. For 150 Euro you'll have all the photos in sd-card. I had so many pictures with my finaly, and the told me for 450 Euro for all of them, like hello, i'm in holidays. And it's not all about the money, it's the non professional team. Just it's a NO, don't take them for a photoshooting at the hotel. When it comes to the hotel, I have nothing bad to say about it. Very Friendly workers and stuff, very good location. I recommend it.

A charming mobility friendly hotel built on it side. The hotel and gardens are so pretty with a stunning bay window beach view from the pool bar. So easy access to the beach. I visited early mid oct and it wasn't insanely busy. We found it very easy to get around there are many support ramps and rails although some are a bit wobbly and decent chairs by the pool if you find sunbeds are too low also ground floor rooms bit dated but ok. Despite this we hired a mobility scooter from reception outside company at (30 euro a day) because the hotel is built on it side it can be a long way to walk between things for someone with limited mobility also most evening entertainment happens right near the main road in the amphitheatre which is also outside and uncomfortable (hotel maybe consider cusions). The entertainment teams and shows were very good and lively both day and evening keeping everyone happy. There are 3 pools one main deep pool all round Great for jumping and diving, one smaller pool split depth and one pool that a pretty cool slide goes into. The pool bar served a full warm buffa at certain times and snacks at others including amazing pizza better than lunch offered in my opinion. The beach is clean and very long but watch out the banks can be deep which can be very dangerous for small kids or anyone unstable on their feet. The beach is lifeguarded at certain times and a watersports company near by also towards the big colomb things is a company called HORSES ALMIRU just walk along and you will see the stables. I did a beach horse ride for 25euro. Marina the owner was a lovely lady and all her animals are well cared for. It is so worth it. I found her page on FB although i think the hotel should tell guests about her. The hotel food was average in my opinion for a 5*. In my opinion breakfast was naff, there was 5 different types of egg on offer but no proper sausages only weiners. There is plenty of food and they do theme nights and have a live station at dinner as well. Puddings delicious. The A La Carte restaurants were ok but nothing special. You need to book them when you arrive because they have limited space each night. All include a 3 course but it is sparce choice. The Italian was disappointing as it served the same main you can get at the snack bar all day. The greek was posh and beautiful positioned on the side on the beach but wouldn't recommend eating their with children unless they really like tradional greek. A couple of prices to finish if you like to plan your holiday. Torist tax- 70 euro per room for a week ouch!!!! For out of season too. Safe in room - 24 euro for a week Late check out fee if its available - 50 euro til 3pm or 80 euro til 6pm. Spa treatment- varies but i paid 140 euro for 2 same treatments on different days. Spa pool is cold nobody was using it. Hotel sold Excursion - Dia Sailing Morning 9 til 3 is 87 euro pp.

Ok, I've spent a nice week at the hotel in first part of October so here is my review. First thing first, if you are looking for a real 5 star experience this is not it. While some elements are almost up to par, other lower the rating. 1. Localization: Good - next to the beach, close to the biggest city on the island, nice park next to the hotel, nice clean pools. Bad - Nothing interesting in walking distance, power plant as a view, next door hotel can get noisy (so can be the workers picking up supplies and trash), no chance for a sea view. Rooms: Good - Clean, comfortable bed. Bad - outdated and in need of renovation (bathroom!!!), extra paid safe! Restaurant: Good - Wide selection of foods, themed restaurants. Bad - Overcrowded! even after the main season! Main restaurant is just too small! sometimes the staff took the old plates while I was getting more food and I lost my place!!! Food: Good - traditional food from Crete, fresh, some good items in the selection almost all the time (fish, shark, seafood, beef,salads). Bad - very uneven taste and quality, pork and chicken usually quite bad, breakfast is just repetitive and bland (scrambled eggs are just terrible, not freshly made omelet), watered down juices, small and repetitive lunch selection at the beach bar. Drinks Good - some good selection with few that are ok Bad - some are just laughably bad, especially with orange juice or rather orange looking water! Everything felt as cheap as possible!! Beach: Good - clean and good number of sunbeds Bad - some rocks, not really much of an infrastructure Staff: Nothing bad to say, very nice and helpful. Some nice animations and live music but not too often sadly. Overall 6/10 experience and I am being very generous here. Only take all inclusive as half-board is beyond ludicrous expensive! Also as this hotel is rated 5 stats the local tax is very high!!! The price to quality ratio not great!! PS. Side note for the travel agency - Coral Travel - Avoid them due to overpriced trips and no real care for the person paying!!!

We had a fantastic experience. The villa was well-maintained and beautifully equipped, with a private pool and breathtaking views of the sea and mountains. The service was professional, the reception staff very attentive, and the atmosphere perfect for a quiet, relaxing holiday. Highly recommended!

Excellent view from the hotel especially for breakfast. Staff are super friendly and helpful, we had breakfast included and the selection was excellent. Everything was super clean and the staff couldn’t be more helpful with our requests. Would definitely recommend and come again!

Always good but now even better. This was our fourth time back at the resort and we were glad to see that it's survived the pandemic with many of the existing staff, but they're making improvements! We had villa 408 which now has 40Mb wifi and very comfortable memory foam memory toppers. Of course, the food is still excellent - it's really nicely done authentic Greek food with superb service. If they don't have what you want, just ask and it will be there the next night. Very vegetarian friendly but you need to ask for the veggie moussaka which is excellent (I hope it's made it to the menu now). Breakfast is a great buffet with everything that you need - loads of variety. Grounds are still lovely. Receptionists are even better and more knowledgeable than ever!

An absolutely stunning view of the mountains a great place to relax. The pool is large so it’s never crowded, plus there is a shallow pool for the little ones it’s amazing. The bar service is great they speak English really well and have a good variety of drinks and serve foods such as toasties, crisps and chips. It is an amazing place for a wedding reception with tables ready to be built up for weddings. The inside is so pristine and elegant i would definitely recommend to people staying in Crete.

The Royal Heights Resort impresses with its spectacular view over Malia. The room seemed in good condition, though it was obvious that renovations are needed sooner than later. Staff was always attentive and very friendly, they were trying their best everyday.

We have just returned from a week here B&B. The location is stunning and the ideal place to come to relax. Different pools to choose from and no one rushing to secure beds in the morning. Lots of lovely restaurants nearby. Breakfast buffet was well stocked with so much choice. The room was quite basic but very clean and cleaned every day. The staff here are so lovely and really make your stay as enjoyable as possible. We will definitely be back!

The restaurant was great, with fresh quality food and an amazing variety of healthy (and naughty) things to’ eat. We went in low season and still the animation was great. Mike and David entertained us all at night with the mini disco, the quizes and the dances, and we can only imagine how great it must be when Weather permits to do it all’ outdoors or longer into the night! You can tell when people love what they do and Mike was a great example of passion, skills and leadership. The kids club was already open and Natalie was amazing: our child loved her and she knew how to entertain them all! The kind of patience, resources and skills she showed made us even consider to spend again some holidays in Crete (that is, at this family Hotel)

We just returned from our fourth stay at the Alexander Beach Hotel – 16 unforgettable days – and once again, we were absolutely thrilled. I travel alone with my child, and every time we are welcomed with warmth, care, and outstanding service. The hotel is spotless, the food is excellent, and the entire team goes above and beyond to make guests feel comfortable. A special thank you to Sokratis, Makis, and the entertainment team, especially Steffen, for their kindness, professionalism, and personal touch. The pools are large, clean, and beautifully maintained, and the direct access to the wide sandy beach is simply perfect. Another plus: Heraklion Airport (HER) is only about 30 minutes away by car. We are already looking forward to our next stay in October – it truly feels like a second home.

We had an amazing stay here, we could definitely relax. There was al lot of available spots by the pools even though we were with 5 persons. We met a couple special staff members who made our vacation memorable. Maria, she mostly did our breakfast and lunch service. She is super kind and very fun to talk with. Kostas from the bar by the pool. He is definitely one of the most nice and talkative persons on the resort. At the same bar there was a new person working from Albania who was also super sweet. He came over to us to say goodbye on our last day which makes the whole experience a whole lot more personal. Last but not least, Maria from the italian restaurant. She probably has had given us the best recommendations for the wine, food and a fun bar nearby. And there’s a lot more people who made the whole vacation super fun but unfortenately i do not know everybody’s names. The only thing that we experienced that was a little bit annoying was that when we arrived in the restaurant you get greeted by a couple of people who want to bring you to your table but they have no idea where there are tables available. So you just end up walking behind someone who does exactly the same thing as you which is looking for a table. It just makes it a little bit chaotic. The resort itself is stunning. It feels more like a tiny village than a resort. It is very cute and there’s a lot of beatiful viewings. Just to walk around after dinner was a delight. I would definitely recommend others to come here!

A pleasant experience overall! The hotel’s location was excellent – close to the beach, small shops, and rental options. The hotel area itself was large and convenient: several pools, bars, a private (rocky) beach, a small souvenir shop, and nightly entertainment with animators. The staff was friendly and helpful throughout our stay. The all-inclusive package was solid – food was tasty with a decent variety, drinks were average (as expected with local alcohol). The room was simple but clean and comfortable. It’s definitely a place where you can spend a full week without leaving the hotel, but it’s also easy to explore the surroundings. Would recommend!

We loved our stay at Vasia. The service from checking in through to checking out has been excellent. We enjoyed using the pools, gym and spa facilities. The breakfasts were amazing. There was so much choice for everyone. The dinners were also great, I especially enjoyed the salad bar and the freshly prepared main courses. The service at both meals was friendly and helpful. We had a family room with its own balcony, which allowed us to relax outdoors when it wasn't quite poolside weather.

My Stay at Vasia Resort & Spa, Crete – May 2025 I’ve just returned from a wonderful holiday at Vasia Resort & Spa in Sissi, Crete, and I honestly can’t recommend it highly enough. From the moment we arrived, everything exceeded our expectations. Warm Welcome & Amazing Staff The staff at Vasia are truly outstanding. We were greeted with genuine smiles and helpfulness at every turn. Whether it was the reception team, restaurant staff, or the cleaners, everyone made us feel special and at home. Nothing was ever too much trouble, and their attention to detail was impressive. Beautiful Rooms & Facilities Our room was spacious, spotless, and had a lovely balcony with a view of the sea. The resort itself is beautifully maintained, with several pools to choose from (including a quieter adults-only pool and fun water slides for kids). Everything was always clean and inviting. Delicious Food The food was definitely a highlight. There was a great variety every day, from fresh salads and local Cretan dishes to international favourites. We especially enjoyed the themed nights and the à la carte restaurant, which made for a special evening out. The drinks menu was extensive, and the cocktails by the pool were a real treat. Relaxing Spa & Activities The spa was a real treat after a day in the sun—highly recommended for anyone looking to unwind. There were also plenty of activities on offer, from fitness classes to tennis, and the kids’ club kept the little ones entertained and happy. Perfect Location Sissi is a charming village, and the resort is just a short walk from the harbour and local shops. It’s peaceful but well-placed for exploring Crete if you want to venture out. Outstanding Hotel with Fantastic Facilities We had an excellent stay at this hotel — it truly exceeded our expectations. The rooms were clean, spacious, and well-ventilated, with daily housekeeping. Each room comes with a small fridge, coffee-making facilities, a TV, and generously replenished bottled water. The bathrooms were spotless and well-maintained throughout our stay. The Food – A Pleasant Surprise! As vegetarians, we often struggle to find variety while traveling in Europe, but this hotel was a game-changer. It offers the most vegetarian options we've ever seen, including a dedicated vegetarian corner in the dining area. The dining hall itself is large, with both indoor and outdoor seating. Over our 7-day stay, the food was never repeated — a testament to the creativity and skill of the chefs. The head chef is always on the floor checking and refilling. What a lovely people. The omelette making man makes the best omelette. The service was equally impressive. The staff were incredibly efficient, constantly replenishing dishes and keeping the area spotless. Everyone was warm, humble, and eager to help. Convenient Location & Great Extras There’s a supermarket just around the corner, and the shopkeeper is very helpful. We also recommend Mevis, a local car rental and tour operator — they offer excellent, affordable tours and are always punctual. Beautiful sunset and sunrise view just 2 min walk to the hotel. A thoughtful touch: the hotel even provided packed meals for guests heading out early on tours. Beach walk at the back of the hotel which is beautiful. Boat tour in 10 minutes walk. Final Tip: Bring mosquito repellent and you’re set for a truly amazing stay

Room was clean and very comfortable. We really enjoyed the evening entertainment, especially the Shaolin Acrobat team. Just a really nice relaxing hotel to be in and around. Easy to get a taxi into Rethymno too for a bit of local culture.

