The hotel is really nice. Rooms and general hotel area kept to a high degree of cleanliness. Staff helpful and friendly. Only 2 things let it down. We stayed on a B&B basis so only had breakfast but found this could have been better. Some of the food in the hot buffet was cold/warm. The food containers were not replenished in a timely fashion. The other issue was the free bus into town. Considering the size of the hotel, there should have been multiple buses paid on and more frequent as we never got to use it due to sheer demand. Based on the cleanliness of the hotel and the staff helpfulness and friendliness I would still recommend

The hotel grounds are truly beautiful, with plenty of comfortable lounging options for relaxation. The service is excellent, and the staff is very friendly, speaking several languages – it makes you feel welcome right away. There are many activities available, like a great pool and evening program, bike rentals, and a spa, which makes the stay varied and family-friendly. The food is fine, served as a buffet – everything is good, but nothing exceptional. However, the vegan options could be more extensive, or a dedicated veggie section would be appreciated. The rooms are mostly clean, but if you look closely, you might find something to nitpick. A major downside is that the safe costs extra – this should be included in a hotel of this category. If you’re a fan of good coffee or espresso, it’s better to avoid it in-house. Overall, we had a lovely time and would happily come back.

We have given this a 3 star overall rating. Hotel: The hotel itself is nice, plenty of places to relax, staff are helpful at the reception and around the dining area. The swimming pools are salt water and pretty cold. There is always plenty of sun loungers to choose from. We travelled with our baby and there is plenty of access available for the plan including a lift to get to the upper pool. Food: We really struggled at dinner time to find things to eat, there was no English to explain what things were and a lot of it was either cold or very unappealing. There was always plenty of choice for dessert and a great salad bar. Breakfast was fine, and plenty of things to choose from. Room: We had a family sea view room which was fine.There was little space available with all the beds made up. It wasn't the cleanest as there was hair in the bathroom around the toilet area, very dusty as well. The air conditioning is a bit naff and isn't very cooling. We had the filter replaced and it still didn't reach below 17°. Location: The hotel is in a good area. There is plenty of restaurants and shops near by to go to, we went down to the beach front everyday for a walk and it was lovely. You can walk all the way along following a walkway which is very accessible. The hotel is at the top of a steep hill so keep this in mind when getting shopping or if you have a pram/walking aid. There are busses and taxis available though. Overall our experience has been good. The hotel advertises as a family hotel but I would definitely say it is more of an older child family place as there is not a lot for toddlers to do and there is a lot of funny looks given if your baby is unsettled at any time. We only spent a short time in the bar salon as it was very loud and we were unable to hear each other speak. Drinks can be expensive but the measures are very generous.

Generally speaking, a nice stay in a nice hotel. The staff are mostly very nice. One member was staggeringly rude and ignorant. We only ever saw and interacted with her once. The food was great and I'm a fussy sod. The only thing I would have liked to seen during meal times was more of a selection of desserts that weren't cold, I have sensitive teeth and can't do cold stuff etc. Rooms were actually quite nice, very quiet and had nice bathrooms. The in room AC was a bit lack luster and constantly put out dust around the room. The lifts felt like a death trap, always rattling, knocking and one of them jumped around quite a lot, we did complain (like others) but nothing happened the whole time we were there. The roof top bar was very nice and peaceful, with a small pool, a bar area, restaurant and large seating and relaxation area. The location was quite good for views and lots of peace and quiet but it was a bit of a trek on pavements that were dodgy to say the least and weirdly had lamp posts stuck right in the middle of them. But... Overall, it was OK.

This hotel is very good, staff are brilliant and the location of the rooms looking towards the sea and the entertainment is incredible. I think this is a perfect hotel for a family and couples. The location is a bit out of the way, not too bad if you’re looking for a quieter holiday. There is a local shopping centre with a few restaurants and the beach isn’t too much of a walk. The lovely reception will happily order a taxi that will arrive in about a few minutes we have never waited more than five minutes. Would definitely recommend. You probably need to buy a lot of taxis depending on what type of holiday you’re looking for. The food is okay, we were only on the breakfast board, the only thing I would improve on in the area is adding hash browns. Would definitely recommend for the price. Also entertainment at night is fabulous, always have great singers on til late. The hotel itself is gorgeous and always very well cleaned, will make sure we share this with our friends and family.

We have just enjoyed 10 amazing nights at the Abora as a family with 2 children. Everything was fantastic - the room, the pools, the restaurant, the entertainment. All the staff were so friendly and helpful. We loved the good vibes and music throughout the day and evening. We can't wait to come back with our friends! Thank you for a brilliant holiday 😊 We do not agree with negative reviews we have seen, some people just like to find problems with anything! Yes, there could be more shade (maybe some parasols?), but there are trees that provide shade so you can easily move your sunbed if you need to. We managed to find spots that could shade our youngest but still allow me to sunbathe.

The rooms exceeded our expectations (large and comfortable) and the stay was good value for money. It was good for children as there are two parks, a kids pool and water park. There was only one main bar, often with long queues. The food was generally good although cold - luckily we found a microwave! The in-between meals snacks were disappointing. We enjoyed the free shuttle to the town. The weather in November was perfect.

