We took our two young children away for their first holiday and this was the perfect choice! We decided to go all inclusive which was a great idea because the amount and variety of food on offer was amazing. Each night the restaurant had a different cuisine theme as well as regular favourites and staples such as pizza and pasta. The pools were perfect and so clean; the different areas and activities by the pool were great too. Whilst we didn't use the kids club, all the children looked happy and our children were invited to join in the public events. It has been the perfect holiday.
All the staff have been so friendly and welcoming and the room was cleaned spotlessly every day! Thank you!

We stayed at Gran Castillo Tagoro Family & Fun, Playa Blanca, and sadly it didn’t live up to its 5-star rating. While our family room was spacious and the location convenient, too many details let it down.
Bath towels were tiny, the shower leaked all over the floor (unsafe for little ones), and the fridge was empty, small things that make a big difference in a supposedly 5 star hotel.
The buffet food was average, with limited variety and very little that felt local. As a gluten-free family, we had to pre-order each meal hours in advance, choosing our dinner during lunch, which took the enjoyment out of dining. No menus were provided, and when food arrived, it wasn’t of the quality expected for the price.
Facilities also looked tired compared with the photos, and service often felt stretched. When we raised concerns with Jet2 and the hotel, we received only a generic chatbox reply. The hotel later sent a letter, but when we went to reception to speak with the manager, we were asked to wait, after 15 minutes, no one came, so we gave up and went back to enjoy our holiday. It didn’t feel professional or guest-focused.
Overall, it was fine, but definitely not a 5-star experience. With better food, more attention to detail, and genuine customer care, this hotel could be so much more, but for now, it just misses the mark.

Definitely not 5 matar hotel (4.5 as promoted)
The room itself was fabulous clean, spacious, and very comfortable. The location is also excellent, with easy access to the town and surrounding areas.
Unfortunately, the food really let the place down. The food hall felt more like a rabble than a relaxing dining experience. If you’re not a fan of buffet-style eating or you’re looking for a bit of class, this definitely isn’t the hotel for you.
It’s great for kids, with some basic entertainment on offer, but nothing particularly special. The animation team by the poolside were the highlight friendly and full of energy. Overall, a decent stay for families, but not ideal if you’re after quality dining or a more refined experience.

We came back to Gran Castillo Tagoro after a wonderful stay last year (I called it “a luxurious escape with exceptional service”), and this visit was even better. The resort has clearly been refreshed: renewed spaces, dedicated areas for kids, and quiet zones for adults that make it easy to relax as a family or unwind separately.
The menus have been updated across the restaurants and it shows—more variety with the same high quality. Ricotta (Italian) remains delicious—perfectly cooked pasta and great flavors—and Ohishi is equally excellent, with fresh, well-presented dishes.
Service is still the heart of the hotel: warm, attentive, and consistent. A special thank-you to managers Irene and Yanira, whose leadership and personal attention made us feel genuinely cared for throughout our stay.
Gran Castillo Tagoro keeps improving while staying true to its warm spirit. We left relaxed, well-fed, and already planning our next visit.

Just back two weeks ago from 8 days, this was our second year visiting here. We had a really good time again, the rooms are nice a clean. But the towels are small and I felt this year they were very reluctant to leave adequate amounts of shower gels and shampoo. Compared to 2024 anyways.
The staff were friendly throughout. We ate in the buffet mostly as it was very difficult to get into the Italian. The buffet was very good and no complaints at all.
The snack area has really gone downhill from the previous year. Flies everywhere and hotdogs left in Luke warm water while the burgers were not fresh at all. They looked so hard like leather so we didn’t bother with them. The bar is way under staffed during the day so we always had to cue. With that being said this and last years holiday was great value for money so the issues above (while frustrating) could be ignored. We were in a large group of family’s and everyone’s feeling was that the standards here have slipped in the 12 months. What’s really worse is that when we looked to price 2026s holiday the prices had gone through the roof. Along with this split in the hotel which makes no sense.
If the price was similar as before we’d probably go again and make our peace with the standard (not 5 star) but none of us will go there at the current prices as it’s not worth it at all and charging to use a splash park it’s very cheeky. Which is only really suitable for kids 5 and below.