We were in Crete for a wedding and stayed at the Creta Palace. We were traveling with 5 adults and three kids (3, 14 month, and 4 months). I’d have to say the best part of our experience was how accommodating the staff was for our children. For all 7 days of our trip, their staff was incredible and they really make sure the kids can be easily taken care of. Plenty of activities and areas for the kids that are enjoyable for everyone. In addition, the location is not far from other beautiful beach’s as well as the thriving old town. If you’re looking for a place to take the weight of the everyday off your shoulders, this is a great spot.

Great hotel, beautiful grounds, great beach. The room we booked (garden view) could not keep up with the very modern, new and high-quality facilities and was unfortunately also very noisy. The breakfast buffet was extensive, a very large selection and very tasty, unfortunately with little variety. But that's complaining on a high level, as the dishes on offer were very tasty. Unfortunately, neither the lunch nor the dinner buffet could live up to the breakfast buffet; only the selection of starters and the salad selection was very good. Many of the hot dishes were repetitive and there was a lack of spices. So if you expect a buffet in line with a 5-star hotel, you may be disappointed. The selection of drinks, preparation and service were very good. Great, very courteous service in all areas! Absolutely must be mentioned. All in all, we were very satisfied; and yes, it is perhaps complaining on a high level. If I could, I would give it 4.5 stars, but it wasn't quite enough for the full 5 stars due to the room and buffet situation.

We left feeling rejuvenated, inspired, and already dreaming of our next visit. If we could make one small suggestion, it would be to install more effective blackout curtains. In the morning, quite a bit of light came into the room, which sometimes disrupted our sleep. That said, this was a minor detail in an otherwise flawless experience. If you’re looking for the perfect escape with luxury, comfort, and impeccable service, this resort should be at the top of your list. We can’t recommend it highly enough

Rating this as 3-star due to low quality of the food in the main restaurant. The food was not fresh, as we would have expected when visiting Greece. It tasted like it was frozen and re-heated. Juice is not fresh. Coffee in the room is instant coffee. I would have at least expected a mini-espresso machine like we had in 2 star hotels. On the positive side, Rooms were spacious and very clean. Service was cordial and friendly. They provided a free bottle of wine, apples, and water in the room. Location was nice since it is right on the beach, but otherwise it wasn't really close to anything prominent. (It's about a 30-min drive to Knossos.)

We arrived at 11pm and they gave us a family room. Which was small and a bit dated. Which shocked me as they’re considered a 5 star hotel and affiliated with Melia which is a great hotel group. I went to receptions and had a chat with the night manager, the next morning the duty manager Dimitria spoke to me and said that she’ll do something. And she really pulled all the stops out. We got upgraded to a brand new renovated room, that hadn’t been used before with a beautiful bathroom, new products such as a bed etc and the kids had their own space too. They mentioned the entire hotel will be renovated by next year. This made our trip, the kids were happy and so were we. Loved the hotel, it’s a small resort but gorgeous. The water in the sea is so clear of you come out of the hotel and go right for 5 mins. Would go back!

Stayed here 5 nights and do not understand how it has so many 5 star reviews! This is NOT a 5 star hotel, you get what you pay for (very little) and it’s very surprising that this is affiliated by Melia. The food lets this hotel down. It is not what you would expect from a 5 star hotel. It is cold and bland and not much variety or options. The rooms are small and old if you choose the junior suite. There are only a few sunbeds with nice cushions, the majority are old plastic ones which desperately need replacing. We were lucky that it was quiet so managed to get the nice comfortable sunbeds most days but if it was busy I would have been very disappointed. Again this is not what you expect from a 5 star hotel. The most awful thing was the flies on the last two days. The main restaurant seemed to have a fly infestation. There were HUNDREDS in the restaurant near the food and all over the tables. There were dead ones all along the windows. I understand that flies are hard to manage but there seemed to be no attempt to even remove the dead ones on the floor! We had to move tables 3 times to get away from them. You can see in the pictures they are all over the table (at least 10 in that picture) and the railing leading to the food! On our last day other guests seemed to be complaining at the flies and quality of the food. It was shocking. The staff in the restaurant and bar were so kind and attentive but the receptionists were rude. When we checked out no one asked how our stay was. Location is amazing will definitely return to Stalis but not this hotel.

We recently spent two nights at Blue Sea Beach by Meliá in Crete, and I can confidently say it was one of the best hotel experiences we’ve had. From the moment we arrived, the hotel gave off a very pleasant and welcoming impression. Although it’s known to be the oldest hotel in Crete, it has been beautifully renovated and exudes both charm and modern comfort. Rooms & View: The rooms are clean, stylishly decorated, and feel fresh. The design is simple yet elegant, with all the amenities you would expect from a high-standard resort. One of the biggest highlights was the stunning view — waking up to the sight of the sea was truly unforgettable. Staff & Atmosphere: The staff are another big plus of this hotel. They’re friendly, professional, and create a relaxed yet attentive atmosphere. What made it extra special was the fact that some of them clearly have a soft spot for the Czech and Slovak Republics — one of the bartenders even spoke Slovak, which was both surprising and really heartwarming. It instantly made us feel more at home. Drinks & Bar: The cocktails and drinks at the bar were outstanding. I would go as far as saying they were the best drinks I’ve ever had at a hotel — easily comparable to high-end cocktail bars we’re used to at home. The bartenders truly know their craft, and every drink we tried was perfectly balanced and beautifully presented. Food & Dining: The food was delicious with just the right amount of variety — not overwhelming, but enough to always find something tasty. It felt like every dish was made from quality ingredients, and it was clear that attention was given to both taste and freshness. One of the highlights was the barbecue night (for an extra charge), which included a great selection of grilled meats, traditional Greek dishes, and even live Greek music and dancing. The atmosphere was festive, and it was a memorable evening. There was even a photographer taking professional pictures before dinner, which were available for purchase the next morning — a nice touch. Beach & Location: The beach is just a short walk away, across a local street. While it’s not directly on the hotel grounds, it’s still easily accessible and the walk itself isn’t an issue. Once there, you can enjoy the beautiful sea and sun in a peaceful setting. Overall Impression: To sum it up, Blue Sea Beach by Meliá exceeded our expectations. It combines the charm of a historic hotel with the comfort of modern renovations, and the personal touches — from friendly staff to exceptional drinks and cuisine — made it truly special. I give it a solid 5 out of 5 stars and honestly can’t think of anything to criticize. We’d happily return and recommend it to anyone visiting Crete.

Thanks for your response to my review. You had every opportunity to address the problems with the room as we had to complain to reception at least 3 times and had numerous visits to rectify the problems. Just because we didnt want to ruin our holiday by demanding a different room doesn't mean that your staff couldn't have offered it. As I said that room was sub standard and shouldn't be rented out, I shouldn't have to point that out as it is obvious. Lots of problems with the room, (Number 215) which I believe was the worst room on the resort it bore no resemblance whatsoever to the rooms pictured on the website, and in my opinion should not be rented out, no offer of another room despite all the problems.

We honestly had the best holiday ever here. The hotel is huge and beautifully designed, it feels super luxurious but still warm and welcoming. We even got an unexpected upgrade to a room with a private pool, which honestly made the entire trip for us. The room itself was spacious, and the terrace with the pool was just perfect to soak up the sun all day. There’s also an indoor pool and a gym you can reserve for yourself, which was such a nice touch, no crowds, just peace and quiet whenever you want. Also they host a show every day at one of the three hotels. We attended the fire&light show and the South African band, which were both incredible. But honestly, the staff was my absolute favorite part of the whole stay. Everyone was so kind and genuinely made us feel at home. We arrived very late around 10-11pm and they expected us with something to eat and drinks on the house. By day two, they already knew our coffee order and just brought it to us at breakfast without us even asking. They really took the time to get to know us, we had so many lovely and personal conversations. I’m truly gonna miss them and we already can’t wait to come back next year!

Booked a room with Gardenview for 6 nights. Really it's churchview. But the church is beautyful so it's not a problem. Big breakfast buffet with lots of tasty food for all needs. Same to say about the dinner buffet. The rooms are big and comfortable. You get a electric kettle and a fride. A decend sized TV, a hairdryer and a commodious shower. There is a pool and some loungers with lots of sun all day long. But it's just a five minute Walk to the beach, wich I would recomend. There are a lot of Stones though and water shoes are nice to have. Or 20 minutes to an "all sand" beach (in front of the Kalimera Kreta). Really friendly staff. 10/10 will come back.

Amazing hotel. We are in a swim up room, and it has been perfect. Few niggles with the room as I think we are the first ever guests to stay in it, however they were all sorted out quickly. The service is excellent, the staff are all very friendly. We are here on a bed and breakfast tariff, and the breakfast has been great. I wouldn't bother with evening meals or lunch, there are so many nice tavernas around that do fantastic food, as tourists we need to keep them in business.

My family and I (2 kids under 10) stayed at Porto Platanias beach resort over Easter and it was fantastic! Highly recommend. All the staff were friendly, helpful, and accommodating. The food was delicious for any meal and snacks were great by the pool too for All inclusive. We have some food allergies in the family and they were accommodating and helpful to be sure we had all we needed. The Amination team (Martin, Teddy, and Stan) were incredible. They were always very friendly, funny, and willing to play games (darts, shuffleboard, bocca, table tennis, stretching) with us and the kids both during the day and in the evening. We all give them 110% rating. We would definitely come back just to have this great crew. Another shout out to George who was a great bartender with lots of tasty drinks, drink ideas, and was nice to chat with. Lastly we were able to pay extra for an Easter lunch. It was very delicious, a bit crazy when everyone got food so possibly under staffed but still a nice experience and great entertainment. Overall, it was a great vacation with nice day trips for everyone. The town has all you need in walking distance too.

We paid £170 a night with taxes for 7 nights. We stayed in room 1505 and this is my review. As people have mentioned in previous reviews this is not a 5 star hotel. Not in facilities or service. I would say 99% of staff are miserable, rude and unfriendly. There is no service with a smile and they look down on you. Here are some examples: - On arrival there isn't a warm welcome or service with a smile. - Asking where the kids club was. The woman at reception just shrugged her shoulders. Then got a map and circled the kids club but didn't actually explain how to get there. - When walking past any staff there is no hello, good morning, smile etc.. - At breakfast you go to the table reception and get assigned a table. The table you are brought to is not even ready. So you are standing there just waiting for your table to have a tablecloth, cutlery etc... put on it. - I wanted to grab a water bottle from the bar. It was 4:45pm and the bar apparently only opens at 5pm. All I wanted was a bottle of water but the bar man said we don't open until 5pm. The breakfast setup is shambolic. If you sit upstairs you have to go down and get your food. Then you carry your plate up a busy set of stairs to get to your table. Tea and coffee are not consistently served to your table every day. Waiting staff seemed baffled when I asked for non dairy milk and basically didn't want to help. I wanted to use the microwave to heat up my toddlers' food. I called reception and the guy at reception said he needs to speak to another team and he will call me back. I waited 30 minutes and no call-back so I called reception again. This time someone else tells me I need to go to the restaurant to ask for a microwave. This is terrible customer service. We apparently got an upgraded room. We were meant to get a garden or pool view room. We got a room facing the front of the hotel with a lot of road noise. It was so much I couldn't sleep. The room was very small and dated. The shower doesn't work and the toilet leaks. The toilet door lock is broken so we couldn't lock the door. The silly charges at this hotel are ridiculous. They would charge you for breathing if they could. To use the SAFE in the room you have to pay!!!! I have never seen this in any hotel. To use the water park which is part of the hotel you have to pay. It's beyond a joke. The beach chairs you have to pay for. On a positive note the breakfast selection is good and parking is free. The beach is close by. Overall, this hotel was terrible and I would not recommend it. I know Crete is expensive but for £171 a night you expect so much for your money. We feel very disappointed with our experience and would not recommend this hotel. We will not be returning.

