Es Castell is guaranteed to capture your imagination. The Menorca town was previously owned by Britain and still retains much of that old colonial feel - back then Es Castell was called Georgetown. Beautiful Georgian architecture, a stunning harbour and historic fortress make Es Castell a must for culture vultures, the area also boasts several magnificent beaches.
In terms of the weather in Es Castell it’s splendid throughout most of the year. Hot summers and mild winters make the region the perfect location for your Mediterranean getaway. Here’s a guide to what you can expect over the next 12 months:
-
In January and February, Es Castell feels more like spring than winter. The weather stays around a mild 12 degrees Celsius, making it perfect for winter sun breaks.
-
In March and April, the temperature in Es Castell rises to a warm 15 degrees. No April showers here but expect plenty of sunshine.
-
In May, Es Castell enjoys longer and warmer days with temperatures breaking into the early 20s on particularly warm days. Summer is just around the corner!
-
In June, the weather in Es Castell really picks up. The Mediterranean climate can be enjoyed in all its glory with temperatures ranging between the early to mid 20s.
-
In July and August, Es Castell enjoys its hottest weather. Sun seekers can expect temperatures of 25 and above.
-
September in Es Castell still feels like summer, with temperatures still sitting between the low to mid 20s.
-
In October, Es Castell starts to cool down with the introduction of autumn. But unlike the UK, Es Castell remains pleasant with temperatures of 15-18 degrees.
-
November and December see Es Castell return to milder temperatures of 12-15 degrees. You can still expect bright sunny days, but you may want to give a dip in the sea a miss!

Irene
We had a 2 week stay. It has a very good location for watching harbour traffic and restaurants for evening meals if not half board. Bedrooms were comfortable but not very attractive, eg. no pictures on walls. Duvets were not inserted into duvet covers. We had to do that ourselves and when bedlinen changed duvets again were not inserted in covers!!! Dining room staff were very pleasant and helpful each morning for breakfast. Staff in reception were not as pleasant, especially when we checked out. The staff member never enquired if we had a pleasant stay, was everything okay or said "we hope see you return in the future". There was a good selection of food for breakfast and dinner, perhaps it put out a bit early as one evening the cold starters and meats were put out around 6pm for service at 7pm. Roof top area was lovely and well used by guests.

We have been staying at this hotel for the last 5 years. This year, there is a distinct change in the air with an emphasis on turnover through the likes of Jet 2, rather than the personalised and attentive service we have had previously. We experienced a serious booking error where the hotel told us on the day before we left that we had overstayed by a night and to add insult to injury, an employee entered the room whilst we were out and left the door open with all our valuables in sight. We could not recommend the place now, if quality is a primary requirement.

Excellent hotel and location. Staff are welcoming and helpful. Great views out on to the sea / waterway into Mahon. Some big and small boats in and out, great to sit a watch. Rooms are nice. Roof terrace with its spa pools is nice, a good sun trap. Food was good in the restaurant with a decent selection.

I went there on September last year (2024) and the hotel staff was amazing. I really enjoyed my stay there for almost a week. It has incredible views to bay and I would encourage everyone to go for the room with views to sea.
I had a small issue with the reservation but Cati, the receptionist, and Laura Cabellos, the Assistant manager, solved it really quickly. Thank you for such a lovely stay.

We're back at this amazing hotel for another year, and it's exceeded our expectations once again. Antonio, the manager, and Laura Cabellos, the assistant manager, have provided exceptional service and warm welcome. The whole team is incredibly friendly and always willing to lend a hand. The hotel boasts fantastic restaurants, bars, and the highlight is the Sky Bar on the top floor with breathtaking views. We're absolutely smitten with this hotel and give it a 100% recommendation.