Nice place with a relaxing atmosphere. The beach is just a 10-15 minute walk away, which is convenient. However, there are no umbrellas by the pool, which can be a bit inconvenient on hot days. They offer late check-out, but note that it costs an extra 10 euros per hour. Overall, a good stay with a few small areas for improvement

First off don’t listen to the bad reviews. This place is amazing. The rooms are bright we had a lovely view of the ocean line and the palms trees leading to the pool. We were all inclusive and i would say it’s worth regarding the drinks bar but personally the food was not it. It was mediocre and repetitive. But there it’s a self serve food bar and that it quiet nice. The staff were amazing and super helpful. The best part of our holiday had to be the animation team they put on shows every night and hosted the kids club they also were in in the morning doing activities for kids and adults they are absolutely brilliant so welcoming and warming always having the craic. Location is very secluded but taxi are always available and cheap. Would recommend solely on the animation team themselves!

Where I should start? The first thing: ignore all the negative reviews. There always will be moaners. So, my tip would be ignore it! The check in procedure was very prompt and clear instructions have been provided by receptionist Ana S. We got offered dinner before heading to our room. Our room was located in block 5, room 5408. It's a standard double room with view of mountains and motorway. The complimentary bottle of water was also provided. The room had a funny sewage smell initially but it didn't bother us much. The shower is massive with shower gel, shampoo,hand wash supplied. The towels changed on daily basis. Room service and cleaning are excellent. Don't forget to leave tips for maids as it's back breaking job. The downside of shower room was that it's no ventilation. The air con had no issues. Room supplied with the safe,but it's payable, 2€/day. It was no issues with noise at all as well. Food:gorgeous and delicious. Such a big choice. You'll never starve. Fresh fruits,bakery,themed nights,live cooking. Even picky eaters will find something.The waiting staff doing great job 👏 👍 Massive thanks to them all and chefs. Drinks: Big choice of cocktails,spirits, self service beer and wine taps. Snack bar is the best. Big shout and thanks to Ali. The top man. Pools: brilliant 👏 Not packed, with plenty of sunbeds and activities. No such a thing as sunbed war.Slides are suitable for all age groups. Snack bar will not let you be hungry. Entertainment: Daily activities are such good fun. Loved water polo and aqua fitness. The night shows are good fun. Simply superb! We've visited Paradisus by Meliá Gran Canaria twice: first shortly after its opening in 2023, and again in November 2024. During our first stay, a few adjustments were still needed, but a year later, the service is flawless! A huge THANK YOU to Marta from Guest Experience for her kindness, smile, and dedication, which made our stay truly special. The quality of the food, room cleanliness, service, and activities for both children and adults were all perfect. We highly recommend Paradisus by Meliá Gran Canaria, and have even decided to return but this time to celebrate our wedding 😊

Firstly, I want to say a huge thank you to ALL staff at this amazing hotel. Everyone was so friendly and made us feel extra special it was amazing how every member of staff was with my 1 year old daughter. We had a small issue with our room that was very quickly rectified and we were very grateful how it was resolved which led to us continuing to enjoy our stay. I want to say a huge thank you to Jamie in Kanna for making some amazing cocktails and making us all feel so welcome. Also the whole staff in Kanna were GREAT with my daughter again making us all feel extra special and this way by far our favourite restaurant at the hotel. Carla and Sergio in Guest Relations were amazing helping us with bookings for restaurants when times weren’t available in the app and making recommendations for things to do during the day. The pool bar was great for a quick bite to eat and refreshments throughout the day. I have not a bad word to say about this hotel and very much look forward to our return very soon!

We have had a lovely chilled out week here. Food was plentiful and a great quality. Pool and splash area is lovely too. Loved the daily aqua dance and the drinks were branded with friendly staff. It is a quieter hotel than most and very chilled out which we loved. Breakfasts had live music every morning, the evening had bands and singers too. There is a cinema nights and an observatory also. The staff speak multiple languages and are very friendly. One day there was a pool party with a DJ, saxophone player, Candy Floss, ice cream and popcorn. The beach is on the doorstep but separately to the hotel, there is a secure gate for entry and access but no loungers or service.

My wife and I had the pleasure of experiencing an outstanding stay at the Paradisus Hotel in the Gran Canarias for four days. The remarkable staff truly made our visit unforgettable with their exceptional hospitality. The concierge services and priority reservations by the sommelier were perfectly orchestrated to enhance our enjoyment and comfort daily. Room supplies and drink refills were effortlessly handled, making our time even more enjoyable and carefree. I love this place so much!!! My family and I have been coming here for 20+ years now and every time it is always a pleasure to stay at BlueBay. The staff are ALWAYS polite, pleasant and accommodating. The maids are lovely and so friendly. They are forever willing to go the extra mile, I love coming back to the room and it being all fresh and clean. The views are phenomenal. Some of the best sunsets I have seen in my life. Every room in this hotel has a sea view. The grounds are kept and maintained to a high standard and the ground staff are very friendly. The Bar serves amazing cocktails and the staff are welcoming, Especially Angel and Zuso, who have been there since I was a baby. This place really has such a sentimental value to me and my family. Please don’t ever change. So many memories have been made here and we always look forward to booking for the next year as soon as we get back. Thank you for everything each and every year! Hannah

We stayed for a week and all the staff were absolutely amazing. Every staff member greeted us with smiles. The location was beautiful,our room was cleaned and refreshed every day. Thank you for an amazing stay. Stand out members were Marco and Maria from reception, but the the staff in the restaurant,accommodation and the little supermarket downstairs were all equally amazing.