From the onset, the hotel staff demonstrated excellent coordination and collaboration in planning our event, ensuring that every detail was meticulously arranged to meet our specifications. The facilities at Porto Platanias are in superb condition, offering a comfortable and conducive environment for both professional gatherings and leisure. The staff at the hotel were incredibly helpful and flexible, adeptly accommodating our needs and constraints, which was no small feat considering the size of our group. One of the highlights of our stay was the Cretan night event, which everyone greatly enjoyed. It was not only fun but also gave us a taste of local culture complemented by high-quality food that was consistently impressive throughout our stay. The hotel is also family-friendly, which was appreciated by attendees who brought their families along. The overall atmosphere of the hotel made everyone feel welcome and well-cared for. 2.5/5 Pros: -Beautiful location & views. -Very clean rooms with amazing air-con. We've stayed at a few hotels in Rhodes before with awful air-con so this was very important to us. -We are a couple in our late-twenties that enjoy peace and quiet. So the adults only relax pool was great for us and it was never too difficult to find sunbeds. The view from this pool was gorgeous. -Nice beach, only went down there once. (The hotel is huge and up a hill and our walk to the beach was a bit long. There was a beach shuttle but it was always unclear if/when it would turn up.) -The hotel has a bus shuttle service to Heraklion which is super cheap and worth taking advantage of as taxis are very expensive. Take note of the times though as there is only one going to Heraklion in the morning at 9am. Cons: -If you are not French, this hotel may not be for you (we are Brits.) The staff were not friendly or approachable (bar one or two exceptions), we did not feel overly welcome at the hotel by any of the staff and we were openly ignored by staff in the restaurant who would serve the French guests and keep completely missing us. We are both quiet and like to be polite so we didn't make an issue of this, but it was quite obvious and it made us very uncomfortable. -Initially we thought it would be nice to sit on the balcony at dinner with that view, but it is very clostrophobic which people continuously trying to jump on seats and get a table. A few times we sat out there, people who had gone to grab food had their table stolen and the staff would just set up for the newcomers, while the original people had to wait for a new table on the balcony (with food in hand) or go find a table inside. -For a 5 star hotel, the gym was crap. -The food selection wasn't great and most of the time didn't have much flavour. I spent most of the week with stomach problems which could be down to poor food hygiene. I did see staff pick up food that had spilled onto the counters (with no gloves on) and put it back into the serving dishes which was pretty gross. -The snack bars were disappointing. I've been to hotels that serve better food in between meals other than ok-ish pizza and dry cakes. -The cocktails on the all inclusive were very sugary and not the best. To be honest, the quality of the food at all meal and snack times and the drinks made the all-inclusive not worth it. -We were located towards the bottom of the hotel and hill- I will not miss that walk up to the pool/ restaurant everyday! It is steep. For us it was manageable but it maybe wouldn't be for older people or those with mobility issues. -The hotel is very secluded from everything, although the shuttle bus to Heraklion did make up for this somewhat. -Housekeeping didn't always replace our towels and X2 bottles of water in the fridge. I don't want to hike up a hill to refill my bottle with warmish water when I need a drink. :( -Our leaving flight was at 10pm. The hotel let us still dine and use the facilities on the last day. However, in our experience the hotel will give you a room to shower and get ready for the airport in the evening. Here, we were handed towels and pointed to a boiling hot/not so clean out house that we could use for fifteen minutes. Not good. -This didn't really impact us, but the entertainment is all in French. Can't comment on the Spa as we did not use it. Overall, the hotel is in a beautiful location where you can definitely relax and unwind. But I wouldn't say that it's five star. There has to be other hotels in Crete that are friendlier and more welcoming (to Brits anyway) and that offer better quality food/ drinks as part of their all in-inclusive packages. I wouldn't return and probably wouldn't recommend it.

Horrible experience, Sold as 5 star hotel. Wouldn't give it 2. Rooms are great, beach amazing. None of the food was even remotely close to good. Nothing. Half cooked, dirty dishes and standing in the 30 degrees sun. Snack bars offers snacks that are either dry, uncooked or plain flavorless. This hotel is run by French groups that take over the 30 sunbeds. After staying in the Stella Palace before. This is not 5 star. Not even 1. Take your money to some place else!!!!!

Fabulous staff, very friendly restaurant and bar tenders. Reception team very helpful. Location was fantastic with awesome sea views. beach a short walk down steep hill and if you've enough energy afterwards you can trek back up it. If not the shuttle bus is every 15 mins. We upgraded to a pool room, again lovely room with 16ft private pool and sun terrace. However I think the cleaner forgot to come to ours most days. Floor and bathroom never cleaned in our week stay and beds not made up on 2 days.. water/coffee pods not replenished as promised. Ohh and animation only really in French. That being said would stay here again, just need to swot up on my languages 😉

Absolutely loved our stay at this Cretan hotel! The all-inclusive package made everything so easy and relaxing. Having multiple seawater pools was fantastic – there was always space to swim and the views were incredible. And the direct beach access? That was the icing on the cake! We could stroll from our room straight onto the sand. Highly recommend it for a stress-free and luxurious vacation.

Very aesthetically beautiful hotel. Around a lot of shops and right next to the sea. The rooms were absolutely gorgeous. We had a view of the hills and it was amazing. The buffet restaurant wasn’t the best the food is great if you aren’t picky, there should definitely be a small bit for picky eaters or even children. The male manager of the restaurant was disgusting toward the staff always making sure to embarrass them infront of everybody. Every other restaurant staff was so kind. Some staff around the hotel are quite ignorant and not very helpful. The entertainment is great and there is a variety of things to do. The hotel isn’t for children though so if you’re looking for a nice quiet break this is the place. Overall an amazing stay just a small few downsides!

A special mention must go to the wonderful breakfast omelette chef, Maria, so lovely, friendly and talented too! Also the wonderful waiters, George and Stella at the buffet restaurant, so helpful and friendly. The guest service staff, all so friendly and helpful. Check in with Chrissalou ( sorry for spelling) was one of the most welcoming ever. 5 star all round! And our week has just started!

We stayed in a room with a private pool, close to the main pool. We were there in June, so the weather was perfect and it was not as crowded. It honestly looks better in person than it does in the pictures. The sunbeds at the pool are of very high quality and very comfortable. The room is very large and the private pool is private, you can’t be seen from the outside. The resort is very large, so there are long ways to the different areas. You can order a golf cart but that takes a while sometimes and by that time you can just walk. The beach is on the other side of the road through a tunnel, again you can asked to be driven over. The water park is also awesome for kids. The whole hotel is very luxurious and modern. We had half board. The drinks and lunch was pretty pricey, so if it makes sense upgrade to all in. I would say it’s worth it to do it for €100 p.p. The hotel is also kind of out there, so I would recommend a car rental. Although I believe there is a bus stop not too far away (saw it but never took it, we always rented a car). It would have been a five star experience if the food and evening entertainment would have been better, but the rooms and common areas are pure luxury, I would definitely go back and recommend 100%

Anemos really is a luxus hotel, the food was good we especially enjoyed the maestro and the sirocco restaurant. One star is missing because a lot from the staff aren’t that friendly. Some waiters were really rude, they didn’t say anything back when we said hello or thank you, they expected that you just know how everything works and didn’t explain anything to you, sometimes we had the feeling we were just lost and had to apologise for being there, but those who were friendly made it all better, like that waiter Roberto, or the friendly staff of the spa , the young receptionist with the red hair, the hostess in the main restaurant and the guy up at maestro. I am used to better service from other all incisive 5 star hotels, especially from the animation team and the staff. But the rooms were amazing and very clean, the cleaners sometimes came two times a day. What we thought was sad is that all inclusive isn’t “all inclusive”. For example you have to pay for the gazebos at the beach…or for the ice cream and some drinks. But the quality of the drinks is so much better than in other places. And that all Inclusive is granted to you till you leave is also nice. So it has its pro and cons. After all, I didn’t think this would be a hotel I would come back to, because for this price there are better options, but we can’t say it was bad like we would never recommend it.

Our stay at La Mer was simply fantastic and exceeded our expectations in every way! From arrival to departure the service was absolutely flawless. The whole team was incredibly attentive, friendly and accommodating. Our every wish was practically read from our lips and they really looked after us personally. We have rarely experienced such outstanding service. The hotel itself is beautiful, the rooms are comfortable and spotlessly clean. The pool area was really great, as was the private beach. The food in the restaurant was also excellent. I can highly recommend La Mer. If you're looking for a relaxing stay with first-class service, this is the place for you! We will definitely be back!

Everything at La Mer was absolutely perfect. The view from the hotel room was unbelievable, the bed was comfortable, and the food was phenomenal. The buffet for breakfast and dinner was perfect - lots of options so that you could try a little bit of everything. The loungers by the beach and the pool were comfortable, and provided just enough shade. The staff went above and beyond to make sure everyone felt welcome, especially Theodore and Marianna. I’d go back in a heartbeat!

I stayed at La Mer Resort & Spa for several days and left with mixed impressions. While the hotel does have some notable strengths — particularly the quality of the food and the modern, tasteful design — there are several areas that fell short of what I expect from a five-star resort. What I liked: Food & Dining: The cuisine was consistently excellent. Breakfast and dinner were both high-quality, with a good selection and fresh ingredients. The restaurant staff were also friendly and attentive. Design & Atmosphere: The hotel features a sleek, modern design that feels fresh and well thought out. Public areas are clean, stylish, and well maintained. The resort has a calm, adults-only vibe, which we appreciated. Service Attitude: The guest relations team responded proactively to feedback, which is something I truly value. They showed genuine interest in making our stay better. Areas for improvement: Spa & Wellness Facilities: The sauna was out of service for our entire stay (5 days), with no visible sign of repair work or a clear communication on when it would be fixed. For a resort that promotes wellness, this was a major letdown. Room Design: Our room felt cramped in terms of wardrobe and storage space. For longer stays, it lacks practicality — there’s not enough room to comfortably unpack and store clothes. Sea Views: Despite the resort’s coastal location, the actual sea views are quite limited. The restaurant is set far back from the coastline, and the surrounding mountains block direct sunset views. This makes the outdoor dining experience less special than expected, especially when compared to other five-star properties in the area. Gym: The gym is small and sparsely equipped. What stood out most was the poor use of space — treadmills are placed facing a blank wall, ignoring the beautiful scenery just outside. Simply rearranging the equipment to face the windows would dramatically improve the experience. Conclusion: La Mer Resort & Spa has potential, with strong food offerings and an appealing design. However, a few operational and layout decisions — especially concerning wellness and views — hold it back from being a truly exceptional five-star experience. I hope the management continues to improve, because with a few changes, this resort could be much more memorable.

Overall the experience was good: food was great and service excellent - everyone were super nice. Welcome drink upon check in, nice “game room” and very nice beach (it seems). Room was nice too, not as small as we feared after reading some reviews. BUT we have deliberately chosen this hotel knowing that the expected weather (late April) isn’t amazing (cold, wind, rain), and for that the hotel did not suit and disappointed us: - we paid more for a room with a hot tub in the balcony. The hot tub was not hot at all, and it was impossible to enjoy it. Maintenance guy said this is the maximum temperature - it was cold!!! - we selected a hotel with inner pool (again, bc of weather) but the water temperature was cold and again, we could not enjoy it. -dry Sauna wasn’t working when we visited the Pool’s area. - Spa - can’t testify on the actual massages but prices were on the high side (133 euro for a 70min all body massage, after 10% discount). We found an amazing massage in Rethimno for literally half the price. To conclude, obviously weather played major role here, but the specifications that were marketed on Booking.com made it seem that the hotel can somewhat entertain also during bad weather days.

My husband and I stayed for 6 nights over Easter in April at the start of their season. Overall it was a relaxing stay and we were lucky with the weather which made all the difference. We were given a welcome mocktail on arrival, which was a nice touch. Also, on Sunday morning, they served Brut with brunch, which was lovely. Other than that, we were disappointed that no drinks were included in the half board package, especially water. A bottle is provided in the room per day, though and a welcome bottle of wine. The rooms are small, to say the least, and there's barely any space for storage! They haven't thought through where a couple can store clothes as there's no drawers or shelves, just a tiny wardrobe with a few hangers... The bed has two separate sheets, so for a couple sharing it's a bit inconvenient. However, there is a coffee machine and a lovely balcony in the rooms. The pool area is spacious and plenty of loungers for sunbathing. We didn't try the ala carte restaurant for food, but the cocktails were very good value and well made. Now for the food, this is possibly the best part. Both breakfast and dinner are exceptional, so it's well worth going half board! There's plenty of choices and everything is good quality and delicious. There is, however, a lack of signage regarding dietary requirements. The desserts were not labelled at all. The service was friendly and warm, without being invasive like other hotels we've stayed at. Here they very much leave you to your own devices. We would've preferred to have some evening entertainment, even just a live singer or musician during the meal. It did at times lack ambience, and we found ourselves a bit bored after dinner. There is, however, a games room and lovely pool table and bar in reception. The mini mart was ideal to buy water and things, so we didn't need to leave the hotel if we didn't want to. There's also an ATM and very strong WiFi throughout the hotel. Beautiful views and scenery meant we enjoyed our stay, but it's quite dependent on the weather. To summarise the improvements I'd suggest the hotel make: - Indoor pool was not working, and no compensation was offered. - No entertainment at all. We were told it's because it's too early in the season, but that doesn't seem fair. - Rooms lack storage space. Finally, I booked a 5 day spa package, which gave me 5 consecutive treatments. They were very good but the rooms were at times cold and there wasn't much aftercare. I.e. usually, after a treatment, the client is offered water. To summarise, lovely stay and very grateful for the experience however we wouldn't necessarily come back.

