Tenerife is famed for its many spectacular beaches and seaside resorts. You’ll find busy tourist hot spots, beaches suited to water sports and secluded coves where you can relax and unwind. It’s also worth checking out the island’s unique black sandy beaches, which have been formed by the island’s volcanic ash and rock - look out for Playa Bollullo in La Orotava!
Water sports and scuba diving
If you’re looking for the ultimate holiday experience, look no further than Tenerife’s excellent selection of water sports. The island is home to a large number of surf shacks and dive centres for jet skiing, scuba diving, parasailing and more.
Visit the Mount Teide National Park
No holiday to Tenerife is complete without a visit to Mount Teide. The huge volcano is the highest point in Spain and the highest point above sea level in the Atlantic, as well as being a UNESCO World Heritage site. You don’t have to be an experienced hiker to reach Mount Teide, cable cars provide easy access to the mountain’s summit.
Loro Parque zoo and aquarium
The Loro Parque zoo and aquarium is one of Tenerife’s most popular family attractions. Gorillas, tigers, orca whales, penguins and parrots are just some of the animals and sea creatures that call this place home.
Siam Park Water Park
Siam Park is one of Tenerife’s water parks! Here you’ll find a multitude of rides and slides for all ages. If you’re feeling brave, test your nerve on the “Tower of Power” - a steep slide with a 28-metre drop, which passes through a shark-filled aquarium before ending in an open pool!
If you’re looking to paint the town red, you’ll be pleased to know that a majority of Tenerife’s bars and nightclubs stay open long into the night. The busy resort of Playa de las Americas, on the island’s south coast, is the best place to experience the island’s raucous nightlife!