Lovely big rooms, we stayed in a 2 bedroom apartment. The food was good most days with a good variety. Entertainment was not brilliant, but only one person doing it and he did his best. It's a 10 minute walk down to the shops and there aren't many. There are 3 restaurants on the square all very good

To call this hotel a 4 star, is generous. I’m truly disappointed in my/my family’s experience. 2 days before we arrived, we requested to be picked up at the airport by the hotel shuttle services. Upon arrival we had no transportation, they had never confirmed nor replied to our request. We got to the hotel, paid and checked in, the rooms were far from modern, terribly outdated, it smelled moldy (the air vents were covered in it) and I’m asthmatic. The bathroom was not properly cleaned (found the last tenants hair on the shower walls) and Limescale covered the faucets. The AC barely worked, the living room sofa was filthy and there were tears and rips in almost all the fabrics. To a point that we had to request a different room all together. The doors creaked like an old school horror movie. We were limited to one TV channel because everything else was in either Spanish, German or Arabic… Every morning military helicopters did their rounds, shaking up the place with its noise pollution. It seems very much like they are understaffed. Honestly I wish I had more better things to say, the staff were pleasant and patient, love that, and again the views were amazing, but unfortunately I found it difficult to relax and enjoy the stay. There is so much potential, it’s 2024 time to get with the program guys, seriously. Sincerely, A European Travel Blogger

This hotel consists of a lot of nice views with a few good spots to relax. However, the customer service is dreadful as in the restaurant the servers create an uncomfortable atmosphere as they wait for the second you finish your food to take the plates away, this completely invades personal space and made me very upset. The entertainment is very poor, there is no access to the beach from the hotel, there isnt any peace and quiet at night and there is a huge language barrier between staff and guests that do not speak spanish as they are on holiday. One postive I will add is that the rooms are spacious and they contain a decently sized balcony.

Just returned to the UK after a week staying here. Overall a very good hotel but a couple of areas that need attention. The location is brilliant right on the beach and the San Agustin shopping centre next to the hotel. The spa facilities are impressive and also both outdoor pool areas are very good. All the staff are very friendly as well. With the rooms, the design is nice and you have everything you need. However we had two rooms (211 and 212) where some work is needed. Put simply the cleanliness is not up to a 4 star hotel standard. In my room 211 there were ants crawling around the edges of the room and even inside the fridge probably because of 2 reasons. It looks like the floor and fridge hadn't been properly mopped and cleaned around the edge for a long time with other people's hair in places and a lot of dust which also applied around the bathroom area. The room wants a deep clean top to bottom. The mattresses are far too hard and feel old and it was on a bedframe with wheels which meant it moved around when getting in and out of bed. Also the sliding patio door was far too stiff to open and close in 211 and I believe the shower door was stiff in room 212. These could be excellent rooms if they were cleaned properly and better maintained. The food is great both at breakfast and dinner, although please make sure that meat being cooked on the grill is cooked enough as we saw some chicken that looked a bit pink. In terms of seating it's a pity that there aren't enough seats without having to sit near the edge of the swimming pool if it is busy which is a little dark in places at night. The entertainment area is a good layout at night, however you shouldn't let people smoke in the outdoor area to the right of the entertainment stage as it smells in the whole bar area. Overall a great hotel but needs some room maintenance to make it an excellent 4 star hotel.

Had a lovely time at this hotel in August. The rooms are beautiful, spacious and very clean. All the members of staff were extremely friendly and helpful, constantly going above and beyond for all our needs. Would 100% recommend this place for a peaceful stay at the most picturesque location!

This hotel exceeded all expectations. The Superior Plus room had a balcony with 2 chairs and an air dryer and overlooked the main pool, with a beautiful view out to sea. Nothing was too much for all the staff.

4 people, all inclusive, 9th floor (few advantages makes you feel special, view is really outstanding, 4th floor sundeck is awesome (soft double sunbeds, late sun). Free entry to spa (2 people, once, we didn't use)). Very good food, good alcohol available in all inclusive, fantastic helpful crew, great location, always available sunbeds (not sure if hotel was full. booking of sunbeds is forbidden, but everyone do it anyway:( ). All the rooms by the see (cool view from probably all of it, if you stay in the room). There was extra fee for safe (funny amount but still), I hope it is past already. Overall whatever you expext, you should not be disappointed :) Opinion sticked, and was unpunished for 2 years