The staff is wonderful and always smiling, and the rooms on the ground floor with a garden are a paradise for children. the highest praise for the pirates animation team, our twins enjoyed their time. An amazing two weeks at this wonderful hotel. Everything was excellent - the room, food, staff. They welcomed us at 4am and were so kind and helpful, it was a great start after a long journey with young children. The hotel is just lovely, with so many facilities. Everything for kids was perfect and the food was delicious with plenty of choice. Even if you don’t have children, there’s plenty to enjoy. Could not recommend enough.

We just got back last week. The resort Is great, especially for families with children. Everything was always clean, enough sunbeds And umbrellas on the beach. The sea Is beautiful, ideal for snorkeling. Food was amazing, various choices every day. And mainly, the staff were all amazing, Smiling all the time so we Felt very welcomed. We really enjoyed our holidays at the Sunshine Crete Beach Hotel. We have stayed in a semi-separate apartment out of the main building. It was clean and quiet. We asked for a sea-view room but we could barely see the sea as it was mostly hidden by other buildings which was not so big issue at the end as we did not spend much time in the room anyway. The catering was also great in the main restaurant and at the beach bar. The overall atmosphere was perfect, mostly thanks to the animation team. They took care of the children as well as of adults during the day and evening. There was always something to do and it was always fun. Amongst others stretching and aqua aerobics in the morning, water polo and some competition in the afternoon, and a mini-disco for kids with another competition or karaoke and a disco in the evening. Go, animators, go!

This is not a 5 star hotel, really dated, rooms require urgent refurbishment. Staff was okay but definetly not 5 star hotel experience. Food was okay but again they are far far away from 5 star, drinks are limited and cheap alcohols. We mostly enjoyed the clean sea and it was beatiful but we would no come back to stay at this hotel again. They are not up to standard to be 5 star hotel maximum 3 star.

One thing was really outstanding: The service. The staff is very attentive and accommodating. Always willing to help and having a smile on the face. English is spoken very well, partly also German and French. The effort the staff does with cleaning is stunning. Every morning the whole area is swiped wet, all sun beds as well. Further recommended: Booking a massage! If you do not want to book half or full board there are plenty of very nice and reasonably priced restaurants in walking distance. For my taste breakfast could have a little more variety, also if you want to have "premium" espresso you have to pay extra. Sufficient sun beds are available at the 2 pools. If you are a traveller without children consider visiting outside school holidays, as not all children are well behaved in the pools and the pools are not olympic sized...

We booked a holiday to have a good, relaxing break. No tourist spots, just a chance to sit by a pool with a good book, and just shut the world out. This place definitely helped! Once we got through the gate, everyone was accommodating, friendly and helpful! Shout out to Nikos and Manos for the welcomes, the chats and the friendly banter, definitely seek these two out! The pools are heated and relaxing, lots of space to lay out, we had a jacuzzi in our room which definitely helped during some of the (rare) cool evenings! Thanks a lot for a great week! When can we come back?!

Great time, clean, good food even better price We recently visited the hotel and tbh most things were fantastic, clean rooms, polite staff and good selection of drinks and food. Our room was decorated with the swans with it being our 1 year anniversary. A nice touch. We were also gifted some fruits and nuts. The only thing that let the room down was a broken window above the toilet. (Room 303) Pools were lovely and we really liked the day beds it felt like a nice touch. They are leather though so that can be interesting when ur feeling hot haha. Food was good for an all inclusive something different everyday but always the basic pizza and chips to keep the kids happy. We really enjoyed the ‘cheese pie’ and diffrent salads they did every day. That Greek yogurt with some honey on top was to die for!! The thing we were not so keen on was the fish dishes but it’s not the easiest food when sat under a heat lamp really. Location is nice but not much going to and the local walking distance beach is naff. But there are shuttle busses to the beach. I’m glad we did rent a car because otherwise you are abit stuck for things to do. The staff- Sofia and Nikos are the stars of the bar staff tbh. Great laugh, great personality and uplifted the whole experience. The restaurant staff were also very nice and polite. Just the odd one was a little ‘slack’ one might say but they had to deal with some horrible customers so I would be too! Haha. Might I add the restaurant over the road is really nice ‘new sports cafe’ and drinks are cheaper plus good food. Overall great time and would come again. We are hoping to get a pool room next.

Great holiday at Kiani Beach Resort! Overall, we were very happy with our stay. The hotel offers a beautiful setting, clean and comfortable rooms, excellent facilities for children, and friendly staff always ready to help. A perfect place for a family vacation. The food was tasty and plentiful, but we would appreciate more variety, less oil, and fewer processed ingredients. Including more fresh and local foods would take the all-inclusive experience to the next level. Still, we had a fantastic time and would definitely recommend this resort!

We loved the stay at Kiani Beach Resort. The hotel has a lot to offer for kids - also the snacks and the fresh crepes at the pool bar were great. We cannot confirm that the food wasn’t amazing- a lot of fresh salads, fish and always fries for the little ones. The restaurant at the top of the hill was the best - thanks to Silos and his staff - great pizza!! The only part of the stay which was not so pleasant was the big restaurants & the noise. We always tried to sit outside but the tables were very limited .

There are lots of activities for kids, including kids club (when parents could have 1-2 hours for themselves) and kids disco. The pools are also very nice. The food and drinks are also fine. We stayed at this hotel for the third year in a row, so you can imagine we enjoy it a lot.

This place is incredibly disappointing. It claims to be all-inclusive, but there are only about six cocktails made with cheap spirits and low-quality soft drinks. To access a better selection of drinks, you must pay an additional £20 per adult per day for VIP all-inclusive. I have never encountered this kind of all-inclusive service before. They only provide bottled tap water in the fridge, and there are no canned drinks except for refillable soda.The food selection is very limited and cold. Overall, it’s a poor hotel and one of the worst I’ve stayed in. I booked an all-inclusive package, but it certainly doesn’t deliver on that promise. The fruit is tasteless, and the snack options are very lacking, consisting mainly of baguettes, wraps, and some cheap yoghurt. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel to anyone. We were in the room next to the ac unit fans, and it was quite loud until 1 am, making it difficult for us to sleep. Additionally, the emergency light by the door inside the room was very bright and very distracting. Response: Thank you for recommending that I review the description of your all-inclusive package. I did not book through your website so I don't see why I should check the website. Ultimately, it feels like a scam; had I known it would turn out this way, I would have chosen a different hotel.

We had a brilliant week here. Everyone is so helpful, obliging and friendly. But the one person who was outstanding for us was the lovely Evelina. The resort is a bit remote so you need to hire a car or use taxis. It's great for children with plenty for them to do. The hotel is very clean. The beds are very comfortable. I would prefer a larger bath towel!

We had an incredible stay at "out of the blue"! We booked a standard room, but were upgraded to a junior suite. That was unexpected but great. The staff was very professional and kind. The food was very good and varied. We also found plenty of vegetarian options. One small thing to note is that the pools aren't very deep. The water barely comes up to your waist. This is fine for lounging in the pool, but if you really want to swim you're probably better off going to the beach.

Stayed in this hotel for two weeks. Here's a summary of how it was : The hotel is located right between a bay, it has a private beach and a more public beach, it's very nice, no complaints about that. There's a bar at the private beach and it's wonderful. The rooms, outdated. Half of the electrics didn't work, hard beds, broken toilet, mold.. It's not the best, at all. The resort itself is fine, however not for those who are less physically able. It's quite a bit of a walk to get anywhere, and it's a steep walk. Dangerous slippery roads. A good option for this was to ask the staff to come pick you up with their golf carts, they drive around the resort all day. Very convenient. No complaints. Breakfast is absolutely amazing, no complaints. Lunch, even better. They had a delicious lunch buffet. Dinner was disappointing at times, however they changed it up a bit every day, making it better. Some days they had fried chicken, other days it was more of a salad and vegetables thing. Not the best. Quality of food is fine. Again, no complaints for breakfast and lunch. The area around the hotel is a bit.. Basic. There's not much shops and you have to rent a car to get further away. There's a beach though, and Heraklion centre is closeby, 30 minute drive. Swimming pools are accessible and calm. Enough beds, no war over laying towels down. Clean too! The staff? Some staff are really nice and talkative.. But we've only seen that once or twice. Staff have an angry look on their faces and aren't really down for a conversation. There's this manager in the restaurant, constantly chasing staff and correcting them. Honestly, making it more stressful for them. He tries to act all friendly, but it's really off-putting. He shouldn't be getting involved with waiters. A waiter dropped a glass on the floor, but this manager stood by, pointed at it angrily and did nothing else. Entertainment was pretty non existent. Every Saturday and Sunday night there was an older gentleman singing songs, not really sounding like he spoke English haha. Besides that we didn't really see any entertainment. The beaches are lovely, so is the resort. But it's definitely not 5 stars. If you wanna go out and see things, either rent a car or go somewhere else. This place needs an update and perhaps staff that need more break time, they look exhausted. With a manager like that, I would be too.

That was one of the biggest dissappoitments in our trip to Crete. First of all, the room was old and dirty , all furniture was full of spots and scratch. The cleaning was done very superficial, there was a lot of dust still in the room. We received a child bed that was disgusting , full of spots. There was a water flow in the bathroom from the toilet. The food was ok, Could be more fresh and better cooked for 5 stars. There was also a dans rain during our stay there. The rain was on Sunday and the personnel managed to wash it only on Thursday ! When you have kids and want to enjoy the swimming pool, 4 days is a lot , especially that the vacation period was one week. To sum up, this is a 2 star hotel with services and attitude of 2 star.

We really loved this hotel, it was extremely aesthetically pleasing and really did feel luxe. The front desk staff were all amazing, especially Dimitra - she had some great recommendations, she was super friendly and helpful! The shower rooms you could access once you’d checked out were a nice touch. We were disappointed for the price you pay that the "all inclusive" package isn’t truly all-inclusive. There were some drinks / bar snacks you had to pay for and everything all inclusive (including drinks!) ended at 12am which didn’t feel fair. It also felt like the bar staff would be really slow with drinks the later it got as though they didn’t want to serve you. On top of this check-out is at 11 am and after this, access to inclusive food and drinks is no longer available—even if you have a late departure. This feels like you’re being cheated out of a day of food/drinks. Generally the staff were all lovely however we found that after our all inclusive had ended the day we were leaving, many of the bar staffs attitudes had completely changed. No longer friendly and helpful, more like we were an annoyance which was really disappointing. Overall a great hotel, however I think they need to re-think their “all inclusive” in terms of including everything and also the time this ends each day - not everyone wants to finish their night at 12am. Maybe worth reminding bar staff that on the day of check out, everyone is still a paying customer and should be treated as such.

What a beautiful 10 days we just had at this hotel! Clean and pleasantly aesthetic hotel with the most gorgeous architecture! The location is amazing and is so close to everywhere you’ll want to go including all the best restaurants and bars walking distance. 2 minute walk from Med cafe on the beach which is also amazing!!! Food at hotel really wasn’t good at all and I was really disappointed in it for it supposedly being a 5 stars hotel, I have been to plenty 5 star hotels to say that Akasha beach hotel certainly isn’t a 5 star and I probably wouldn’t go back but i would go back to Crete but maybe just different hotel. The staff were okay nothing like out of this world with service they just sort of stand there even when you want a drink at night time they take the piss to come around and take orders they just stand about doing nothing which again isn’t 5 stars as you should feel it too. The pool wars is a bit ridiculous to be honest at the main pool i didn’t even get a chance to sit there but I didn’t really mind because the other pool on 3rd floor was amazing and the sun from up there was amazing and service can I add was amazing from the wonderful Thomas and I can’t quite remember her name but she was a smiley women that worked along side him at the bar! These are the sort of staff that need recognised for there amazing service and kindness!🥰 We got our room freshly cleaned daily which was amazing with fresh new towels and the cleaners were smiley and kind! The room is so clean and actually feels very homely which i loved! The only thing which was a bit annoying is the water pressure in the shower it wasn’t the best I thought it was just me but my boyfriend said the same so it was a bit of a struggle washing my hair especially having hair extensions. Also the air con the the room was so bad we were so hot all the time as it didn’t work properly I sound so moany😂i promise I had a good time but there was just some bits I think the hotel needs to work on if they want to stay stated as a ‘5 stars’ 🌟 as I personally wouldn’t say it’s worth the money and you could get someone 10x better for the price… Anyways thank you 🙏

The hotel is beautifully designed and ideally located right on a lively promenade, making it perfect for exploring the area. There's a great beach section, the food is delicious with authentic Greek cuisine, and the service during meals is excellent. Everything is very clean, and having a whirlpool on the balcony with sea view was a romantic highlight. Unfortunately, the experience was affected by a very loud and sometimes unpleasant crowd—both from the promenade and within the hotel itself. The rooms are poorly soundproofed, and loud, stressful music is played almost everywhere and all the time. The beds were too soft for our taste. Also, the "all inclusive" package isn’t truly all-inclusive. Another downside: check-out is at 11 a.m., and from that point on, access to inclusive food and drinks is no longer available—even if you have a late departure. We had a lovely time overall, but we wouldn’t return.

