Kind of with a heavy heart that I write this review. Everything about Blue Bay Beach Club made for a relaxing holiday, except for one thing which I cannot understand why nobody has mentioned in past reviews.
The hotel is located pretty much at the head of a runway. It's not the main airport for the island, it seems to be a smaller aerodrome of some kind. Every day there were helicopters and other aircraft using the runway, the approach to which meant these aircraft were flying within meters of the front of the hotel, it seemed like they were close enough to reach out and touch them. The noise was daily, and unreal. On a number of days - and in the early hours of the morning - it seemed there were military helicopters using the runway. The noise was absolutely ear shattering - the building was shaking.
On top of that, right next to the aerodrome is a motor racing circuit. On many days there was noise noise noise coming from there too, these things genuinely sounded loud enough to be formula 1 cars doing laps of the circuit at the other side of a curtain.
Like I said, it's with a heavy heart I write this review because the facility itself and especially the staff were very nice. But I just think it's unfair that holiday makers go there for a relaxing break, and what they get is a lot of very loud noise.

A pleasant hotel in a lovely village. My family have now visited this hotel for 25+ years and have never been disappointed. It is showing its age in some areas but it is still spacious, clean and comfy. The views from the northern rooms are amazing and the staff are always eager to please.

The hotel definitely does not deserve for 4 stars - requires major renovation and investment in the basic equipment it offers. In return, cockroaches and other insects are included in the price. The staff is also not helpful but they provide chemicals for insects without any problems. The food is edible, but in the company of insects it tastes mediocre. It is hard to find the advantages of this place. The photo expresses more than words.

The room that I stayed in was nice at first glance, but when I actually settled in, it was not as nice as I thought. The furniture was extremely old and outdated, and the bed was extremely used and abused. Everything had to have been from the 80s to early 90s. There were ants in the room, but I know in desert climate regions there are always anys. When it came to the food, it was average to subpar, not what you'd expect from a 4-star hotel.
On the positive side, the hotel does have a beautiful view of the ocean. As soon as you walk into the lobby, you get greeted by the sea. The pool area is very nice and well kept situated right next to the ocean. The staff was very friendly and had no problems with them.
So all in all, it was not a bad place to stay. It had its ups and downs but not too bad. Would I stay here again? Probably. Is it a "4-star" hotel? Maybe in it early years, but now it's just a shell of what it used to be.

in the pictures, everything looks wow, but to be honest, be at the bar, drink a beer, if you are not careful, you pay 3. in the morning at 7 you are woken up by the neighbors' animals. having a parrot does worse than a woman giving birth to twins. the rooms are ugly, everything inside is ugly, very old. We woke up one night water drop in the room, from the ceiling. the other day there was water on the floor in our bathroom, the water was flowing near the toilet. I do not recommend this hotel at all!
