From Gothic palaces to Roman cathedrals, Dubrovnik is steeped in history. Wander the city’s winding cobbled streets and you’ll come across many diverse architectural styles. One landmark you cannot miss on your visit is Dubrovnik’s Ancient Walls - the vast structure was built in medieval times to protect the city.

So, what can you expect from the weather in Dubrovnik during your stay? The island enjoys plenty of sunshine during the summer and hot temperatures of 25-28 degrees Celsius, sometimes higher.

• In January and February, the Dubrovnik temperature is reflective of the time of year. The beginning of the year sees an average temperature of 8 degrees C°, making it more suited to winter city breaks.
• In March and April, Dubrovnik’s weather begins to pick up and the city becomes milder. 10°C is common around this time but the temperature can increase to 15 around spring.
• In May, Dubrovnik gets noticeably warmer with summer fast on the approach. The average temperature around this time is 18 degrees but some days can break into the early 20s.
• In June, Dubrovnik begins to really warm up with the temperature sitting comfortably in the early to mid 20s. During this time, the region’s sun-soaked beaches are the only place to be!
• In July and August, Dubrovnik welcomes its annual heatwave with temperatures of around 25 degrees. But that’s just an average, don’t be surprised if some days reach 28°C.
• Despite summer drawing to an end, Dubrovnik still experiences a warm spell with temperatures remaining in the low 20s.
• In October, Dubrovnik begins to cool down with temperatures of around 18 degrees much more common for this year.
• In November and December, Dubrovnik returns to milder weather and cooler temperatures of around 10 degrees, which later fall to around 5°C. But that shouldn’t stop you from visiting. Dubrovnik is quiet and great value around this time, should you wish to spend Christmas abroad.