No doubt a stunning hotel on the inside as out, gorgeous location and very attentive staff, loyal and dedicated. The issues where cold tea/coffee in the mornings, cold food, food would of been great if hot. We even had cold soup so definitely not 5* on food unfortunately. A simple fix would be a coffee machine and not coffee pots, these are a thing of the passed and a drinks station would free up precious time for the restaurant staff. Spa/indoor pool area is so beautiful but not all basic facilities are in with the price. Sauna/steam room both which where switched off and we were told for them to be switched on it would be 50 euros per 30 minutes and we were not sure how this could possibly work as it takes hours for these facilities to warm up and other guests are also in the same area? Bar staff and drinks again amazing and definitely 5 stars. I would love to go back to this gorgeous hotel if the issues are addressed. Resort beautiful and hotel is very close to everything.

Hi, We stayed at the hotel as two couples for 5 days. The hotel is impressive and luxurious, with spacious and clean rooms. The hotel facilities, like the amazing pool and excellent dining room, are among the best. The location is perfect — central and close to everywhere you need to go. We wanted to point out one very positive thing and one that was less satisfying. *The positive:* We had the pleasure of receiving amazing service from a waitress named *Janka*, who welcomed us every time with a smile, asked about our day, and gave us fantastic recommendations for places to explore in Crete. *The less positive:* The view from our room was of the hotel’s back courtyard, which was neglected. There were ants walking along the balcony railing, making it unpleasant to sit outside. We requested to change rooms, but unfortunately, our request couldn’t be accommodated. Thanks again to *Janka* for the wonderful service and experience!

It’s absolutely amazing place. Located right next to the beach. Very nice sun beds. We have taken all inclusive. It was totally worth it. They have theme dinner nights. Even though we stayed a week, we were not board of eating similar food. I loved their desserts. Staffs were very friendly. It was comfortable. I loved the sauna and the pool. They gave a dinner coupon to their own another restaurant. It was worth the try. 5 course dinner was delicious. They have a nice bar. Snacks are always available. Overall we really enjoyed our visit.

We had a wonderful stay at Mitsis Royal Mare and would like to sincerely compliment the hotel, especially the staff – everyone was very kind and welcoming. A special thank you to Mrs. Marina, who stood out with her warm and cheerful personality. You really feel at home here thanks to people like her! The food was absolutely perfect, and the wine was great as well. The access to the sea was excellent, and the à la carte restaurants were simply amazing! The only thing that felt a bit confusing at first was the signage around the hotel – it wasn’t always clear where things were or how to get to them. But that’s probably just because it takes a bit of time to get familiar with the place. If I had to mention anything else, I personally missed a better snack bar, but I definitely didn’t go hungry! 😄 As someone from the construction field, I noticed that while the hotel looks beautiful from the outside, the finishing details of tiles or plaster could use a bit more attention – but that’s just a technical observation and doesn’t affect the overall experience at all. The staff were warm and welcoming, always ready to help. The spa was definitely one of the highlights — definitely worth a visit. We stayed at the hotel for 3 nights and overall had a wonderful experience. The staff was absolutely amazing—friendly, attentive, and genuinely helpful. The location is fantastic, and the hotel itself is immaculate, well-organized, and beautifully designed. We stayed in a luxurious suite with a private pool. While the room was elegant and pampering, the pool water was quite cold, which was disappointing, especially considering the hot weather. The resort is huge—like a small village—so be prepared to do a fair bit of walking, but it’s a lovely place to explore. The main downside for us was the food. The buffet had variety but most of the dishes were bland. The resort features six à la carte restaurants, but you must book them well in advance—most were fully booked during our stay. Even when we did manage to dine in one, the quality was just average. Also worth noting: from 12:00 to 18:00, food is extremely limited (only crepes and ice cream are available), which was unexpected and frustrating in an all-inclusive resort. On a positive note, the alcohol selection was nice and the cocktails were very good, with great bar service. In conclusion, this is a beautiful resort with exceptional staff, and we’re glad we stayed there. But the food experience fell short, especially for an all-inclusive hotel. If food is a top priority for you, manage your expectations—but otherwise, it's a fantastic place to unwind and enjoy.

Great hotel. Everybody are nice and do their best to provide good service. The hotel is huge so prepare to walk a lot in it. Many options for food and drinks. The water park is amazing, lots of slides and pools and no need to stand in a long line to use them. Edit: Forgot to mention the amazing service we got from Antonis the bartender at the "Kohili Pool Bar", Antonis was always smiling and eager to serve and every time we arrived he reacted like he knows us since ever. Stella palace, this one is a keeper!!!

Stayed for a week in room 708. We arrived at 9.15pm, and the staff at reception were so kind, that they let us get some food before the restaurants closed before fully checking us in. We had a caddy ride to our room, and the porter was very helpful. Spacious room which fit 4 people well, and a balcony overlooking the main pool. Only issues we had with the room is that the temp of the shower was abit iffy, and the fridge was not cold at all. From beginning to end the staff were incredible. Very welcoming and polite. Food was amazing - buffet catered to all our needs. The Mexican restaurant in particular was incredible. The resort was very clean, and the pools were great - cold but fab. The waterpark was fantastic and offered lovely food and drinks. The private section of the beach was a little run down, but a nice area to relax with plenty of sunbeds. All in all, we had a great time, and made some amazing memories.

The hotel territory is huge with several restaurants, pools and playgrounds. There is a football field, tennis courts, paddle court. Every evening there's some kind of show. We visited all of them. Strange services...to expansive for such a treatment! Once and never again. A lot of things are not allowed...or arent running. Excample, to play in the kidspool... and The water is cold as hell!! What is wrong with water for the whole familie - make it pleace more warm!!! also in juli! The coffee, isnt good - tast chep and not really worth (for a 5 star hotel) Room door did not properly close, and the room was noise. Air conditioner turn on and off all the time. We stayed 6 nights... At al bad custumer treatment.

Incredible amount of swimming pools. An amazing time for kids. Loads of really good slides. And play areas. It's an inclusive resort . So you get Free ice cream. A really good place to have lunch where they have a small burger stall If you don't fancy going to the buffet. Not the best cocktails at a resort I've had. Are they weren't bad. The food is fine. Again, not as good as I had at other resorts but still very nice. A lot of selection. It looks like they're building an extension to the dining area and more rooms. Bedrooms were fine. Not very big but they did the job. You already slept in them really. Kids activities were good. Kids disco was great at the end or night. The entertainment was hitting or miss.

We had an exceptionally good time at Gouves Water Park and would like to thank all staff for making our stay so wonderful. This was our first family holiday for my 21 month old son and he really enjoyed himself which made my husband and I so happy. We spent the early mornings at the beach which is a 10 minute walk away. We rotated between the mini park, splash park, and small pool which gave my son variety and excitement. The adults tried the water park too which was fun. My son also enjoyed the children’s playground and mini disco. The hotel is maintained very well, with clean rooms and clean restaurant facilities. We thought the food was good as well, used the snack bars in the day and the buffet restaurant at night. I would highly recommend for families with small children as it’s the perfect size to navigate throughout the day and there is enough going on that you do not need to leave the hotel area.

Cannot Recommend this hotel anymore. Everything was absolutely phenomenal. Staff were amazing. everyone is so friendly and happy to see you. If you have any problems at all they are more than accommodating. I got stung by a jelly fish on my first day and they delivered cream from the pharmacy by taxi straight to my room. Cleaning was never an issue. Maids were always cheerful and happy to speak to you. Fresh towels replaced every day as well as water. The best food we have ever had at an all inclusive holiday. Everything was fresh and flavourful. With 3 extra restaurants on sight that were absolutely delicious. Bar staff were always cheerful and happy to make drinks whilst having a chat. Location was perfect, 2 minutes from the beach with amazing views everywhere. For adults only this is the perfect place to go on holiday !!

Great place for couples. Fabulous setting and amazing food. Drinks are a bit expensive but you can get your own from the local supermarket. Very popular with German guests. Probably 90% of the guests were German. Entertainment excellent apart from the DJ who mainly catered for the Germans and Germany is not renowned for its music! Only downside is the amount of smoking. Everyone seemed to be smoking everywhere. I am an ex smoker but this was a bit of surprise for a Luxury Resort and Spa.We booked a day trip to Knossos which is only 38 minutes away according to Google but with all the pick ups and drops offs, we spent nearly 4hrs on the coach. Highly recommend private transfer. We were in our hotel an hour after landing! And the room was ready. Also booked late check out until 6pm for an extra €60. Don't forget the tourist tax at €15 per day per room. We would definitely return though.

A beautiful hotel with attractive gardens full of old trees, private sandy beaches, clear clean water, great pool. This is a 1970s hotel - the spacious, well-appointed public areas retain an authentic retro feel - to my eye, fabulous, but don’t go there expecting steel and glass modern. The food and service for breakfast and dinner in the main buffet restaurant was fantastic and we seriously over-ate. I can’t understand people who whinge about it. Our room was well-appointed with a great sea view - but I can see why people might be less happy with unrefurbished rooms. Excellent staff. Only drawback was price of drinks. You can walk to Elounda but it is not a great exercise in the heat.

A quiet place perfect for couples who need to take a break from all. I will not recomand to young people. There is no greek spirit, no music. Everything is ridiculous expensive, meaning minibar or other drinks at the beach or evening dinner. (Pay attention: they charge you for what you drink even if you have half board). They do not keep for you anything from the dinner you paid for if you arrive after 10PM. Instead they serve some cold snack: salad and potato chips(This is extremelly lame and not a 5 star hotel behaviour). The rooms have old furniture and bathroom and do not look like in the pictures. But on the other hand the food was tasty and plenty to choose from, the staff was nice, the beach small but ok, the garden in the resort is nice to explore (because there is no other entertaining option) cleaning was amazing. Not for young people, I repeat!!

We stayed at Lyttos Beach Hotel as a family of four adults and one infant for 7 nights, and it was a wonderful experience. The food was superb, with a wide variety of options available at every meal. There are three main restaurants to choose from, plus one special restaurant available once per stay (one another was closed during our visit). The hotel offers several bars that serve both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages throughout the day. The complex also features a water park, a kids' playground, and a club for small children — perfect for families. The beach is right at the hotel and is well equipped with plenty of deckchairs and sun umbrellas. What truly sets this hotel apart is the exceptional service. From the animation team and chefs to the front desk staff, everyone was friendly, professional, and eager to help. We had an issue with our original room (1208), and the staff handled it with great care. We were first offered a villa at no extra cost, but declined as it was too far from the main facilities given we were traveling with a small child. Instead, we were given a different room and a fair compensation. A special thanks to Michalis from the front desk, who was incredibly helpful and understanding throughout our stay — and even welcomed us back almost like old friends when we unexpectedly returned due to a canceled flight caused by bad weather. Highly recommend this hotel for families looking for comfort, fun, and outstanding service.

We spent a wonderful two weeks at this hotel and overall had a great experience. Pros: + The aquapark was a big hit, especially for families with kids – plenty of slides and water attractions to keep everyone entertained. + The playground for children was excellent – modern, safe, and full of fun activities. + The hotel grounds are beautifully maintained, with lots of greenery and well-kept gardens that create a pleasant and relaxing atmosphere. + The food was very good and varied, with something for everyone. There are two themed restaurants in addition to the main buffet, offering some nice dining alternatives. + Drinks served at the bars were of good quality and nicely prepared. + There are many swimming pools available, including one dedicated to sport swimming, which was great for getting some proper exercise. + The beach is easily accessible from the hotel, and sun loungers are provided free of charge – a definite plus. + The entertainment team did a fantastic job, offering high-quality shows and activities every evening. There was always something fun happening. + Free parking is available for guests, which made things very convenient for us. Cons: - The rooms are quite small and could use some renovation. The air conditioning was especially noisy, which was a bit disruptive at night. - There were occasional queues at the bars, especially in the evening when more guests were around, which could be slightly frustrating. Despite a few minor drawbacks, the overall experience was very positive.

