We have just come back from a wonderful stay and our first at Sol y mar and in Calpe.
A very warm welcome and easy check in process with all the relevant information given. The rooms are spacious well appointed with huge comfortable beds, modern bathrooms and lots of storage space. The pillow spray and foot cream was a really nice touch.
The staff are pleasant and helpful the restaurant excellent with great breakfast Choices. The pool area is beautiful and has 3 levels with lots of sunbeds and the pool bar excellent. Stunning views all around and within walking distance of bars and restaurants we will be booking again later in the year.thanks for the fabulous stay.

A fantastic adults only hotel in a great location. The attention to detail is amazing with free pool towels, slippers and water. I stayed half board. The food was very good. Staff were very friendly the pool area is great and you can just step out onto the promenade and beech. I didn’t have a seat view room but imagine they are spectacular! I would definitely recommend.

Stayed for five nights towards the end of April, half board. Adults only, which was very nice.
Arrived at the same time, in the evening, as a larger group and the check in process took some time. Allocated in a a larger room, on the sixth floor, with ocean view. The room was clean, spacious and had everything we needed. Bed was comfortable and the pillows good.
Contacted the hotel and our tour provider before arriving and was assured that there were plenty of vegan friendly options for breakfast/dinner. However that didn’t seem to be the case, even after asking staff members to please point them out (nothing was labeled with GF, V or other).
-Breakfast had a decent selection of the basic bread, jam, “butter”, almond/soy milk, some cereals, fruits and grilled vegetables but there was no vegan option for cheese, sandwich meats, yogurt, oatmeal (which had milk) or anything of the sorts.
-Dinner is buffet style and the only thing I could find that was vegan was the salad bar (with raw ingredients) and pasta with basic tomato sauce. Needless to say it got fairly boring after the first night.
-My friend (not vegan) enjoyed the buffet and said the food was generally good.
The gym was well equipped and we enjoyed that it wasn’t overly crowded on the days we were there. The poolside was lovely but lacked wind-cover so it was a bit to chilly for lying out in the sun. Overall the entire hotel was clean and well maintained. The Spa itself is not included in bought treatments we ended up going somewhere else for a massage.
Would probably pick another hotel next time, just based on the lack of vegan friendly food. Normally I wouldn’t have minded and just eaten somewhere else but after being assured that they had plenty of options, we ended up paying for half-board which was a waste of money.

Everything was ok, except for the restaurant..
Especially during dinner, don't go for dinner.. eat out.
The food quality and assortment is quite good, but the hectic environment with understaffed staff. Over cramped tables make it a horrendous experience.
If you want peace and quiet, eat as early breakfast as possible! Then stay away from the restaurant for the rest of the day. So many different alternatives in Calpe to choose from.. and better and cheaper than the hotel..
We stayed in a suite and it was quite big, but bathroom with shower and tub was kinda below expected quality..
Views and closeness are top notch. Would stay again without food included..

Really friendly and efficient staff. Rooms are clean and well appointed. Location next to the beach. Food is high quality, varied and plentiful. I had a really enjoyable stay.