Still here as I write this review....booked Lyttos beach but got upgraded to Lyttos Mare, which is a sort of extension to Lyttos beach. Both hotels are set on huge and beautifully kept grounds, and the ambience is very inviting and exudes a luxury feel. The resort is beautifully designed and very big, so it doesn't feel crowded at all despite a lot of guests being on vacation, with lots of varied amenities. The whole resort is kept absolutely clean, and all members of staff are super helpful. Had access to the amenities such as the Aquapark and Sports Centre on Lyttos beach, which was lovely. Dining options are numerous in both resorts, and food was mostly very good and tasty. Nikos at the Lobby bar in Lyttos Mare is an asset. He is very friendly and funny and made great cocktails. The beach front is also very clean and sunbeds plenty. There is so much to do and nibble on both resorts. Had a spa facial and massage that was also very good, though a bit pricey. I can go on and on, but all in all, a memorable vacation. ✨️

A Decent Family Stay at Lyttos Beach Hotel, Our family of five recently had a pleasant holiday at Lyttos Beach Hotel in Anissaras, Crete. For those looking for a family-oriented hotel in the Hersonissos area with a good range of facilities, Lyttos Beach is a noteworthy option. The hotel grounds are well-kept, and there were enough amenities to keep our family occupied. The food offering was adequate, providing a reasonable selection, though the main buffet restaurant did tend to get quite crowded, particularly at dinner. While the themed nights offered some variation, we found the buffet did become somewhat repetitive over the course of our week-long stay. We felt an additional on-site restaurant choice with table service might have enhanced the dining experience, and this led us to try a few local spots in Hersonissos, which was a nice opportunity to sample different Cretan dishes. We appreciated the on-site gym, which was well-equipped and available for guests to use freely. Undoubtedly, a significant draw for us was the hotel's water park. Our three young children thoroughly enjoyed the slides and pools, and seeing them have so much fun was certainly a highlight of the trip. This water park is a strong feature for families visiting this part of Crete. The kids' clubs also seemed popular and provided some good entertainment options for the children. Access to the beach was convenient, and the children enjoyed playing on the sand. We opted for a luxury family room that came with its own swimming pool. The room had a modern design, but we found it a bit snug for five people and our luggage. However, the private pool was a definite bonus. Overall, Lyttos Beach Hotel in Anissaras provided a decent base for our family holiday in Crete. It offers many facilities geared towards families, particularly those with younger children who will love the water park.

Spoiler alert: Elounda Mare did not disappoint. Do you want to have the best vacation of your life? Do you want to feel like royalty? Then elounda mare is for you. We went for our honeymoon, and six nights was not enough. The views, the staff, the food, it was all incredible. Our villa was so clean, cozy and homey. First off, you need to take advantage of the wine tasting. The sommelier is so knowledgeable and also so fun. We had an amazing afternoon tasting wines, after our super fun cooking class. We made authentic Greek food, mussaka, and it’s a dish and skill we will treasure forever. All of the restaurants are to die for, we had no issue going back for dinner a second or third night to a restaurant because there were so many things on the menu we wanted to try. What makes this place the best, was the staff. They made us feel like a part of the family. And if you are getting married anytime soon, there will be no one more excited to welcome you than Elounda Mare. They went above and beyond to make our stay incredible. It was a long trek to make, but we will be returning to Elounda Mare again and again.

Timing is everything. We stayed in this hotel during the shoulder season when it was 5 days from closing down for the season. They upgraded us from a 1 bedroom suite to a 2 bedroom suite. It was incredible. I was blown away with the fantastic private pool, the balcony view and the amazing room. They also had air condition that worked really well. Keep in mind, I was there end of October so the AC was not really needed. I found the staff extremely helpful. The breakfast was good. Not anything super amazing, but plentiful and full of variety. Plus I could make my own tea which made me happy. The bottle of wine they gave us was delicious. Their olives were divine. The restaurant was okay for some food and really good for some dishes. The Yacht club food was absolutely fabulous for me. Their beach was lovely and since there was no one there in the morning until 10:30 AM, I felt like I was on a private beach. They have a dive shop and the water is perfectly clear. I really enjoyed my time here and I have to remind people the timing. End of October is wonderful of you can handle the cold.

Me, my husband and 2 kids 5 and 7 ,visited Rinela hotel this June and may I say that the resort was beyond our expectations. Being Greeks who live abroad we were expecting normal rooms in a normal resort but honestly the resort was excellent. The place is in general clean, my kids enjoyed to the max playing to the sandy beach plus every time we wanted to relax a bit we were dropping the kids to the stay and play kids club that the professional teachers were taking care of their activities very well and we were relaxing in the same area with no worries. We also enjoyed the activities or cinema nights for kids at the theater area. The food is very good for value. We will definitely visit again! Thank you all!

One if the best resorts i have visited in Crete. Offers rooms with relaxing beautiful views and a calm scenery all around. Till now we have tried 2 different type of rooms and we are happy! The staff from the cleaning lady to the high management are always friendly and will listen to your needs. The food is very good, even the one in the Main restaurant that you can have access with no booking, is pretty nice, the queue is bearable plus there are also many other Ala cart options plus a nice barbque place at the beach. Enjoy cocktails and snacks next to the pool while your kids play in the kids pool. We recommend it.

Went in late May and was a superb location for a family holiday. Lots to do in the resort and lots accessible by hire car around the island to explore. Food is perfect for a family, lots of choice and all very tasty. The place is well maintained and our room was excellent. We had a double with a split sofa bed for our two boys (7/11). Atmosphere is great, friendly and helpful staff, pools (all 5 of them!) are varied and never too busy.

Pilot Beach is a large holiday hotel resort with direct access to the beach. The pools are large and great for families. We had a very large room. The service is very friendly and professional. A good place for family holidays with kids. For my taste the restaurants are too big and the food okay, but not outstanding.

In the restaurants, we were kept informed about themed evenings, always welcomed with a smile, and even offered ouzo on the house. We’d like to especially thank Laura at the Kronos restaurant – a polite, well-groomed, and cheerful young lady who made every interaction pleasant. At Galos Beach, Stefania took great care of us, ensuring we were always comfortable and well-served. The level of service and kindness truly made us feel like part of a family. The gentlemen at the pancake station were also incredibly kind, engaging with the children, offering them compliments, and making them feel appreciated and at ease. We wholeheartedly recommend Pilot Beach Resort. It’s not just a place to stay – it’s a carefully crafted experience where every detail matters. We can’t wait to return! If there’s one small area for improvement, it would be the evening shows, which could benefit from a bit more variety or energy to match the excellence seen throughout the rest of the resort.

Excellent hotel with super friendly staff. The rooms are very nice, well kept, and designed for comfort — each building has only two floors, so every room comes with either a terrace or balcony. It’s generally very quiet and at times even feels surprisingly private. We stayed on a half board basis and really enjoyed the food. Breakfast offered a great variety of options to suit different tastes. The pools were clean and well maintained, though we mostly preferred spending time at the hotel’s private beach, which was a real highlight. There’s also a kids club, a mini train (paid) that takes you to two nearby destinations, and a few useful on-site amenities like a small shop, a mini supermarket, and a car rental office. Overall, a great stay. The only small suggestion would be for the hotel to offer free water during dinner — it’s a minor point, but would make the experience even better. Other than that, everything was excellent and we would definitely recommend it.

We chose it for our honeymoon. We come from a country where the service sector is already perfect, but everything was better than we expected. We had already seen and liked the hotel, but we were very pleased that the staff was so kind and helpful. It is a quiet adult hotel, the atmosphere is nice. Our room with a private pool was perfect, but the pool was very cold, it doesn't get much sunlight. I wish it had heating. The food is good, but the need for a special reservation made it very difficult for us. We couldn't try the restaurants we wanted. Moreover, we wanted to make a reservation from the first day we arrived, but it was impossible. Please fix this for future customers. It was a very special hotel for me and I would like to come again.

The hotel is minimalist and luxurious, the rooms are super clean, the pools are great, the food and the drinks are fabulous. You have everything here and I can’t think of a negative thing to say. Spent a week here, it was awesome, the location is beautiful, it's quiet, the view from our room was stunning.. the staff can't do enough for you, they're all really helpful and do their best to speak English. (Much better than I could speak Greek!) We were in the cool living section, so had paid slightly more for the holiday. This gave us access to the more "exclusive" sections of the hotel and the nicer restaurant for breakfast and lunch. We visited Elounda town for dinner a couple of times, again the locals are just lovely. All round, a brilliant place to go and we would absolutely go again!

Quite conflicted about this hotel. We’ve had a really lovely, relaxing time, but didn’t get off to the best start. We paid a lot to stay here for the premium all inclusive, as we were attracted by the variety of restaurants and bars, but in the time we were there, the Spritz/rooftop bar never opened so felt slightly let down by the place. The staff are so friendly but there are not enough of them to open all the venues. There’s only 1 restaurant you can book for a la carte lunch and 1 for dinner (not made clear on website) unless you are cool living who have 1 further restaurant. We had no choice of being able to upgrade to Cool Living as they don’t offer rooms for 3 (travelled with my 20 year old daughter) and there’s no option to pay to get access to the extras. The a la cartes aren’t open every day so are pretty much fully booked for the week, so people are missing out and complaining. As such we’ve been bumped a couple times to fit other people in before they leave. I fortunately booked the sushi before we came out and it was superb. We were then bumped 2 hours before our reservation for the Pita Canteen (served at same restaurant as Sushi) but they actually offered us a meal at a restaurant in Plaka (Ocean) with taxi organised both ways. I was extremely grateful for this gesture as the food was lovely and the restaurant had a lovely ambiance. It overlooked Spinalonga. The food in buffet is good quality but extremely limited with no live cooking stations (I’d expect an egg station at breakfast at least). The hotel rooms are just odd. We have a suite so can sleep a third person on sofa. The bathroom has a shower over the tap (no where to attach to wall and stand under) and a further bath on the balcony. The Nespresso machine was missing on arrival (although sorted for the next morning), toilet didn’t stop flushing (reported and never fixed), the shower curtain rail falls down, bedroom blinds aren’t attached properly so you can’t easily pull them up and down. Curtains not fitted properly. All in all, the place is quiet (partly thanks to being adults only), it has friendly, hardworking staff, and incredible views. Wine & food is of good quality, although I find there is a very limited choice in the buffet at breakfast, lunch and dinner. Even the a la cartes have a limited menu, so we avoided and ended up eating out nearly every day - spending even more money. If I came back I’d definitely spend less on a nice apartment and eat out in the many fabulous restaurants Elounda has to offer to support the locals who are clearly passionate about showcasing their local produce. We fell in love with Elounda itself, but unfortunately not this hotel.

The hotel is unbelievable, rooms are all amazing and the buffet is great. Sadly all of the restaurants are fully booked for the next few centuries, so if you want a table you’d be better off packing your own. ‘Reservations agent’ couldn’t reserve a parking spot, let alone the most competitive tables in the whole of Greece (even though they’re always empty as per the photo). Would really recommend the hotel for everything other than tables & chairs.

A wonderfully relaxing hotel with great attention to detail throughout. The staff are one of the highlights, very friendly and completely on top of their game preempting every need. The rooms are lovely and have been well thought out, beautifully designed and with stunning views of the sea and a great place to relax. Breakfast was delicious with an ever changing rotation of specials and bottomless, hot coffee! We didn’t want to leave the 2 pools and beach with its crystal clear water. This is a great place to stay and just a 10 min taxi ride from the Old Town

Sandy beach was perfect at your door step with lounges to use exclusively for hotel guests. Breakfast was first class. Large variety and changes every day.

The property was the first Autograph Collection resort/hotel I've stayed at. I went in with no expectations and was blown away. From the start, the pre check-in communication was good (answered a few of my questions). The property itself has amazing amenties like: 2 pools (party with a bar and sunchairs or quiet zone with sunchairs). Decent gym with a rower, weight machines, and free weights. They have an indoor and outdoor setup. (Outdoor is smaller). The property is beachfront with sunchairs and umbrellas. The staff stock the beach towels each morning. The spa has an indoor hydrotherapy circuit (2 benches with jets in the pool). Also, a steam and sauna room. The on-site restaurant was amazing delicious breakfast and dinner selections. The room I chose had a private plunge pool with bathtub. The whole decor and ambiance of the room was immaculate. The HVAC system was having issues but the staff always took care of the issue while I was away. The staff Zoi, Eno, Margarita, Alexis, Elpida, Konstantina, Nikos, and Argyris all took care of me, as well as Evangelos the GM took time out of his busy day to chat with me. I will return!

Late review but my husband and I stayed here for our honeymoon in October. It was beyond amazing. Great staff and great facilities. Our days consisted of the breakfast brunch (sometimes with a mimosa) followed by a gym workout (pretty good facilities which people rarely use) followed by a day at the beach ordering white wine and Greek salad. In the evening we would step out to Chania for dinner, you can either take a quick 20 min bus or order a taxis. Regarding the food, the breakfast was exceptional with a different buffet menu every single day. You can also order omelets and any coffee or juice. The lunch menu was fairly small but perfect enough for us. Also, the streets are not unsafe at all, we felt perfectly safe walking to the grocery store or nearby restaurants. There are a lot of cats (not at the resort but nearby) , we ended up being guilted by their cuteness into buying cat food everyday but it made our experience that much better. We definitely will be back! Also highly recommend swimming in the ocean or doing a boat trip if the weather is in your favor!

Our room, closest to the water with no obstructions, was simply gorgeous and felt like a private oasis. We have stayed at Domes Zeen for the past four years. We first stayed on our honeymoon and were made to feel so welcome and special. We also saw how comfortable families were made to feel. A year later we returned with our daughter and have been back every year since. Last year we went with some friends (who don't have kids) and they had such a good time they've rebooked. I'm currently battling to return this year because I love it so much. The facilities are great, food and drinks excellent, the staff are really what truly make it as they are so helpful and kind. The pool and beach are beautiful. Can easily walk into town along the beach road or take a bus. I cant wait to go back!

Brilliant hotel, one of the best I've stayed in. We had a first floor suite with a great balcony area, lower sites have a small yard with a plunge pool. The room was massive, comfortable and opening it out to the balcony area gave a great amount of space. Decor was tasteful throughout, and bed was very comfortable. In the common areas, there is a great beach area with bar, a 50m (?) pool, two restaurants and another bar next to the pool that is open into the evening. Overall a great place to spend a week or two and I would make a point of returning. Quality of food was excellent, even if you stay half board. Staff are professional and welcoming, and of course very helpful. This is a very well run hotel. The hotel lies 25 mins walk from the old town of Chania, or you can wind down the beach in the opposite direction. There are other places to eat/drink along the shoreline in both directions within 5-10 minutes walk. There is also a gym on site that is reasonably well equipped with cardio and weights, which is all open air. Things to improve: the only real issue is that of the pool. Although it's a very big pool, as an adult it's impossible to use because there's no segregation of the children's area so that adults can use the pool to swim. It's basically impossible to use the pool for swimming without colliding with either a child or some form of floating toy every couple of metres. Also pool opening hours are 0900-1800, so no chance for early morning swim either. So if you are coming here for a relaxing time and to swim, you'll be disappointed because you won't be able to. Only other niggle is that they need to put a sign in the main road so that you can find the place - even with Google Maps it's impossible to find (hint - follow the small lane alongside the petrol station operator the Intersport shop!). Oh, and please provide water for the cats! I would absolutely revisit this place, it's great to spend time at. But I would do it at a quiet time where access to the pool is possible.

Disappointing Experience – Not Worthy of 5 star Fine Hotels & Resorts Status. We booked a 3-night stay at Grecotel Caramel Boutique Resort in Crete through the American Express Fine Hotels + Resorts (FHR) program, expecting a premium, family-friendly experience. Unfortunately, the reality fell far short of the promise. Pre-arrival communication was poor—the hotel never responded to multiple email inquiries about airport transportation. It took two international phone calls just to confirm a transfer, which ended up costing €120 each way for a one-hour ride. For a supposedly high-end property, this level of service was already concerning. After a 20-hour journey from California, we arrived at 9 p.m., only to find that no restaurants were open and room service offered no kids’ menu—a major oversight for a resort marketed to families. A significant issue was the lack of transparency and integrity regarding FHR benefits. Our booking was eligible for a €100 property credit and a $125 Amex FHR promotion for food and beverage with a 2+ night stay. The hotel refused to honor either credit, insisting that room-charged transportation didn’t qualify (despite being explicitly billed to our room). This contradicts both Amex’s terms and basic hospitality standards. Breakfast was also disappointing. While there was a large spread, it consisted mostly of repetitive cold cuts and cheeses, with the hot food borderline inedible. Only the eggs and pastries were passable. The air conditioning in our room did not work, which made sleeping uncomfortable. While the room itself was clean, there were no washcloths provided, an odd and inconvenient omission—guests are expected to bathe with hand towels. Lastly, the location is remote, over an hour from key destinations like Chania and Knossos Palace, making it less than ideal for travelers wanting to explore the island. In our experience—and in alignment with similar feedback from other disappointed guests—this hotel does not meet the standards of a 5-star resort or the Fine Hotels & Resorts program. Between the poor communication, unfulfilled benefits, mediocre food, and inconvenient location, I cannot recommend this property.

We had a wonderful time at the Grecotel Caramel Butique Resort. The rooms were clean and cosy. The private garden was a surprising and pleasant option to spend a spare time at the hotel. Although the weather at the beginning of May was not pampering, we could benefit from the advantages of the hotel. Restaurants served delicious local meals in a nice athmosphere. The staff of the hotel was very kind, caring and helpful. With a great pleasure we will get back here.

We also liked the *WhatsApp contact* with reception—fast and easy. *Points to improve*: the rooms could use some modernization, the house wine quality should be better, and restaurants would benefit from having more waiters during busy hours. In short, it’s a fun and friendly place for families—but don’t expect high-end luxury.

There’s not enough shade, not enough sun-beds and not enough umbrellas. Guests are waking up to reserve sun-beds and umbrellas even though they say it’s not allowed. Overall it’s not a bad resort, but around the 3.5 score and probably 70% of its price.

Fodele Beach and Water Park Resort technically meets the criteria for a 5-star resort—24/7 reception, multiple pools, restaurants, bars, and leisure facilities—but in reality, it lacks the polish and attention to detail that define true luxury. It’s more accurate to describe it as a solid 4-star family resort. What really stood out was the exceptional staff. Every team member we encountered was warm, professional, and eager to help. A special thank you to Popi at the Starlight Bar, whose kind and upbeat personality made our evenings more enjoyable, and to the lovely lady at customer relations who went out of her way to make our stay memorable—including helping us book a serene catamaran cruise, which ended up being the highlight of our holiday. The resort is clearly family-focused, with a great on-site water park for kids and entertainment (albeit basic). The small train running through the hilly property was a big help in the heat. Communication via WhatsApp with reception was a great touch, and though not advertised, staff were always willing to give us a lift back to our room via golf buggy—something I appreciated due to mobility challenges. Positives also included a strong and reliable Wi-Fi connection throughout the resort, a lovely free room upgrade on arrival, and a broad all-inclusive drinks menu. These touches definitely improved the experience. That said, several areas were underwhelming: Comfort: Robes and towels were rough and not the spa-quality you'd expect. Housekeeping was minimal—beds were made daily, but sheets weren’t changed during our entire 7-night stay, which was disappointing at a beach resort. Dining: Buffets were varied but became repetitive after a few days. The Greek à la carte restaurant was especially disappointing—it reused buffet dishes with nicer plating and lacked any real "à la carte" feel. Thankfully it was included, because it wouldn’t have been worth paying extra for. Facilities: Some venues, like the grill restaurant, were closed due to the season—something we weren’t informed of when booking. The mini golf was poorly maintained and far below expectations. Sustainability: Despite paying a €105 "Climate Tax," the resort still uses disposable plastic straws. In 2025, this is unacceptable and raises serious questions about their environmental commitment. Overall, this resort is best for families with young children who want sun, pools, and a convenient all-inclusive setup. The staff are the true stars here—they genuinely care and go above and beyond. However, if you’re a couple or traveler looking for luxury, comfort, refined dining, and sustainable practices, you’ll likely be disappointed. We got the sunshine and a bit of rest, but by the end of the week, we were ready to head home. We won’t be returning, and believe there are better-managed resorts offering a much more authentic 5-star experience for the same price.

The staff were amazing, the hotel was okay, not great if mobility is an issue as it’s on the side of a mountain with hundreds of steps, however there were lifts and staff would take you to and from your room in a golf buggy.

We had a brilliant 3-night stay at Laguna at the end of our trip to Crete. The hotel is gorgeous and very well maintained. Food and drinks are excellent quality, and staff work really hard to please the guests. The barbecue and Greek music at the pool on Sunday was so much fun. The magic show with Rocco was also fun, my kids loved it. I tried the spa and Polina did a great relaxing massage. We also went to the Black Rose (pirate ship) trip and was fantastic. The beach is not a calm one and very rocky, so bear that in mind if the beach style is a deal breaker for you. Just a note on the rooms, yes, they are showing signs of use, however this didn’t impact our stay as our room was huge and very clean with an amazing bed. I wish they keep the same gorgeous decor/style when renovating in the future as it adds a lot of character. Highly recommended!

Our stay in Crete was incredible. The resort is so picturesque. We even saw a couple getting married there, a true testament to how beautiful the backdrop is. The Olympic-sized pool was one of the nicest we’ve ever seen. The location couldn’t be better: beachfront, yet also within walking distance to several local restaurants. Overall, we had a very pleasant stay at Amirandes Grecotel in Crete. The hotel is beautifully designed, well-maintained, and has a luxurious yet relaxed atmosphere. One of the absolute highlights was the service – all the staff were incredibly kind, helpful, and professional throughout our stay. Housekeeping was also excellent for the most part, although when we first checked in, we did notice some issues like hairs on the toilet seat and stains on the curtains, which was unpleasant. However, after reporting it, things were quickly resolved. The rooms are stylish and generally very clean. The hotel is especially suitable for families with children – very family- and child-friendly. However, I wouldn’t recommend it as much for couples looking for romantic or lively evenings. There were no real evening entertainment programs except some light kids’ activities. Occasionally there was music, but it usually stopped around 22:20. One of the downsides for me was the food. While the quality was good, I found the variety quite limited and the buffet often repetitive. As a Muslim guest, it was also challenging at times – food wasn’t always labeled clearly, so I didn’t know what kind of meat I was eating. At breakfast, for example, there weren’t separate pans used for different types of food, which made things a bit difficult for dietary restrictions. These small details made a big difference to me and slightly affected my overall experience. Despite that, I would still recommend this hotel for families looking for a calm, relaxing environment. With some improvements in the dining experience – especially for guests with specific dietary needs – the hotel could truly reach an excellent level. Summary: A beautiful, peaceful family resort with top-notch service, though with room for improvement in food variety and inclusivity for dietary preferences

The Staff was kind and proactively attendive to our needs. We stayed at Domes of Elounda for the second time (September 23/24). Usually I never visit a place twice. But we really loved last years experience. And this year was no different. The hotel staff is super sweet and caring. Although it’s quite busy and almost the end of the season staff was always friendly. As a long term Marriott Bonvoy memberI was lucky enough to receive a super nice villa upgrade. This was of course not expected, but if you ask nicely and there is availability the hotel guest service team will do everything to help you out. This year we again booked a couple massage. This was a perfect experience once again. I also liked that you now can have breakfast at Blend as well and with the half board option you can have dinner at the CORE outside area as well. The only recommendation I have and this goes for all hotels. I drink around 3 liters of water a day. I feel like that 0,5 liters complimentary water is a bit too less, especially if you look at the prices of the rooms. However, as a Marriott Platinum or Titanium or guest with a certain room category you have access to Haute Living where you can get food and drinks all day (very nice!). But overall awesome experience and I can recommend domes of elounda.

What a wonderful week at Domes of Elounda with our family! Having returned after three years I was slightly nervous that Domes wouldn’t be quite as magical as our previous trips. I needn’t have worried though - from the moment we set foot in the resort until the second we left, we had the most blissful time that exceeded our already high expectations. Service was consistently excellent, food was delicious, our suite was luxurious and the vibe was cool and relaxed. Particular mention to Stella for making our holiday so special - she’s a star and nothing short of perfect is good enough in her eyes!

Would also like to thank the main manger for looking after us on our last day as he helped us out massively and let us keep are room for a while as we had a late flight. Only gripe would be that restaurant staff can be a little slow to serve you drinks often id eaten my breakfast before my coffee was ordered. Other than that outstanding. Food great drinks great room nice and friendly staff.

Amazing view, the staff were great, the food was fantastic. Reserve your dinner reservation as soon as possible. They are usually booked up the day before so download the app before you get there. It's a rare place that's great for families with young children and people who want to be away from young children. They have an adult only part of the resort with its own bars.

There are so many great things to say about the Creta Maris resort and we can't wait to visit again! We were pleasantly surprised (and truly delighted!) by how well the hotel caters for vegetarians and vegans and also those on a gluten-free diet. Everything in the buffet at each restaurant is so clearly labelled. We were impressed with not only the variety of delicious cuisine on offer for breakfast, lunch and dinner, but also the very high quality of what was offered, much of it organic and sustainably produced. Absolutely top marks for this - we've never come across a resort where we've felt so welcome as vegetarians. The resort is extremely well-maintained, spotlessly clean, and has so many activities for both adults and children. Creta Maris is absolutely perfect for families, with a superb kids club on offer. What stands out however is the huge passion they have in delighting its guests at every opportunity. From the moment we arrived to when we departed, we were amazed by how well we were looked after. A special thanks to Alexandra in Guest Relations, Manolis at the Concierge, and Nektaria at the Reception, who really went the extra-mile to make us feel very welcome. We learnt that the resort is family-owned, and I believe this makes a huge difference to their approach and ethos. An outstanding experience at Creta Maris and we're already looking forward to our next visit!

Recently came back from our Greek holiday this month and I'm glad and delighted that we stayed in this amazing and luxurious village-typed hotel. Overall experience from food to facilities in general was amazing. The sorrounding was very quiet that made it a perfect place to wind down. The Filipino staff in the hotel were kind and helpful especially their guest relation officer Elias who was fantastic on his dealings with the clients. Although, I heard that the hotel has got a new owner now and is planned to undergo further redevelopment this year? I am so excited what it turns into as the hotel is already perfect and beautiful to my liking. I would definitely come back to this same hotel in the future and see the changes!

She was always kind, patient, and full of energy, making sure our child looked forward to the kids' program every single day. Even when the weather was bad last week, her positive and dedicated attitude kept all the children happily entertained. The mini disco was a definite highlight—Diana got the kids excited with music and dancing, creating such a joyful atmosphere. Our little one adored it! We are so grateful to Diana for making our vacation so special and really hope to see her again on our next visit. There is no adults only pool and the screaming kids are a bit much when you don’t have your own! Very much a family resort with the classic mums getting up at 5am and taking all the sun beds also. Would look elsewhere if you’re a couple for the price.

The service is amazing, people are very kind and helpful! They told us where we can go to visit some nice places, other beaches and restaurants! They change the towels, fix the beds and arrange the room twice per day and leave nice compliments.

We stayed at this hotel at the end of April, at the beginning of the season, for a week. We loved our stay! The setting is magnificent and unique in Europe. We tried all the restaurants, and they were delicious, with some wonderful culinary discoveries. The staff is young and relaxed (which we like). A few tips: - When booking, request a west-facing room to enjoy the afternoon and evening sun. - Download the Stella App as early as possible and book your restaurants upon arrival. - The swim-up rooms allow you to have sunbeds to yourself. - The all-inclusive option is worth it if you're staying at the hotel all day, eating or enjoying cocktails. - The prices at the souvenir shop are competitive compared to shops on the beach and in town.

Absolutely fantastic place. Service was brilliant from the second we arrived to the moment we sadly had to leave. The staff were friendly and couldn't do enough for you. The resort itself is beautiful and right next to the sea and only a short walk to a beach town if you want to get out and explore. The standout thing about this place has to be the food. Especially the seafood and lunch restaurants. Even the buffet is lovely. Cannot recommend this place enough for a relaxing getaway. We have never returned to a hotel before but have already planned our 2nd visit next year!

We came to Daios Cove for our honeymoon and were absolutely blown away so much so that we extended our stay! If you’re a honeymooner looking for that perfect mix of luxury, relaxation, incredible facilities and service, this is the place. Everything about the resort is next level. The setting is stunning, the rooms are beautiful, and the service is flawless. Every staff member we met was kind, warm, and went above and beyond to make our stay special. The room service team, pool bar staff, and the teams at Ocean and Taverna restaurants were all amazing and the pool/beach attendants were just as friendly and helpful, always ready with a smile. The cocktails were seriously impressive, and the food was spot-on every time. Make sure you go for the all-inclusive option, you absolutely won’t regret it. Daios Cove is a wonderful place. The hotel is beautiful and everything looks perfect. The staff are very friendly, helpful, and well trained – they really do everything to make guests feel special. They are also amazing with children: always smiling, patient, and kind. Our kids felt very welcome and happy here. The food is delicious, the views are amazing, and the whole place is peaceful and relaxing. We really enjoy our time here and will definitely come back again.

For the price, the service could DEFINITELY be better. The place is absolutely beautiful with amazing views. We were upgraded to full board and to what was considered a suite, however, I wouldn’t have called it a suite. The only difference was that we got a private pool (not an infinity one) and some sun beds. We rejected the room and opted for the one we had booked originally, which was exactly the same, except it had an amazing infinity pool and a stunning view minus the sun beds. ‘Full board’ only included some restaurants, and lunch was only available at specific places. Also, it did not include any alcoholic drinks at all. The average cocktail was €15. The staff, although friendly, were rather inattentive. I have been to cheaper 4 star hotels and received better service, that’s for sure. We didn’t tip as we didn’t feel the service was great, but to our surprise upon checking out and paying the final bill, tips were automatically added. It was my first time there, but I wouldn’t be returning for these reasons. It’s really more about aesthetics with this place.

Stunning place to relax and enjoy good weather and amazing food. We stayed in early May so it was not at full capacity, the weather was around 25° C most days but the sea was cold which was fine for us but others didn't venture too deep! We were accommodated in one of the rooms that needed updating but it was very comfortable, clean and we did have an amazing sea view. The staff were so lovely, nothing was too much trouble and we were made to feel very welcome wherever we were in the resort. Definitely upgrade to the residents club if you can stretch your budget. The buffet area was generally okay but the restaurants were on another level. The food, the atmosphere, the drinks, all amazing and again the staff were on point with their service and loved to chat with us. All the staff speak very good English too. The fitness facilities were also excellent for a hotel. This place is a little gem and would definitely return for another stay, but longer next time!!

Amazing hotel. PROPER 5 STAR. The resort has a luxury finish throughout and great service - You don't need to leave. Our room was stunning with a private pool and sea views. The facilities throughout the resort were impeccable, in particular the spa. Hotel has exceptional staff, in particular Anna, the Pangea restaurant host. Every morning, Anna greeted us warmly. All the restaurants and the room service were great - we tried all of them. Highly recommend Daios Cove :)

We have stayed with the family at Avra Imperial in May/June. It's a brand new facility: very nice building. Super clean: both communal areas and rooms were immaculate. Big swimming pools. The main pool with a bar at the center. Overall good service: excellent concierge advices and also the luggage handlers were super helpful. Front Desk could improve the sense of urgency. The are 3 restaurants: 1 Mediterranean 1 Italian and 1 Asian a la carte plus normal buffet for full board. Full boards are allowed to free 3 meals per week a la carte. Overall food was good with a combo of traditional and continental. However lunch seemed much lighter Good spa facilities as well: kids are allowed in the internal pool 10 to 12. We didn't like the sea side: Kolimbari doesn't offer the best beach in Crete. However inside the Hotel you can rent cars from a super nice gentleman and drive to different beaches. We drove to Elafonisi, Falassarna, Platnias and Agia Marina with Falassarna being the best at 35 min drive.

We’ve spent a week at this resort and it was a good quality experience. We were full board and we enjoyed the food and the atmosphere of the restaurants, there was fresh squeezed orange juice on breakfast and water for dinner, but funny enough at lunch we were having to buy some water as there was nothing to drink. We’ve even noticed that the prices of drinks were different in different locations in the resort. Pools were excellent, clean and well maintained, beach is rocky and not very pleasant, rooms were well stocked and comfortable, cleaned daily. Staff were also very friendly and polite, especially Daniella at the seaside bar/restaurant, she looked after us most of the time and was always very nice to us! Only one thing we didn’t like was that half and full board guests don’t get any bands to be recognised, and they are asked constantly everywhere for the board. There was a fault In the system one day when we went for lunch and the staff couldn’t see we were full board so It was a bit of weird situation where everyone was looking at us like we were in the wrong place. In general we were very happy with our holiday!

Be very careful!!! This hotel has several restaurants, but only one is included for free with the half-board package. This is the first time we’ve encountered such a situation. In all other hotels of the same standard that we’ve stayed at during our travels, when there were multiple restaurants, there was never an extra charge. Since we weren’t informed, we had to pay for our first dinner. A steep bill for the first evening — €70, even after a 30% discount — and the hotel simply refused to do anything about it. It’s truly disappointing for such an establishment. We believe they could have at least compensated by offering us a free lunch at their self-service restaurant. Had they done that, we wouldn’t have been left with a negative impression. As it stands, our feelings about this hotel are mixed. We are currently staying here until May 15, 2025

It is definitely one of the most beautiful hotel in the entire world. The view is just amazing and the hotel is superb. The spa is great and you have and exceptional view of the sea from the restaurant . There is also a huge golf course and a lot of activities like jet ski and boat trip. All the staff are extremely kind and respond to any request immediately. I highly recommend and I hope to be back there soon!

Incredible experience! This was an amazing property and the service, along with the amenities were great from start to finish! My husband and I went to Elounda on the third leg of our island hopping honeymoon and we most definitely saved the best for last! We were warmly greeted with drinks and snacks upon arrival as well as a bottle of champagne in our room (as well as the traditional honey and nuts). Every little detail was thought of, down to a heart shaped door mat in front of our room. They also had a private breakfast delivered for us in our room the first morning. We had a private pool and beach access which was WONDERFUL! The view of the sunrise was unforgettable! We also went to the spa and experienced the pool, saunas and steam room (A+ experience). We ate at two of the restaurants (Il borro and Yacht Club) and had room service during our stay. The options were unlimited, but our favorite was Il Boro. The staff there was so accommodating (especially our waiter, who is hospitality at the nearby university!) We also frequented the beach bar quite a bit and Andreas was awesome! The breakfast offerings on the property were also amazing… several traditional Cretan dishes. We were so relaxed by the end of our stay here at Elounda!

Stayed in the Presidential 1 bedroom villa for 3 nights ! Amazing time .. we took a helicopter from Mykonos so we were able to land right at the resorts helipad . They left us a bunch of wine , fruits , cakes and food in our villa waiting for us ! The hidden gem of this suite was the walkway down to a private jetty right on the sea ! Amazing little spot ! We also took out the resorts yacht for a day sail where I proposed to my girlfriend ! They set it up beautifully! 10/10 for style and service ! We did not visit the hotels pool since we had our own private pool and sea access but everything looked beautiful!

The place is magic and our happy place. The rooms are spacious, you have you own pool and the views are simply spectacular. The areal is huge and it’s not crowded. The beds are comfortable and you can choose the cushions you feel most comfortable with. The food is simply delicious and you can drink cocktails even in the pool, if you like to. But the real gems are the people. You always feel welcomed, feels the warmth and passion. And that the highest value of this place. If you have the chance to go there do not hesitate, you are going to love it.

The hotel was lovely, with an incredible view. However, we paid for a double, and we got a twin. The rooms could do with a bit of an update. The material was broken on the chairs, and the mesh blind. The bedding is old and had dirty patches. Also, I wouldn't advise staying here if you struggle with walking as it's on a very steep hill, that you have to walk up with your luggage. You can get taxis to the door, though. There isn't much around either, so if you're happy to chill by the pool with delicious food, then this is your hotel.

Very friendly and helpful staff. Clean and tidy. Greek food in buffet was rather good, the pasta and pizza a bit less impressive. House wines not really great, but good choice of other drinks, both with and without alcohol. A bit too few sun loungers. A bit out of town, something like 30 minutes walk. Absolutely amazing views from pool and dining areas.

Had a great time here, all the staff (especially the manager who works really hard yet was always upbeat, friendly and helpful) were fantastic and the food was enjoyable. The food was lovely, I found it all to be very tasty and got to try lots of new dishes. I haven't felt that relaxed in a long time. Thank you for a great two week stay!

Steep hill to reception but would have been met by staff if we had realized there was a phone to call at the bottom of the bank, as arrival was early hours . Greeted by a lovely lad who was friendly and helpful food offered on arrival but were keen to get to room . Room was standard nothing special but clean, bottle of water in fridge but anymore had to be bought from the bar also kettle and tea and coffee in room .rooms cleaned daily if u wished and replacement towels .Asked for milk during the week but were told will see what we can do but never got any. Views were amazing , seating area some furniture was tired and needed replacing. Staff were lovely. Food wasn't great for us and twice food was undercooked. On leaving handing the key over to the lady on reception we were expecting her to say , "have you had a nice holiday?" but were greeted with "have you paid your room tax?" Hotel 4 star but we would question this . Definitely for those who are fit and able with the location.

Outstanding view with an extremely nice and clean pool. The staff here were exceptional and very kind. Not sure why other reviewers have left some negativity about the food because my whole family argue it was lovely! The food options change nearly everyday and there was a large variety and choice of great food. The rooms were spotlessly clean, although they could do with a airer to hang wet clothes. 5* for me. Thanks for a great stay definitely recommend.
